Chapter 650: Chapter 650: Elena Duncan’s Disappearance (6)

Although she didn’t particularly like Mrs. Duncan, she had to admit that Master Duncan paid her a high salary. Her family depended on her to support them, so she couldn’t afford to lose this job.

"Let’s sit in the café for a while first, and enter later," Daisy Willow proposed to Cole Duncan.

"No need, let’s go in now while the morning sun isn’t strong. This afternoon we can find a place to shelter from the sun. Katie, go buy the tickets. We’ll wait here for you," Cole Duncan said to Katie, handing her his wallet at the same time.

"Alright, Master Duncan." Katie took Cole Duncan’s wallet and went to queue for tickets at the ticket counter.

Because G City was so populous, regardless of where you went during the holidays, there was always a line.

"Elena, call him," Daisy Willow nudged Elena Duncan beside her.

"Daddy..." Elena called him shakily.

"Hey, sweet Elena, how about a hug from Daddy?" Cole Duncan reached out to Elena.

Elena first looked up at Daisy Willow. Only after Daisy Willow nodded to her did she walk towards Cole Duncan. He lifted her and sat her on his lap, "I’m sorry, Elena."

"Don’t say that." Elena didn’t know how to respond, so Daisy Willow quickly interjected.

"You said you had something else to tell me?" Cole Duncan recalled what Daisy Willow had said on the phone the previous day.

"Yes, Elena will be going to study in M Country when the new term starts in September, and I’ve found a job there. From now on, if you wish to see Elena, it’ll have to be during the school holidays," Daisy Willow stated simply.

"It’s great that Elena can study in M Country. I had previously thought of sending her abroad, but I never thought that you’d be able to make arrangements for her already." Cole Duncan nodded, refraining from prying into how she managed to achieve that.

"Don’t you want to know who helped Elena and me?" Daisy Willow noticed that Cole Duncan seemed different at this encounter. With everything that had happened to the Duncan Family, it would probably take time for him to process and accept.

"No matter who it is, I’m grateful to anyone that can help you guys. Actually, I have something to tell you too. I’ve decided to leave here, and as a result, our future meetings will be fewer and further between," Cole Duncan seemed to accept peacefully the fact that Daisy and Elena were going abroad.

The reason he planned to leave G City was not only to prevent his mother from pestering Daisy and Elena when she was idle, but also to find a quiet place to cleanse his and his mother’s spirits.

"Are you returning to your old house?" Daisy Willow had visited their old house once when she first met Cole Duncan. Although the place was somewhat backward, the villagers were simple and honest, and interacting with them gave a sincere and comfortable feeling.

"No." His mother was reluctant to return to their old house and was insistent on not selling the company. She didn’t want the ridicule of their former neighbors, he knew that.

His mother was very concerned about losing face. When he was a child in the village and excelling at school, his mother was clearly proud. But anyone can have a bad exam now and then. Whenever he scored poorly, his mother wouldn’t scold or hit him. Instead, she would cry in front of him. The sight of her tears always caused him stress.

The situation was the same now, only his mother would not just cry, she would also cause a scene and yell.

"..." Hearing that Cole Duncan didn’t want to say more, Daisy Willow asked no more. Katie returned with the tickets and several beverages which she then distributed.
