Carolline didn’t say anything, and they waited with Elena for almost twenty minutes. Almost all the parents and children from the kindergarten had left, and even Emily Hill came out, but Daisy still hadn’t arrived.

Emily Hill quickly walked over and asked, "Elena, has your mother not arrived yet?"

"Yes, Principal Hill," Elena nodded with red eyes. In the past, her mother had never been late. She was worried that something might have happened to her mother.

"Then, let Principal Hill help you call your mother." Emily Hill took out her phone to make a call, as she had the contact numbers for all the parents of the children in her phone.

"Thank you, Principal Hill," Elena said very politely.

"You’re welcome, dear," Emily Hill nodded and then dialed Daisy’s number, but Daisy’s phone was turned off. Emily Hill frowned and called again, but the result was the same. "Why is your mother’s phone turned off?"

Carolline could guess who had made this request, but wasn’t that Mrs. Duncan a bit too much? Her son was in the hospital, which was indeed important, but wasn’t her granddaughter also important?

If Cole never had any more children, Elena would be the only child of the Duncan Family. This grandmother really didn’t know what she was thinking.
