Chapter 129: Chapter 129: Staying overnight at the Villa (1) Chapter 129: Chapter 129: Staying overnight at the Villa (1) Regarding the wound, Carolline explained it to Lucy again using their usual consistent excuse for outsiders. Lucy believed it but couldn’t help shaking her head in pity for Carolline’s bad luck.

Bryan Hawkins glanced at the scar on Carolline’s neck. The doctor had said it would leave a scar, and it seemed to be true. Seeing this scar, Bryan hated Matilda Ferguson even more.

This woman had the audacity to come to him to plead for mercy. Asking her to pay 5 million in compensation was the least punishment – not letting her go to jail was already being lenient.

Because Carolline and her friends unexpectedly joined the dinner, the original purpose of the gathering was put aside, turning the event into a casual meal between friends.

After dinner, Andy received a call from Emily Hill asking where they were and when they would be coming home.

Andy asked Carolline for her opinion. Carolline looked across the table at Bryan Hawkins but didn’t receive any eye contact from him. She told Andy they would be leaving soon.

Andy relayed this to Emily on the phone. Carolline and Andy both stood up, preparing to leave, their synchronized actions showcasing their close relationship.

Even Bryan Hawkins felt a touch of disbelief at the coordination. However, Carolline and Andy remained oblivious. Carolline said, “We should get going now.”

“Leaving just like that? I haven’t gotten an autograph yet.” Megan Clifton pouted. She thought she could get Lucy’s signature or even take a photo after dinner.

She never expected Carolline and Andy to know Lucy, having been friends since childhood.

“Isn’t your cousin also a celebrity?” Andy rolled his eyes. He was referring to Matilda Ferguson but couldn’t remember her name, only knowing she was Megan’s cousin.

“Can you not bring that up? It’s totally ruined my mood.” Megan Clifton was furious. Matilda Ferguson’s scandal was a huge embarrassment, and the Clifton family wanted nothing to do with the Fergusons anymore.

The entire Ferguson family were opportunistic, only interested in their own gains, which left a bad taste in Megan’s mouth.

Some time ago, her aunt had come to their house asking for money. Her father couldn’t stand it, but her mother was softhearted and secretly gave some money to her aunt. Megan herself decided to turn a blind eye to the matter.

After all, her mother wasn’t foolish enough to give away all the money.

Megan huffed and left without a word. The only people she was familiar with in the room were Carolline and Andy, so there was no need to say goodbye to anyone else.

“Well, we are leaving now, sorry for any inconvenience caused.” Andy said with some embarrassment to Bryan Hawkins and Jordy Wade before following Megan out.

Carolline followed them but was stopped by Lucy, “Are you guys really leaving?”

Her eyes glanced unintentionally at the unresponsive Bryan Hawkins. Carolline smiled, “Yes, you guys continue talking.”

Lucy reluctantly let her go. As she sat back down, Lucy glared at the unresponsive Bryan Hawkins, “You’re just going to let her leave like that?”

Joyce Lopez was confused by Lucy’s strange behavior. Were Bryan and her friend that close?

“Shall we find a place and continue our discussion, Ms. Lucy?” Without acknowledging Lucy’s question, Bryan turned his attention to Jordy Wade.

“Hey, I wanna ask…” Lucy tried to inquire if there was a disagreement between the two, but Jordy stopped her, “Celia, please separate your personal and professional matters. We do not have time to waste.”

“…” Lucy pouted. Every time her big brother spoke to her so seriously, she knew she couldn’t continue being willful. For some reason, she might be fearless to the world, but she was no match for her own big brother.
