Chapter 768: Chapter 768: Dazzling Wedding (3)

Mia Parker briefly talked about Julia Marshall’s past, a woman she admires tremendously. To pursue her dream and belief, Julia had paid a great price, enduring poverty. At one point, she survived on a single piece of bread a day for two and a half years.

During those two and a half years, her family and friends advised her to find a proper job, which would be better than dedicating herself to the study of wedding dress design. However, she didn’t listen because she strongly believed in herself. The pursuit of her dream was not just a simple goal for her.

Later, due to her stubbornness, her family and friends stopped offering her financial support. She never gave up on her beliefs, enduring both cold shoulders and ridicule, and persevering through it all.

There’s a saying that fits—once, you may have looked down on Julia, but now, she’s out of your reach.

Indeed, nowadays, having Julia design a wedding dress for someone is not achievable for everyone. A person would not just need to have money, but also personal charm. Of course, the most important requirement is having enough money to afford Julia’s price. Otherwise, there’s no need for further discussion.

Although personal charm can win over Julia, her past experiences with poverty have made her realize that money is essential in this society. However, she also holds her values high, not willing to sell her soul for money.

The wedding gowns she designed represent her soul, which she won’t let be tarnished by people who only have money. That’s why she has set specific rules for her studio and her team.

Everyone who follows her must abide by her rules.

In their lifetime, not many women could wear a wedding dress designed by Julia. Yet, Carolline gets to enjoy this blessing. One couldn’t help but admire how impressive Bryan Hawkins was, and acknowledge how well he treats Carolline—truly, too good to be true.

It was so good that everyone was envious.

"What? The woman who designs handmade wedding dresses? I’ve heard that she sews every stitch herself. No wonder it takes so long. It’s such a surprise." Avery Graham had heard about this remarkable woman, but she hadn’t paid attention to her name. Now that Mia mentioned her, Avery seemed to recall her.

Avery hadn’t expected Carolline to be able to wear a wedding dress designed by Julia. It was such a fortunate and enviable thing. It would be a blessing just to see such a dress in their lifetime.

Avery also reached out to touch the dress, as though admiring a piece of art.

Carolline was unaware of Julia’s legendary journey, or of how hard someone had worked to convince the designer to create a gown for her. All she could sense was the appreciation of her from her friends’ words.

The recent days of avoiding him didn’t bother her as much.

Celia Wade, of course, knew about Julia and also knew Carolline was most likely unaware of the designer’s background. Carolline was different from them, as her interests and concerns were quite distinct.

When Celia was still Miss Wade of the Wade Family, she had told Jordy Wade that if she ever got married, she wanted him to gift her a wedding dress designed by Julia Marshall as a wedding present. If Jordy couldn’t achieve that, then she would never marry, forcing him to pay for her happiness for the rest of her life.

Jordy readily agreed at the time, and she happily hugged his neck, singing and dancing, declaring him to be the best brother in the world.
