Chapter 199: Chapter 199: Five Months Later (5)

"Mom knows now, come over and lie on the bed, I’m going to talk to Andy." Emily Hill stood up, her temper was gone, and her tone softened. Her personality was like that; she could explode when angry, but she could also accept even the most difficult facts quickly. Besides, it was Carolline’s child, which made her a grandmother or grandfather.

Thinking about it from another perspective, she felt somewhat happy about becoming a grandmother.

"Mom, don’t even think about letting Andy accept me and the child. I won’t have anything to do with him, and I don’t want our family’s relationship with Uncle Aguirre to be affected because of my wilfulness." Carolline seemed to guess what Emily was going to talk about with Andy.

It wasn’t until now that Carolline realized how much Andy had cared for her all these years because he loved her. Even if he was willing to bear everything, she couldn’t bear to let him face all those judgmental looks in the future. It would be better for her to face it alone.

"Hmph, you know you’re wilful. Don’t worry, even if Andy and Uncle Aguirre are willing to accept you now, I don’t have the face to send you to their home."

Back then, she seemed to say that Andy was more suitable for their family’s Carolline. Indeed, the two children grew up together, and both became doctors. They naturally had more topics to share. Furthermore, the two families knew each other well, and there wasn’t a huge gap between them, making it easier to get along in the future.

However, now, even if Andy was really willing to accept Carolline, she would feel embarrassed to let Carolline go to the Aguirre Family with a big belly. Even if Carolline had an abortion and went there, she would still feel inferior.

She really wanted to go find Bryan Hawkins again. Carolline was pregnant, and as a man, he could just ignore her. That was really something. However, the most important thing now was to take care of Carolline and the child in her womb.

She wanted to talk to Andy to make things clear and ask him not to focus on Carolline anymore.

She came this time not only for Carolline but also for Andy.

Carolline didn’t want to know what Emily talked about with Andy. Anyway, she had made up her mind, and no one could change it.

Afterward, Emily took good care of Carolline, helping the Village Chief’s wife cook three meals a day. When kindergarten started, Emily had to leave. The Village Chief’s wife told Carolline and Andy that they had a very good mother.

Carolline just smiled. She had always been grateful for having such parents. Even though Emily occasionally lost her temper and slapped her regardless of the occasion, she still loved her.

Time passed quickly. Day by day, month by month, their six-month Countryside medical support mission was about to end in a month. Carolline had established deep friendships with the villagers.

Her belly grew bigger and bigger. When the village women who had given birth had free time, they would talk to Carolline about things to pay attention to during childbirth and the hardships of raising children afterwards.

Carolline listened carefully, sometimes taking notes. Some villagers even brought her Free-range Eggs from their own hens to eat, saying that both she and the child needed nutrition, and that she looked skinny everywhere except for her belly.

Carolline was indeed a little skinny. She didn’t know why, but aside from her belly getting bigger, her other parts seemed fine. She ate a lot, mostly green and healthy food, so maybe the food she ate just went to the child.

If that was the case, she was actually quite happy.

One day, it was time for her to go to the Town Hospital for a prenatal checkup. Andy drove her there.

Andy never mentioned the conversation he had with Emily that day. Carolline didn’t ask either. They got along just as well as before, and Carolline still treated him as her best friend.
