Upon arriving in M Country, Ryan Parker had already booked a hotel, a Hawkins Family luxury hotel. He had previously established a chain of branches in M Country, and the business was quite successful.

He held a VIP Card for all Hawkins Family hotels, and he had grown accustomed to their service. Whenever he traveled for business and there was a Hawkins Family hotel available, it was always his first choice.

Celia Wade wasn’t aware that Bryan Hawkins’s business was so extensive, but Marcus Parker knew.

"Bryan Hawkins is an excellent young man. He doesn’t get involved in other industries, focusing solely on continuing his family’s legacy, and he has done exceptionally well at it," Marcus Parker was aware that this was a Hawkins Family hotel, but he had no idea about the relationships his son and future daughter-in-law had with Bryan Hawkins and his wife.

"Yes, I generally prefer to book their hotels," Ryan Parker had nothing but praise for Bryan Hawkins.

It was only then that Celia Wade realized Marcus Parker knew how greatly Bryan Hawkins had expanded their family business.

Ryan Parker booked two suites, one for Ellie Wilton and Marcus Parker—a luxurious one-bedroom honeymoon suite—and the other for himself and Celia Wade, which was a two-bedroom suite with two rooms.

They were on the same floor, not next to each other, but across the hall.

Before meeting with Celia’s father, Ryan Parker had some matters to attend to, so he made arrangements with Marcus Parker and Ellie Wilton and then headed off with Celia Wade to find Jackson Clarke, who knew the location of a certain nurse.

Now that he had shared everything with Celia, it was natural for her to accompany him on his errands.

Celia was determined to follow through, wanting to uncover the true cause of her mother’s demise. Even though she had her suspicions, without evidence, she could never be at peace, nor could she convince her father.

If it was indeed Avery Saunders who had caused her mother’s death, and who had deceitfully kept Ryan Parker by her side to take care of her for so many years, Celia was furious and vowed not to let this woman get away with it.

Jackson Clarke was always ready for Ryan Parker’s call, so even when he was in a meeting, he stood up and left the Saunders Family corporate meeting as soon as Ryan Parker called.

Seeing Jackson’s bold action, Ian Saunders quickly called out to him, "Jackson Clarke, what do you think you’re doing? We’re in a meeting."

"CEO Saunders, I have some urgent matters to attend to, so I need to leave early. Of course, if you feel that I’m breaking company discipline, you’re welcome to fire me at any time. Goodbye." In front of all the Saunders Family leaders, Jackson Clarke’s statement was elegant and tinged with irony, after which he turned and left.

This smooth exit astounded the female staff present; they always knew Jackson, the CEO’s assistant, was handsome, but this was the first time they had witnessed such a dashing display, so much so that they found him indescribably attractive.

"..." Ian Saunders was livid, unable to believe that the always by-the-book Jackson Clarke could do something so audacious. Avery Saunders also frowned deeply.

Jackson was highly capable and her father’s right-hand man, and his sudden departure worried her. It was no wonder her father was furious. She was now coming to the company every day, tackling many tasks hands-on, mainly because she didn’t dare let herself idle. Whenever she had a moment to spare, she would involuntarily think back to her encounter with Ryan Parker and the words he had said.

After Jackson left, the meeting room fell silent for a full minute. Many of the documents had been prepared by Jackson, and with his abrupt departure, they were unsure how to continue the meeting.

It was then that Avery Saunders received a text message. It was from the nurse who had accidentally recorded her intentionally spouting provocative words in Celia’s mother’s ward.

The nurse, Beatrice Hansen, was someone Avery Saunders had never expected to be blackmailed and threatened by, considering she was a Saunders Family heiress who could usually bend people to her will.

She had been extorted for a considerable sum of money by this nurse, all taken from her private funds. The nurse was like a bottomless pit, and Avery was determined to find a way to silence her for good.

However, she was in turmoil, unsure of Ryan Parker’s intentions, especially after he had said that if she didn’t come to him, he would come to her. Therefore, she didn’t dare stay in Kyoto for too long and had shamefacedly returned to M Country.
