"Hmph, you know you’re wilful. Don’t worry, even if Andy and Uncle Aguirre are willing to accept you now, I don’t have the face to send you to their home."

Back then, she seemed to say that Andy was more suitable for their family’s Carolline. Indeed, the two children grew up together, and both became doctors. They naturally had more topics to share. Time passed quickly. Day by day, month by month, their six-month Countryside medical support mission was about to end in a month. Carolline had established deep friendships with the villagers.

Her belly grew bigger and bigger. When the village women who had given birth had free time, they would talk to Carolline about things to pay attention to during childbirth and the hardships of raising children afterwards.

Carolline listened carefully, sometimes taking notes. Some villagers even brought her Free-range Eggs from their own hens to eat, saying that both she and the child needed nutrition, and that she looked skinny everywhere except for her belly.

Carolline was indeed a little skinny. She didn’t know why, but aside from her belly getting bigger, her other parts seemed fine. She ate a lot, mostly green and healthy food, so maybe the food she ate just went to the child.

One day, it was time for her to go to the Town Hospital for a prenatal checkup. Andy drove her there.

Andy never mentioned the conversation he had with Emily that day. Carolline didn’t ask either. They got along just as well as before, and Carolline still treated him as her best friend.
