Chapter 329: Chapter 329: Carolline Ruiz Gets Angry (1)
At this moment, Elena and Axel were happily playing together on their field trip. Wherever Axel went, Elena would follow him, and he would also protect Elena. Elena hadn’t realized that such a big change had already taken place at home.
In the afternoon, Bryan picked up Carolline first, then went to pick up Axel.
At the kindergarten, Elena and Axel stood hand-in-hand at the door waiting. Axel’s friends teased the two of them, and both children blushed a little, but they didn’t let go of each other’s hands.
Both of them had small red flowers on their chests. The field trip was over today, and starting tomorrow, it would officially be summer vacation. So the two little friends were somewhat reluctant to part, as they knew that the summer vacation would last for two months.
At this time of the day, Daisy Willow would have already come to pick up Elena, but she hadn’t arrived yet. Axel saw his parents and said, "Mom and Dad, Aunt Daisy hasn’t come yet, let’s wait here with Elena together."
"Okay," Carolline nodded. They had forgotten to go to the ward to check on Daisy’s condition just now. With a mother-in-law like that, Daisy might have been forced to stay with Cole all day.
"Dad, we’re thirsty and we want to drink yogurt." Axel asked Bryan. Mainly because Elena loved yogurt, and Aunt Daisy would always prepare a cup for her when she came to pick her up in the past.
"Okay, Dad will buy some." Bryan went to the nearby Cake Shop and bought a cup of yogurt and a snack for each of them.
Carolline didn’t say anything, and they waited with Elena for almost twenty minutes. Almost all the parents and children from the kindergarten had left, and even Emily Hill came out, but Daisy still hadn’t arrived.
Emily Hill quickly walked over and asked, "Elena, has your mother not arrived yet?"
"Yes, Principal Hill," Elena nodded with red eyes. In the past, her mother had never been late. She was worried that something might have happened to her mother.
"Then, let Principal Hill help you call your mother." Emily Hill took out her phone to make a call, as she had the contact numbers for all the parents of the children in her phone.
"Thank you, Principal Hill," Elena said very politely.
"You’re welcome, dear," Emily Hill nodded and then dialed Daisy’s number, but Daisy’s phone was turned off. Emily Hill frowned and called again, but the result was the same. "Why is your mother’s phone turned off?"
Carolline could guess who had made this request, but wasn’t that Mrs. Duncan a bit too much? Her son was in the hospital, which was indeed important, but wasn’t her granddaughter also important?
If Cole never had any more children, Elena would be the only child of the Duncan Family. This grandmother really didn’t know what she was thinking.
Carolline felt extremely angry at that moment, but she didn’t tell Elena the truth, considering that Elena was still young.
Elena burst into tears, fearing that something had happened to her mother. "Auntie, could something have happened to my mom?"
Otherwise, her mother wouldn’t possibly not come to pick her up.
Carolline quickly hugged Elena and said, "Elena, be good. Auntie promises you that nothing will happen to your mom."
Just then, the butler of the Duncan Family’s villa hurried over. She called out to Elena, "Miss, why are you crying? I’m sorry, Grandma Butler is late."
Only then did Elena open her tearful eyes and see that it was Dad and Grandma’s housekeeper who had come to pick her up. She called out to her, "Grandma Butler–"
There was a hint of grievance in her voice. Grandma Butler had picked her up before, at times when her dad and mom were fighting. Did that mean her parents had had another fight today?
