Chapter 787: Chapter 787: He Woke Up (8)

Actually, it won’t hurt if I don’t force myself to think about it.

At this moment, Celia Wade is helping Little He make her bed. It’s the first time Little He is staying overnight here. After helping her out, Celia Wade tells her to get some rest early, as she had been working hard all day.

Little He nods her head. The employer she found is truly a good person.

As Celia Wade leaves Little He’s room, she sees Jordy Wade looking for her. "You finished taking a bath so quickly? I thought you were going to be in there for half an hour. Since you’re in such a hurry, let’s go to your room and talk. Little He is asleep."

"...Don’t you need to take a bath?" Even though he wanted to talk and find out about his past, Jordy Wade could see that she was already exhausted.

"It’s fine. I can take a bath quickly. I’ll go back and take one after we finish talking. You won’t mind if I smell, will you?" After saying this, Celia Wade playfully pinches her nose and sniffs herself.

"..." Jordy Wade suddenly smiles. The girl in front of him is truly adorable.

Celia Wade stares at Jordy Wade’s smile, then feels a bit foolish herself.

Finally, Jordy Wade coughs a couple of times, and they both go into his room together, turning off the living room light.

In Jordy Wade’s room, there are two single-seat sofas. They each sit on one, and Celia Wade suddenly feels nervous. "Do you want something to drink? Plain water? Do you want it?"

"I don’t need anything. If you want something, I can get it for you." Jordy Wade says naturally, as if it’s expected of him.

"Then I don’t want it either. You can start asking whatever it is you want to know now." Celia Wade doesn’t want anything either, as it’s already late, and she still has to take him to the hospital for a check-up tomorrow, so she feels it’s best to let him get some rest early.

"Let’s start with what you just said. If we aren’t siblings, then what’s the relationship between us? And where are our parents? Where are they?" Jordy Wade thinks for a while, there are many questions he wants to ask, but when it comes to specifics, he’s a bit confused, so it’s better to start with the topic they were discussing before.

"We’re not related by blood, but I’ve been calling you Big Brother for many years. As for our parents... you were the child brought back from the orphanage by my parents. At that time, my mother gave birth to me and couldn’t have any more children, but the Wade Family needed a male heir to inherit the family business. They originally wanted to find a younger brother for me, but when I went to the orphanage, I became attached to you. My parents doted on me at that time, and so, according to my wishes, they brought you to our family. We became siblings like this. When I said we aren’t siblings, I meant that we aren’t siblings connected by blood."

Even though Celia Wade really wanted to confess her feelings again at this moment, out of consideration for Jordy Wade’s recent awakening, she was truly worried that it might be too much for him. If it caused him to faint again, that wouldn’t be good.

So, Celia Wade restrained herself.

"..." It took Jordy Wade quite a while to make sense of this logic. Even though it took some time, he eventually understood that they were siblings, just not from the same parents, and they had no blood ties. Having lived together for so many years, it’s no wonder that seeing her cry made his heart ache inexplicably. It turns out that this was a subconscious reaction. "So, do you remember the name of the orphanage? Do you... or rather, do our parents know about my life before I went to the orphanage? I want to ask them about it. You wouldn’t object, would you?"

"I think the orphanage we went to was Angel Orphanage. My mother told me about it before. As for my parents, my mother is no longer with us, and my father is recovering from an illness abroad. In our home country, it’s just the two of us left." Celia Wade withheld a lot of information because there are many things she couldn’t say at this time.

That incident still felt like a nightmare to her even now, let alone for Jordy Wade who had just awakened. She feared that he might not be able to accept such information, so she couldn’t reveal too much at the moment.

"My mother is gone, and my father is abroad? Did something happen to our family?" Jordy Wade’s heart raced, even though they weren’t his birth parents, he couldn’t forget their kindness in raising him.

"No, my mother’s heart was always weak. She died from a heart attack. My father is getting on in years, and his health isn’t great. The air abroad is better, more conducive to healing the body." Celia Wade explains.

Of course, her mother’s heart was indeed weak, but it was actually due to being angered to death. Her father’s age was advanced, but his health was quite good before. However, due to his wife’s sudden death, he became overwhelmed with grief which led to the deterioration of his health.

He stayed abroad not only because of the better air quality but also because he didn’t want to acknowledge her as his daughter anymore.

Of course, she couldn’t reveal any of this now. Considering that Jordy Wade had just woken up, she couldn’t hide these facts from him forever. So, when he had regained some strength or his memory had recovered a bit, she would confess everything to him.

At that time, she would likely have to go through a lot of pain, as there’s no way she could predict what he would choose to do in the end.

"I see." Jordy Wade nods, fully believing Celia Wade. "Angel Orphanage?"

Why would his memory fragments contain Fortstar Orphanage, then? Does that mean he had been transferred between orphanages?

"Um, don’t think too much about it for now. Get a good rest. We’ll go to the hospital tomorrow to check why you lost your memory. Then we’ll know what’s happening. Get some sleep early tonight. If you really can’t remember, don’t worry, I’ll slowly tell you all about the past. I promise I won’t hide a thing, okay?" Seeing Jordy Wade’s furrowed brow, Celia Wade stands up, not wanting him to think too much.

"Right, it’s quite late. You should go back to your room and rest." Jordy Wade glances out the window; it’s pitch black. Looks like it’s rather late already.

"You should rest too. We have an appointment with Dr. Wang tomorrow, and we should try to get to the hospital before nine." Celia Wade nods, stands up, and turns off his light before leaving.

The room suddenly gets dark. There’s faint yellow light streaming in from the dim streetlamp outside. Jordy Wade can still see, but tonight, he isn’t sleepy, probably because he had slept too long in bed. After taking a bath, he feels quite refreshed.

Still, he obediently lays down on the bed, looking at the dim yellow light outside the window, his black eyes bright and captivating.
