Chapter 589: Chapter 589: Simon Carrington’s Invitation (2)
Evelyn Willow came out and saw Daisy Willow, "Aunt Daisy, I’m sorry. It wasn’t intentional."
"It’s okay, Evelyn. Just remember not to do this again, okay? No matter if it’s ice water or regular water, don’t leave it on the bed. And if you get yourself wet, make sure to dry off immediately, alright?" Daisy Willow gently replied.
"Yes, I understand. Thank you, Aunt Daisy." Evelyn was grateful for Daisy Willow’s understanding.
"Alright, you can watch TV in the living room, I’ll go check on your sister."
Daisy Willow went back to the room and saw that Elena, who had already taken her medication and was injected, was sleeping relatively soundly. Feeling more at ease, she left the room and went next door to make a phone call back to Simon Carrington.
The phone rang only once before Simon picked it up, as if he was waiting for her call.
"Hello, lawyer Carrington. Sorry about earlier, my phone had some issues. I’m using a different phone now." Daisy Willow both apologized and explained.
"No worries. I think we’ve already discussed most of the necessary information. The details of the financial management plan have been sent to your email. Take a look when you have time, and call him if you have any questions." Simon was acting as a messenger.
"Alright." Daisy Willow nodded.
"...Additionally, I was wondering when you and Elena might be available. My grandfather would like to meet you." As Daisy Willow thought that Simon had nothing else to say, he suddenly broached the subject a bit awkwardly.
What Daisy Willow didn’t know was that on the second day after Simon and Irene Houston returned to Kyoto, Irene presented a divorce agreement she had already drafted for him to sign. Irene wanted nothing, as she had originally intended to distance herself from the world. She was leaving with nothing, including her former assets, all of which she left to her children.
Simon did not try to persuade her otherwise and signed the agreement. The two were divorced.
However, Irene was still living in the Carrington Family household. It turned out she wasn’t as willing to leave her children behind as she thought, and she needed time to say goodbye to them.
Eventually, Simon’s grandfather also found out about the situation. The couple had openly slept in separate rooms in the Carrington Family house. All the while, Liam Carrington had been too young to understand and had not caused any fuss over it. However, Stella Carrington was different. She cried every day, begging her parents not to divorce.
Finally, Mr. Carrington Senior didn’t say much more. Since they had already divorced, there was no point in rehashing the subject. Instead, he found ways to have Simon bring Daisy Willow and Elena over, so he could see the woman who stirred up such a scandal with his grandson.
In his lifetime, Daisy Willow was the first woman to ever be involved in such rumors with Simon Carrington. So, naturally, Mr. Carrington Senior was quite curious about her and didn’t believe anything Simon said to explain the situation.
Left with no choice, Simon had to give in to the curiosity of his grandfather, who was just as persistent as a child. He followed through by having Daisy Willow and Elena grudgingly agree to the meeting.
"We’ll be back in G City in a couple of days." Daisy Willow said, although she was unsure where exactly she was supposed to meet Mr. Carrington Senior.
"Alright, I’ll come to G City to pick you and Elena up and bring you to Kyoto in three days’ time. How does that sound?" Simon considered it for a moment before asking for her opinion in a consultative tone.
"Okay." Daisy Willow nodded in agreement.
With that, the two ended their conversation.
