Chapter 911: 003 Stay Overnight Together

Mona Cervantes went to Lala Cake Shop early the next day, just as Avery Graham was opening up. That day, she was in the kitchen with the cake master making cakes; the cake master was making the store’s cakes, while she was handling the online orders.

When Mona arrived, a waiter immediately went to serve her, "Lady, what would you like to buy? This Caramel Wheat Bun is our latest product. Everyone who has tried it has said it’s quite good."

Mona glanced at the enthusiastic shop assistant trying to make a sale, "I’ve come looking for your boss. If she wants to do business with me, I’d like her to attend to me personally. I won’t treat her unfairly."

Mona looked around and then walked to a nearby sofa, sitting down with one leg over the other, poised and waiting.

The shop assistant paused, taken aback by the authoritative air of Mona. She seemed not so much to be looking after business as she did seem intent on causing trouble.

"Aren’t you going?" Mona saw that she was motionless and hadn’t even prepared a cup of water for her, not even plain boiled water. With service like this, as well as her dumbfounded appearance, it was not hard to guess that Avery Graham was also nothing special as a boss.

The shop assistant hurried to the back and called Avery Graham out.

Avery had to let someone watch the oven while she called another person to prepare the boxes. The freshly baked goods needed to be packaged and sent out promptly.

After removing her chef’s hat and white jacket, Avery came out and saw Mona. She asked the person who had called her to pour a cup of boiled water for Mona, then went over to her.

Truthfully, Avery wasn’t pleased to see this woman and had no idea why she was coming to see her at this hour, but since Mona had approached her, she still had to entertain and confront her.

Had they bumped into each other on the street, she could have pretended not to recognize her.

"Hello, madam, my name is Avery Graham. I heard you were looking for me?" Avery approached Mona.

Mona had already seen her coming. Her impression of Avery from the day before was rather distinct. Although Bernard Taylor had given her a New Year’s gift because of Avery, one more expensive than her previous coat, knowing that the two of them clearly knew each other but pretended otherwise in front of her, combined with what Nancy Sallow had told her, made Mona considerably unsettled.

Bernard Taylor likes this sort of common grass type of woman?

She could never learn this poor posture even if she tried, and she believed that Nancy Sallow’s purpose in sending her here was definitely not to learn from Avery Graham.

"Let’s sit down to talk. I’m not used to looking up at someone when speaking." The waiter brought over a cup of boiled water, which Mona looked at and then threw the paper cup and its contents into the trash can, "Don’t you know it’s unhealthy to use paper cups for water? Do you know what material the cup walls are made of?"

"Then bring over a cup of coffee," Avery said, managing to keep her temper in check.

This was her shop, teeming with customers coming and going. She prided herself on good service. It wasn’t about respecting Mona, but rather not wanting to scare away her patrons.

At this time, many kindergarteners would also come in to buy some bread and yogurt, and those adorable children would sweetly call her Sister Avery as soon as they entered the shop.

"Yes, Sister Avery," the shop assistant was angry, but since Avery hadn’t said anything, she had no choice but to go prepare the coffee.

"Do you know who I am?" Mona asked Avery after she sat down, to which Avery shook her head, "My name is Mona Cervantes. I don’t know if you are a local, but if you are, you should have heard of Powell Trade Group. Our family is in the import-export business and Bernard Taylor’s family also does business, they’re in the Jewelry Business. He and I are a good match."

Avery suddenly laughed softly, not a loud laugh, but a gentle one.

Despite this, Mona felt her face coloring with annoyance. She had to restrain herself, as, no matter how you looked at it, she was the Powell Family’s young lady, and her every action represented the Powell Family.

"What are you laughing at?" she hissed quietly. She couldn’t understand which part of her words Avery found so amusing.

"Nothing much. I’m aware that you two are well-matched, Miss Powell. You probably don’t know, but I have a boyfriend. My relationship with him is stable, and we plan to meet each other’s parents during the New Year, which, surely you understand, signifies something." Avery truly felt there was no need to explain such matters so explicitly to an outsider, but she really didn’t want women associated with Bernard Taylor coming to her looking for trouble now and again.
