Chapter 777: Chapter 777: Splendid Wedding (12)

After touching up her makeup and taking a short rest, about an hour passed, with only Avery and her other two friends by her side. They, however, seemed utterly uninterested in her company, their gazes wistfully lingering on the outside world.

"Rich people are truly different. I wish I could see what’s happening outside. Had I known earlier, I wouldn’t have agreed to be a bridesmaid; I would have just been a guest. I could have taken a lot of pictures." Avery yearningly watched Daisy Willow, along with Axel and Elena Duncan, gleefully stepping on colored balls on the green lawn.

She also wished she could be outside joining the fun, feeling quite certain that Bryan Hawkins, that tormentor, was seeking revenge on them. They had only playfully teased him a bit, and now they were locked in a room.

"Oh, to participate in such a grand wedding in one’s lifetime is indeed a blessing. Let alone Carolline Ruiz, the bride herself, she is truly the luckiest." Celia Wade mused nostalgically. Once, she too dreamed of a wedding like this. But now, her dream had become a reality, all thanks to Carolline, thus fulfilling one of her heart’s desires.

It is indeed wonderful. Truly wonderful.

"We can only look on with envy. There is only one Bryan Hawkins in this world," Mia Parker said wistfully.

As best friends, they naturally couldn’t fight over a man, especially when they didn’t stand a chance against Carolline even if they wanted to.

Phoebe Miller, dressed in her dazzling attire, found a moment to visit Carolline in the resting room during the western-style buffet lunch. The day had begun with a western wedding ceremony held entirely in the church.

No matter how splendid Phoebe looked, she was no match for Carolline wearing her beautiful wedding gown, the unique leading lady of the day.

Escorted by a handsome man with blond hair and blue eyes, when they both knocked on the bride’s room, the three besotted girls were completely taken aback by the dashing man standing next to Phoebe Miller.

Naturally, Celia was the first to recover. Once, she might have swooned, but now, no matter how handsome, a man wouldn’t remain in her sight for too long.

"Carolline, congratulations." Phoebe said, expressing her congratulations. "This wedding is splendid. I heard this ceremony is just the beginning, and the real show is tonight. I can hardly wait."

At the time Bryan shared the details of the wedding and the designer’s elaborate plans for it online, Phoebe decided—come what may—she would attend their wedding.

Or else, her absence would become a lifelong regret.

"Thank you." Carolline nodded.

"Oh, by the way, this is my new boyfriend, Albion Douglas. We’re planning to get married next year." Phoebe grinned, introducing the man standing next to her.

"Mrs. Hawkins, nice to meet you. Congratulations, and I wish you and Mr. Hawkins a loving and long-lasting marriage." Albion Douglas said, extending his hand for a handshake.

He pronounced his Mandarin very well, at least for the little he knew.

These are the words that Phoebe had spent three days teaching him before they arrived.

"Thank you, Phoebe. He speaks Mandarin very well." Carolline said, genuinely impressed.

"He only knows that one sentence." Phoebe shrugged with resignation.

Carolline: "?"

Carolline was surprised, and then Albion Douglas spoke fluent and proper English, confirming Phoebe’s words—he only knew that one sentence in Mandarin, nothing else.
