Carolline Ruiz covered her mouth in surprise. What had just happened in the span of a few minutes?

Bryan Hawkins’ focus was entirely on Joyce Lopez, so he didn’t notice Carolinne Ruiz and Andy Aguirre standing nearby. As soon as the elevator door opened, he carried the woman in his arms into the elevator.

Shortly after, about a dozen security guards escorted an old man with white hair out of the restroom.

Xavier Estrada ignited a 120 alarm, but did not follow them downstairs. Instead, he asked the duty manager if any members of the Lopez Family were dining here. Upon confirmation, he headed towards the private room booked by the family.

And that’s when Xavier saw Carolline. He also noticed Andy standing next to her, and Carolinne’s very obvious pregnant belly. He was stunned for a moment, before finally speaking, "...Ms. Carolline Ruiz?"

"What’s going on?" The scene had left Carolinne quite shaken, but she found herself asking the question anyway.

"Mr. George Morris’ father came for revenge on Mr. Hawkins because of his son. Miss Lopez probably took a hit for Mr. Hawkins. Ms. Carolline..." Xavier wanted to say more, but at that moment, Joyce’s mother emerged from the Lopez family’s private room. Concerned about her daughter for having not seen her for a while, she had come to look for her.

As soon as she stepped out of the private room, she heard Xavier’s words. The corridor was quiet, so she could hear Xavier’s every word clearly. Mrs. Lopez immediately rushed towards Xavier, "What did you just say? What happened to my Joyce?"

"Er, Mrs. Lopez, please don’t panic, let me explain." Xavier knew Mrs. Lopez, after all, he had met many people in this circle. But just now, he wanted to explain to Carolline. He was worried Carolline might have misunderstood something.

In his view, even if Bryan was preoccupied with Joyce right now and did not notice Carolline, it was purely because Joyce had been injured. It did not mean Bryan had feelings for Joyce.

However, with Mrs. Lopez present, he definitely couldn’t explain to Carolline. He could only fully explain Joyce’s situation to Mrs. Lopez first.

Upon hearing the full story, Mrs. Lopez’s face drained of color and she stumbled back, inadvertently bumping into Carolline, not even noticing in her distress.

Andy quickly steadied Carolline, asking worriedly, "Are you alright?"

"I’m fine, let’s go inside." At that moment, Carolline felt she was being selfish and cold-hearted. She was relieved that Bryan Hawkins was fine. Before going inside, she turned back to look at Xavier. She wanted to say something, but in the end, she only opened her mouth but didn’t utter a word.

After Carolline and Andy entered the room and closed the door, Xavier suddenly slapped himself. At that moment, he was filled with regret. How had everything coincidentally come together like this?

After Carolline and Andy went inside, the two families have almost finished their dinner. Being pregnant, Carolline needed to go to bed early, and everyone being medical professionals, naturally proposed to leave earlier.

Emily Hill paid the bill. From the time Carolline went in, she hadn’t spoken a word the entire time. She seemed out of sorts, with a far-off look in her eyes.

There was one thing she was sure of - she had probably placed an insurmountable distance between her and Bryan Hawkins this time.

It was clear that Joyce truly loved him. Tonight’s events would surely win Bryan’s heart. Joyce has finally succeeded, Carolline thought with a bitter smile.

Andy, supporting Carolline as they walked, said, "Don’t be upset. Even if he is good to that woman, it’s probably just out of guilt."

"No, I want them to be together." Carolline lifted her head to look at Andy. If Bryan was happy, then her baby would no longer matter to the Hawkins family. She wouldn’t have to worry that they would come to take her child if they found out about its existence, as long as Bryan had a new family.
