Chapter 445: Chapter 445: Returning Early (5)

She had always thought that the three of them were getting along quite well, but now Daisy Willow’s actions made her panic. She had just gotten used to having them, mother and daughter, in her life. Was she about to lose them?

Before they arrived, life for her had been quite lonely and bitter. Therefore, their presence in her life was a blessing. They were providing companionship that helped her through this lonely period.

"Celia, I’m not moving. I’ve reserved tickets to return to the old house tomorrow. I want to bring Elena back to visit her grandparents. She’s never met them before." Seeing the misunderstanding, Daisy Willow quickly explained, "We’ll be back in about three days."

"...Oh, so that’s what it is. You really scared me. I thought you were unhappy and wanted to leave me. As long as you’re not leaving, that’s fine." Celia Wade patted her chest, relieved that she had just been frightened by a misunderstanding.

Elena also had her bag ready, "Mom, Auntie Celia is hungry, and I’m hungry too. Can we start dinner?"

Celia Wade finished work at six and usually got home by six-thirty. Daisy Willow and Elena always waited for her to return before starting dinner. At first, Celia felt bad about it, thinking that it wasn’t good for Elena to have dinner so late. But Daisy Willow said it was fine since they used to have dinner at six or six-thirty when it was just the two of them.

"Alright, let’s eat. Celia, let’s go have dinner." Daisy Willow spoke to Celia.

"Sure, I’m really hungry. Elena really knows me well." Celia Wade walked hand in hand with Elena to the dining room, where the three of them enjoyed a simple yet delicious home-cooked meal.

"Daisy, your cooking is excellent. When you come back, teach me how to cook if you have time, alright?" Celia Wade was envious of those who could cook. She had always wanted to learn, but her lack of talent had always been a problem.

Eventually, she was too embarrassed to sign up for any more so-called cooking classes, as it only made her look foolish.

"Sure, it’s good for a girl to learn some cooking skills, so you won’t starve when you’re on your own." Daisy Willow agreed. In the past, her mother taught her cooking, saying that a woman with good culinary skills could marry a good husband. Now she thought differently. Having good cooking skills was mostly for herself and her child. Men were not very reliable.

Her failed marriage to Cole Duncan had opened her eyes to many things.

"Yes, you’re right. But for the three days while you’re gone, I’ll have to resort to fast food again. Poor my stomach. It’s just gotten used to good food, and now it has to deal with junk again." Celia pretended to be dramatic.

Daisy Willow couldn’t bear to see her like this, "Maybe we’ll be back in less than three days."

"No, Daisy, you should take this rare opportunity to visit home and spend time with your parents. Besides, Elena hasn’t met her grandparents yet. Don’t worry about me. I was just exaggerating. It’s fine if you stay for a few more days." Celia’s last words were somewhat insincere, but she really hoped Daisy would take this time to be with her own parents.

As for herself, she would also like to accompany her father, but he still didn’t forgive her and refused to even see her.

"You don’t know how worried I am that they still won’t forgive me. When I married Cole Duncan, I went against their strong opposition, and they eventually cut ties with me. They told me if I ever regretted it, I shouldn’t go looking for them." When Daisy Willow thought about the past, her heart filled with unease.
