Chapter 206: Chapter 206: Whose Child (4)

Carolline walked over and sat down next to them. Emily Hill pushed a glass of warm milk in front of her, "Warm, drink it slowly."

"Thank you, Mom." Carolline cradled the milk glass in both hands and took a few sips slowly.

"Carolline, what are your plans now?" Henry Ruiz turned off the TV and asked his daughter.

"I’ll have the baby and raise it on my own." Carolline lowered her eyes. The marriage certificate in her drawer probably had no legal significance anymore.

"Does he know you’re pregnant?" Henry Ruiz continued, knowing who the father was. After Emily Hill returned, she learned to discuss things with him and even asked if they should call Bryan Hawkins to talk.

Henry Ruiz’s idea was to respect Carolline’s opinion. If she wanted to talk to Bryan Hawkins, they would find him. If she didn’t want to, he wouldn’t force her. After all, the priority was his daughter’s opinion.

"I don’t know." Carolline shook her head, she hadn’t told him, and she didn’t know how to tell him.

Use the child to bind him? She didn’t want to do that.

However, giving birth to their child was something she willingly agreed to.

"This house is for you and your future baby. It’s fully furnished, so you can officially move in when you take maternity leave. It’s in the West District, far from the Hawkins family, so you probably won’t run into them." Henry Ruiz suddenly took out a set of keys and placed them on the coffee table. Not only was Carolline surprised, but Emily Hill was also stunned.

When did the old man prepare all these things behind her back?

Henry Ruiz didn’t feel like explaining. Over the years, he had let his wife take care of the household, but he still had some money in his personal stash. That money was used to occasionally buy stocks or save up daily expenses to invest in some funds. Gradually, he had saved enough money for a house.

When Emily Hill came home and told him about the situation, he took the time to look at houses whenever he could. He bought this house in the West District to help Carolline avoid encountering the Hawkins family. Since she had decided to raise the child on her own, they would not go to the Hawkins family to discuss the matter. And also, to allow her to live a peaceful life, free from her grandfather’s nagging.

"My decision is not to condone your behavior, but since it has happened, we should discuss how to deal with it together. The child is innocent. If you want to have the baby, I won’t object. This is the only thing I can do to help you and the baby. Take some time with your mom to see if there’s anything missing in the new house? Drink your milk, and then go to sleep." Henry Ruiz stood up and walked to his bedroom.

"Hurry up and drink your milk. I’m going to ask your dad where he got all this money from, hiding it behind my back." Emily Hill’s focus shifted suddenly. Before leaving, she didn’t forget to remind Carolline to drink her milk.

Carolline watched her parents enter the bedroom one after the other. As soon as Emily Hill entered the room, she locked the door. Carolline smiled faintly, holding the key in her hand, feeling the heavy love of her parents. She felt very warm.

She believed that even if her child lacked a father’s love in the future, with such lovely grandparents, they would never become a child lacking in love. She couldn’t help but caress her stomach.

It seemed like the little baby could feel it too, gently kicking its limbs, interacting with its mother.

Ever since she started feeling the baby’s movements, Carolline thought that the child in her belly was gentle towards her, nothing like the aggressive punches and kicks described in books that kept mothers awake at night.

Her baby would only move a little when she voluntarily touched her belly. As soon as her hand left her stomach, her baby would obediently stay still inside.
