It was their own home, an apartment in the City Centre at Bluen Lake Wonderland, which Bryan Hawkins had someone renovate again; both the interior and exterior were entirely revamped. Initially, he had planned to buy a new property, but Carolline Ruiz felt it wasn’t necessary.

Within a week after the couple acquired their marriage certificate, the family moved from the Ruiz Family home to their own place. Carolline only stayed at her parents’ house in special circumstances; otherwise, they spent their time at their City Centre home.

Carolline also learned how to drive; over the years, she had picked up many skills.

Despite this, Bryan Hawkins still insisted on driving both his wife to work and his child to school every day before heading to Hawkins Family.

The days went by quickly, and after having a wife and child, Bryan Hawkins felt his life was full of sweetness. Xavier Estrada would never forget, after returning to work from a week-long holiday, that his boss had completely transformed within just a week.

Although Xavier knew something good must have happened to Bryan Hawkins, as a dutiful subordinate, he never asked about his boss’s personal life or what he had been busy with that week.

However, it was obvious from the dazzling ring on Bryan’s ring finger and his occasional smiles that something must have settled with Carolline Ruiz.

Xavier Estrada was happy for Bryan Hawkins as well.

One day, just as it was nearing the end of the workday around 4:50 pm, Bryan Hawkins started packing up to leave when he received a call from his grandma.

Leaning on her cane, she reprimanded, "You’re getting busier and busier, aren’t you? So busy that, after being back for so long, you only visited me once and then disappeared. If I hadn’t asked around, I wouldn’t even know you were still here."

"Grandma, is something wrong? Since I’ve decided to stay, don’t we have plenty of time together? Let me deal with some things first, and then I’ll come back," Bryan Hawkins didn’t mind being chided, as he was in a good mood.

"Come home for dinner tonight; I have something to discuss with you." Bryan’s grandmother hung up the phone without waiting for his response.

Tonight, Carolline was working the night shift, and Bryan had planned to treat Axel to his much-desired steak dinner. It seemed that their plans would have to be postponed. Reluctantly, he called Emily Hill, who agreed to take care of Axel. She usually waited until Bryan picked up Axel before returning home, so she readily consented when he called.

Emily Hill, as Axel’s grandmother, missed the little boy after not seeing him for almost half a month. She was naturally delighted to have him stay with her for the night. After informing Carolline Ruiz over the phone that Axel would be staying at his grandparents’ house, Bryan finally changed course and headed back to the Hawkins Mansion.

Upon returning home, Bryan discovered that Madelyn Lincoln was pregnant; the family was overjoyed, especially his grandmother.

After giving a money gift as the eldest uncle, Bryan secretly grew annoyed; an unborn child was already making everyone this excited. He thought, wait until he had the chance to bring Axel back and let’s see how proudthe second grandchild could be.

Bryan Hawkins sat quietly, no one paying attention to his thoughts. After all, as soon as William Hawkins got the money for his soon-to-be-born baby, he escorted Madelyn Lincoln upstairs.

Now that Madelyn Lincoln was the family’s most important protected species, her husband naturally had to be careful in looking after her.
