Shades of Blue (Omegaverse BL) -
Chapter 102 - 100 | Neighbors
Chapter 102: 100 | Neighbors
Blue felt like he had purchased a set of expired suppressants. Ever since he started taking them, they made him feel nauseous and dizzy. But after the first day, they kept his pheromones in check.
Even if he couldn’t walk straight, at least his pheromones weren’t floating around the air.
Shooting resumed a week ago and things were going relatively fast. In one more week, they might successfully film the last scene.
And that was what Blue was looking forward to the most. He couldn’t help but lose himself to the thoughts of finally separating from this God awful set and having time to himself.
"Are you good?" Blue heard someone ask him.
He didn’t think too much about the question as he waved the person off. Right now, he was playing the role of a makeup artist, seeing that River did not look the way he wanted to.
And also, River was the one who asked that question. In his eyes, Blue looked like he needed to sit down and have a glass of water. But he was too afraid to say such a thing out loud.
Though it hadn’t made headlines yet that Winter and Blue had broken up, it wouldn’t take anything to conclude that their relationship was maybe not as steady as it used to be.
River drew to this conclusion judging by the mood Blue was in all the time. Blue didn’t always used to be in a bad mood. Sometimes, he would get a call which would leave him smiling all day.
But these days, he never got a call like that. Everyone knew.
"There. Don’t stretch your hands too much during the scene. And don’t exaggerate, okay?" Blue stepped away from River as he spoke.
River nodded his head, pretending to understand what Blue was going on about. The real reason why he couldn’t concentrate was because he was worried about Blue, surprisingly.
The Omega had grown so thin and pale. And somehow, he didn’t look bad while at it. He looked more... beautiful?
"You got that?" Blue snapped his fingers in front of River, bringing the latter to reality as he had been trapped in a trance.
"Um, yes. Yeah." River nodded repeatedly.
Blue looked at him skeptically before muttering something about River being useless and walking away. River watched Blue’s retreating figure longingly.
"Why does he seem so different...?" River spoke to himself.
Blue was walking to get himself water when his path was blocked by Adonis.
After the ’incident’, nothing actually happened between Blue and Adonis. Adonis never spoke about scandal to him nor, as a celebrity, did he try to clear his name to the public to avoid dragging. He was just quiet about the entire thing.
And Blue wasn’t the type of person to drag things that had already been done with and passed. What could he even do? Ask Adonis to give a public statement about them being innocent?
If Adonis wanted to do so to save his image he wouldn’t need telling. And Blue had no one he wanted to prove his innocence to. The only person who mattered already found him guilty.
Blue sighed.
"Boss’s Boss." Adonis called out.
Blue couldn’t tell if Adonis was mocking him. Adonis was still shameless enough to keep on pestering him, as though he didn’t care about his public image.
There were a group of people who called Blue a slut and blamed him for ’tangling’ with two men. There was another group of people who accused Adonis of being the one who came between Blue and Winter.
Though the latter group wasn’t as prominent as the former, they still existed.
"Go rehearse your script." Blue spoke with a formal tone, sidestepping Adonis in an attempt to walk away.
Adonis refused to take the cue, blocking Blue’s way once again.
"Are you busy?" Adonis asked foolishly.
Blue looked at himself, then looked around him, lastly facing Adonis. The expression on Blue’s face spelt, ’Really?’
They were little in the middle of the studio and shooting was to begin in a few minutes. And this idiot in front of him was asking if he was busy.
Blue was too tired to yell at Adonis, so he said, "Yes, I am."
Adonis nodded his head fervently, acting like he understood the words that were said to him. As Blue shifted to move once again, he spoke up, saying, "Are you single?"
The question was so out of the blue that Blue was too stunned to respond at first.
"Yes or no?" Adonis sneaked in closer to Blue as he said these words. "You can tell me, I won’t tell anyone—"
"Shut the fuck up." Blue lost the cool that he thought he had under control, his voice coming out sharper and louder than he intended.
Adonis opened his mouth to speak, but Blue didn’t wait around to hear what he wanted to say. He walked away as quickly as he could with a hostile aura floating around him.
It was so annoying that Adonis always made him lose his cool, especially at the times he didn’t want to.
There were so many staff around who must have heard him going off on Adonis. And Adonis always did things like this when they were people around him. As though he was purposely coming after Blue’s reputation.
Blue was too tired to think of why Adonis would even want to be antagonizing him.
He made sure the extra time he had before shooting would go into calming himself. Blue went to the closest restroom to wash his face.
But while doing so, he felt the urge to gag. And surprisingly, his lunch came out with the gag. Blue went to wash his face again with the back of his neck feeling somehow.
He popped more suppressants into his mouth and reminded himself to throw away the remaining when he got home and buy new ones from a new pharmacy.
Blue felt very annoyed when he thought of the words, ’new home’. He was no longer staying at a hotel. He had gotten an apartment around the area. It wasn’t much as it was just something in passing.
But it was more spacious than the ’shoebox’ of an apartment he used to have when he was still in college. Blue deeply regretted the fact that he had let that place go.
There was nothing he could do. One had to make mistakes to learn from. However, the only thing Blue learned from being in a relationship with Winter was that he was more naive and foolish than he thought.
He went back to the studio and spent the rest of the day working. The moon was already up by the time Blue got a cab to carry him to the building he would be staying in.
It was not a bad place per say. But Blue knew someone who would say that the place was unworthy of him. Blue’s fists unconsciously tightened by his sides.
He went into the building and took the lift to get to his floor. There were four other rooms on the floor. Blue didn’t actually care about the occupants of the other room.
Even at his last place, from the time he moved in till his lease came to an end, Blue couldn’t remember communicating with any of his neighbors.
The only thing that would ever make Blue go out of his way to speak to a neighbor was if they were on his way.
As he stepped out of the lift, Blue saw that there were about ten boxes blocking his door. Blue was already exhausted from work.
He couldn’t see himself explaining to the neighboring person that blocking the door of another person’s—his—house with their things was the wrong way to go about life.
Blue planned on kicking the boxes when he reached his door. He was about to kick them when someone walked out of the room across his own.
It was a slim and tall guy with fair skin. He had light brown hair with hazel colored eyes. His eyes were almond shaped and he had a scholarly air around him, thanks to the rectangular gold thin-framed glasses he was wearing.
The guy was about to pick a box and walk back in when he saw that Blue was standing across him and the box was blocking the way.
The tips of his tinted red and he straightened his back.
"I’m so sorry. I didn’t know someone else was staying here. It’s been empty all morning and I’m- sorry for wasting your time." The guy changed the course of his statement once he saw Blue’s expression darken gradually.
"I’ll clear your way." The guy apologized as he went to pick the boxes in front of Blue’s door.
Once he was done with that, he was about to introduce him to Blue, however Blue spoke first.
"Stay in your lane." Blue said with an icy tone, then unlocked his door, walked in, and slammed it hard.
He was not in the mood for someone new.
