Chapter 864: 012 Avery Saunders’s Downfall_7
There would be no more news from Jackson Clarke’s side. Ryan Parker was Jordy Wade, and Jackson Clarke was his man, they were certainly not going to give the Saunders Family any way out.
The day he took over the Wade Family, he had never considered the day when fortunes would change, that Ryan Parker would actually destroy his Saunders Family so thoroughly.
Indeed, what goes around comes around, not because they wouldn’t be avenged, but because the time had not yet come.
Ian Saunders didn’t get home until nine o’clock that evening. The Saunders Family was his life’s work, and just like that, it was gone. He wanted to stay a little longer; at that time, after work, he was the only one left in the company. During those hours, he almost felt what Harry Wade must have felt years ago, alone in his company, guarding his wife’s cold body.
It really felt terrible, very terrible.
Thinking about it, Harry Wade had suffered much more than he had. At least his wife and child were still by his side. Without the company, it was just about not having money, as long as their family was together, they could still live happily for the rest of their lives.
However, what he didn’t expect was coming home to a table of food that had already gone cold because they hadn’t eaten. He thought they were waiting for him. Originally, he wanted to have the servant reheat the food, and then the three of them could sit down and eat together. Instead, he heard his wife suddenly cry out in anguish.
He ran over and asked with concern, "What’s wrong? What happened?"
The company was bankrupt, but at least his house was still there, and then they had some savings left, enough to live an ordinary life, as long as no more disasters befell his family.
"Ian, it’s Avery, Avery’s been sued, they say she killed Mrs. Wade, and they want her life for a life, and there’s evidence." Mrs. Saunders looked at her husband, weeping bitterly.
Avery Saunders stood there, calm as ever, beside them. She had planned to spend a good day with her mother. However, Mrs. Saunders was a very sensitive person, quickly noticed her daughter’s abnormality, and after much pressing, finally got the truth out of her. Being an ordinary woman, Mrs. Saunders didn’t know what to do after finding out, and could only call her husband, who didn’t answer his phone, so Avery Saunders stopped her mother, telling her about the crisis at her father’s company, and how their Saunders Family’s fate would probably disappear from the business world, just like the Wade Family did years ago.
Mrs. Saunders didn’t care whether the company was still there; she only cared about Avery. Was she really going to have to die for someone?
"Evidence? What evidence?" Ian Saunders looked toward Avery, thinking that if his daughter remained so calm, it probably wasn’t a serious matter.
"It’s nothing, Dad. Just take good care of Mom. I can handle my own issues," Avery Saunders smiled, not wanting to burden her father with her problems, besides, she had already seen her end coming. Ryan Parker wanted her dead, so she couldn’t survive. Perhaps when Ryan Parker was still Jordy Wade, he might not have had the means, but now that he was Ryan Parker, he certainly did.
When the King of Hell wants you dead, no one can live.
In this life, to have been brought down by such a man, she accepted her fate. Back then, Jordy Wade had told her she messed with someone she shouldn’t have, and she didn’t understand at the time. Now, she finally understood.
"Show Dad," Ian Saunders, not believing, only then noticed Avery’s abnormality.
Unable to resist her father’s insistence, Avery Saunders showed him the video and recording Ryan Parker had sent to her, and Ian Saunders also noticed the summons set aside. He clenched his phone tightly, "Avery, don’t be afraid, Dad will get you the best lawyer."
"Okay," Avery Saunders nodded, "Let’s eat, Mom and Dad, I’m hungry."
At the sound of their beloved daughter saying she was hungry, Mrs. Saunders quickly stopped crying and asked the servant to reheat the food on the table and serve it again, the three of them silently shared a meal around the large dining table.
For the first time, Mrs. Saunders felt what contentment was. Ever since Ian Saunders started the Saunders Family business and they had money, the most she ever had at that dining table was herself, or at most two people. It was rare for all three to eat together.
Although there was little communication, the atmosphere among the three was relatively good. Ian Saunders served food to both his wife and daughter, and Mrs. Saunders did the same. It was reminiscent of the time when Avery was very young, when their family didn’t have much money, and they had many chances to eat together.
Mrs. Saunders smiled, and Avery Saunders caught Ian Saunders’ eye. In their lifetime, both father and daughter owed this woman beside them.
Mom, I’m sorry. If there is a next life, Avery will make it up to you then.
Watching Mrs. Saunders’ smile, Avery Saunders felt her vision blur with something.
That night, the Saunders Family stayed up late before each returned to their own rooms to sleep. Seeing her parents hand in hand returning to their room, Avery Saunders felt comforted. Back in her room, she began to pack her things.
First, she sent a message to Ryan Parker: Wasn’t it supposed to be life for life? You’re not just taking my life, but also my father’s lifelong dedication. With our Saunders Family like this, are you and your woman satisfied? Just wait and see my choice.
After sending the message, she turned off her phone.
She then left a suicide note for her parents and went back to the bathroom, filling the bathtub completely. Then, taking a razor blade from a drawer, she returned to the bathroom, lay in the warm water of the bathtub, and cut her wrist.
She didn’t know how much time had passed before she felt her consciousness dissipate. In a daze, she seemed to see Mrs. Wade, with a cold smile and cold words, "Avery Saunders, you’ve finally come to this day. Do you know how long I’ve waited for you?"
It was like the nightmares she used to have, only back then, Avery Saunders would be frightened, but now, she couldn’t muster up any fear at all.
Let everything be so.
The following morning, a scream pierced the Saunders’ family’s sky.
