Chapter 264: Chapter 264: Shameless (3)
"Well, the 500,000 probably won’t be enough. Principal Jin’s proposal is here. I’ve already looked at it in the car. I printed it out just before I came back. Is there any problem with it? Do you want to have a look first before we continue talking?" Emily Hill pushed the A4 paper in her hand across.
"No need, Auntie has already seen it, so there must not be any problems. Just let me know how much funding is needed," replied Bryan Hawkins, shaking his head in refusal. He didn’t understand it anyway. The reason for his sudden idea of sponsoring their kindergarten was nothing more than to get a chance to get close to Axel. Now that Axel didn’t even reject him, it was truly a pleasant surprise for him.
"Alright, as expected of a big tycoon, you’re really straightforward. Initially, I estimate at least 2 million," said Emily Hill, raising her eyebrows. She couldn’t believe that this man agreed to provide a sponsorship of millions without looking at anything. Wasn’t he afraid that they would swindle him?
"Okay, I’ll go to the bank this afternoon and transfer the money to you. It should arrive before three o’clock," Bryan Hawkins agreed to the 2 million without even furrowing his brow.
Now it was Emily Hill’s turn to be stunned. She just wanted to deliberately make things difficult for him, so she purposely raised the amount by 500,000. However, this guy in front of her agreed so easily, even saying that the money would be in the account by this afternoon at three.
Two million! Did he really not need to go through any procedures and just transfer her the money directly?
"Auntie, is there a problem?" Bryan Hawkins couldn’t understand Emily Hill’s reaction and didn’t know what she was thinking.
"Uh, no problem. On behalf of Principal Jin, all the teachers, and the children of Star Kindergarten, I’d like to thank Mr. Hawkins for his generous sponsorship," Emily Hill said in a formulaic tone.
"You’re welcome," Bryan Hawkins replied modestly, feeling his efforts were but a small contribution.
With the formal business out of the way, it was time to talk about personal matters.
"So, now that we’ve talked about the official business, let’s discuss some private matters. Are you planning to leave again during this visit?" This question was asked on behalf of her beloved grandson.
Bryan Hawkins paused for a while, feeling as if everyone was concerned about this issue. Perhaps he should hold a press conference before returning to work next week and announce his decision not to leave.
"I won’t leave, Auntie," Bryan Hawkins shook his head.
"That’s good to hear. Axel will be happy." Emily Hill seemed to breathe a sigh of relief, not noticing Carolline Ruiz, who was busy preparing lunch in the kitchen. Of course, she thought to herself that Carolline must be happy too.
As for whether she, as a mother and grandmother, was happy or unhappy about this situation, that no longer mattered.
"So, how are things going between you and Carolline?" Emily Hill was a straightforward person. Although she wanted to teach Bryan Hawkins a lesson, she knew her daughter’s heart was set on this man alone.
She just wanted to give him a hard time for a while, but she feared her daughter might not be able to handle it. So, she gave up on the idea.
Moreover, throughout the years, Carolline had suffered many grievances in the Ruiz family compound because of him. This year, Emily Hill hoped that when she went back to the Ruiz family for the New Year, Carolline would be able to hold her head up high.
Especially since Bryan Hawkins’ identity now was different than a few years ago. She could already imagine the scene when Axel walked hand in hand with Bryan Hawkins back to the Ruiz family compound. The scene would surely be incredibly imposing and impressive.
"We haven’t talked yet. We had dinner together last night, but we haven’t reached any conclusions," Bryan Hawkins answered after a moment of slow comprehension of Emily Hill’s meaning. "I asked her to talk the day after tomorrow. She has that day off."
"Well, have a good talk. We’ve long decided not to interfere with your relationship, so your future is up to the two of you," said Emily Hill, looking up at Carolline, who was busy cooking lunch in the kitchen.
