Chapter 591: Chapter 591: Gu Sheng’s Invitation (4)
"All right, Kent, stop embarrassing yourself. Go over to your father’s side, seriously." Millie Campbell looked tense, and Evelyn Willow immediately stopped crying. Her mother usually spoiled her, but once her mother really got angry, it was more terrible than her father getting angry.
She couldn’t afford to provoke, nor dared to.
Daisy Willow introduced her big brother and sister-in-law to Carolline Ruiz. They had already heard about Carolline and expressed their deep gratitude, constantly thanking her.
Carolline was quite embarrassed. After exchanging courtesies, she headed towards the parking lot.
Avery Graham had grown frustrated from waiting. It was just picking someone up. How could it take so long? She felt like she was about to fall asleep.
The three children got into Carolline’s car, along with Daisy Willow and her sister-in-law, Millie Campbell. The parents and elder brother of the Willow family got into Avery Graham’s car.
Carolline took them to Daisy’s former apartment first, where Daisy still had some things. Since Celia Wade was away on business, all three rooms were available, perfectly accommodating the Willow family.
After settling them in, Carolline played host and treated them to lunch. During lunch, Evelyn Willow caused a scene by trying to fight with Axel over a spot next to Elena Duncan.
However, Elena tightly stuck to Axel. Evelyn tried to push herself between the two, separating them. Axel frowned; this person was incredibly unreasonable and impolite. Before he could think, Elena got angry and pushed Evelyn away, complaining vehemently, "Brother Kent, you’re annoying."
Evelyn felt a hit to her pride when Elena pushed her, her lips quivered as she was about to cry.
"Evelyn Willow, no crying, come over here," Millie Campbell sternly reprimanded, and Evelyn immediately stopped her pouty behavior, walking over to her mother and sitting between her parents sulkingly.
The adults didn’t say anything when they saw this. Carolline, explained that Axel and Elena’s relationship had been established long ago, and it wasn’t a personal attack on Evelyn.
Samuel Willow and Millie Campbell reassured Carolline not to mind; their kid was a bit headstrong.
Everyone understood that Elena and Axel had been together since they started kindergarten, and Elena had only recently established a relationship with Evelyn Willow. Although there was some blood relation, in Elena’s heart, her relationship with Axel was the closest. So, they wouldn’t tolerate Evelyn causing trouble between them.
Axel also respected this almost strange child out of respect for Elena. If Evelyn went too far, he would also get angry.
Evelyn sat alone next to her parents, watching the interaction between Elena and Axel, grinding her teeth in anger. This wasn’t his territory after all, so once they were on his turf, he would call on his friends to give Axel a good thrashing.
Neither Axel nor Evelyn knew then that in the future, they would become very good friends because of Elena.
Of course, this comes later. A lot of emotions and friendships start off on the wrong foot.
While the adults ate and chatted, after lunch, Avery Graham took the elderly and children back to rest, while Carolline drove Daisy Willow and Millie Campbell to look at houses.
Carolline had two houses in mind. One was a newly-built, small villa which William Hawkins had recommended. It offered a 25% discount, the lowest rate. However, living there would require buying a vehicle for transportation as there was no convenient access to a school for the children. There was no marketplace nearby, only large supermarkets.
The other was an apartment in a residential area. It was a five-bedroom, two-living room house with two master bedrooms, which was quite suitable for their family. It also offered a discount, 18%.
