As she spoke, Mother Duncan tried to continue forward, grabbing Elena, who was hiding behind Katie, but at that moment, the butler stepped in to report, "Madam, young master, something bad has happened. The police are at the door, saying they’ve received a report of child abuse happening here."

The butler’s face didn’t look too good because Daisy Willow was the one who called the police, and quite a number of police officers had arrived, along with two other people who seemed not to be trifled with.

"What?!" Mother Duncan couldn’t believe it. Didn’t these police officers know about the Duncan family?

"Take me out to see them." She refused to believe that someone had called the police who were so audacious to accuse them of child abuse.

Mother Duncan walked out to face Carolline Ruiz and Daisy Willow head-on, and her eyes turned cold, "Who let you in? Without the owner’s permission, this is trespassing. Do you understand?"

"Everyone here understands better than you." Daisy Willow saw Mother Duncan and thought of the way she had treated her two hours prior, causing her body to tremble with anger. She couldn’t even utter a word for a moment, but Carolline couldn’t help but retort. For a woman with no education to come up and question if they knew the law?

It wasn’t that she looked down on uneducated people, but an uneducated and unreasonable woman like this was truly a first for her.

"Daisy Willow, you even found helpers. You’re quite capable now, aren’t you?" It was Carolline again, and a trace of indignation flashed through Mother Duncan’s eyes. How did this girl become so close with Daisy Willow?

"Mrs. Duncan, hello. I am Edo Holt, a police officer from the XX District. This is my police badge. We have received a report that there are detained children in your house. I am here to investigate. These are our officers." Edo Holt walked up to Mrs. Duncan, gave her a salute, and then presented his badge with both hands.

"There are plenty of people pretending to be police officers these days. There are many fake police badges as well. Why should I believe you?" Mrs. Duncan didn’t even look at Edo Holt, whose face was changing.

In reality, when she saw Edo Holt’s darkened face, she was scared on the inside but pretended to be calm on the outside. She didn’t believe that a police officer would dare to strike an old woman like her. If he dared, she’d go to the police station and file a complaint.

"Is that so? If Mrs. Duncan doesn’t believe me, please ask Mr. Duncan to come out. I believe that someone in the Duncan family must have functioning eyes." Edo Holt slowly picked up his badge, and since someone wasn’t willing to look at it, he just put it away and tucked it into his pocket. After all, he had gone through the procedure.

Edo Holt was not someone to be trifled with either. When he spoke, Mrs. Duncan naturally understood his sarcasm. He was mocking her for being an old woman with poor judgment. Just a low-level police officer, yet he dared to insult her like this.

Carolline couldn’t help but chuckle. This police officer named Edo Holt was really talented. He could insult someone without using a single filthy word.
