The family of three was officially back together, and the happiest one was Axel. When he got home, he insisted that Carolline Ruiz help him take a bath and tell him bedtime stories, which was stopped by Bryan Hawkins.

The reason was simple. It’s inappropriate for mothers and sons to share the bathroom together. So, if Axel still needed help taking baths, he should only let Hawkins help. Mother must never.

Axel stared blankly. Carolline didn’t oppose. It was good to make Axel realize it sooner. So, She agreed with her husband’s words. She told the bedtime story to Axel.

Caroline’s voice was soft and soothing. Axel quickly drifted off to sleep.

Although, she was on her period, Carolline still returned to the Main Bedroom. She had become accustomed to having Hawkins holding her as they fell asleep. It was quite an adjustment not having that.

So you could say, habit is a scary thing.

Bryan Hawkins had already taken his bath and was in bed looking at his phone. When Ruiz came in, he conscientiously put his phone to the bedside, waving at Caroline, "Come here."

Caroline had also just finished her bath. She crawled towards him and snuggled into his arms. She felt unimaginably happy, "I wish Daisy Willow could also find her happiness. If Cole Duncan were a man, she and Elena Duncan wouldn’t have to suffer so much."

"Anything else?" Bryan asked. It was their time, and she was thinking about others. He really wanted to pinch her nose to see if she would realize that at times like this she should be focused on him.

"What?" Caroline looked up, not quite understanding his meaning.

"Who else do you hope will be happy? My worrywart of a wife." Bryan reached out, pinched her nose. He couldn’t touch her long, or he would have a hard time.

"Yes, and also Celia Wade, and Avery." They all make her quite worried. She really didn’t want Avery to follow Daisy Willow’s footsteps, she truly believed that Kent Auclair was not suitable for Avery. Their personalities clashed greatly.

"Can you stop thinking about others and think more about me?" Bryan couldn’t stand it anymore and was clearly jealous.

Caroline pouted, wasn’t she already in his arms? Besides, they were both right here, what was there to think about? But Bryan evidently didn’t think so. Caroline didn’t dare say these things out loud.

The two chatted for a while until Caroline started yawning incessantly. She finally fell silent. Bryan Hawkins happily snuggled against his wife, and they went to sleep together.

The following day, Caroline was on the day shift, which lasts the entire day.

Because there was a new nurse on bereavement leave, the shift schedule got messed up. On regular days, Caroline would have been off after the morning shift, but it turned chaotic all of a sudden.

Her schedule was a mess, as long as others’ schedules could maintain mostly normal, it’s alright.

At the hospital entrance, Ruiz ran into Charlotte Clark again. Ruiz didn’t pay her any attention. Clark smiled at her. Ruiz is blunt, she doesn’t like to beat around the bush. Hence, she makes it very obvious when she doesn’t like someone.

Except for the previous Matilda Ferguson, Ruiz has never been this frank with people around her.

Charlotte Clark’s smile froze on her face. She had thought a smile could settle their scores, as it always did before with Ruiz. But she never expected Ruiz would be so angry this time.

Clark didn’t understand. Actually, everyone has their bottom line. They can usually forgive if their bottom line hasn’t been crossed. But once it’s crossed, can’t even consider forgiveness. Even if the person smiles their face off, it won’t return to how it was before.
