Chapter 126: Chapter 126: Being Denied (6) Chapter 126: Chapter 126: Being Denied (6) “Andy Aguirre will be returning from studying abroad in six months, and he will be working in the same department as Carolline Ruiz. They share common interests and will have many topics to discuss living together. Mr. Hawkins, I hope you can help to make it happen.”
“How exactly do you want me to help, Auntie?” Bryan Hawkins turned off the screen of the phone and handed it back to Emily Hill, trying hard not to mention that Carolline was already his wife.
He knew the kidnapping incident had caused psychological trauma for Emily, and he had chosen to handle it this way because he had confidence that everything would turn out well.
Besides, he had alerted Benjamin Ford, so George Morris, that little brat, must be afraid to make any more moves against him. However, it would be somewhat impossible for him to make George pay for his actions in the past.
“Keep your distance from Carolline and let her slowly become disappointed in you,” Emily said frankly.
Bryan suddenly felt heartbroken. On New Year’s Eve, he had promised Carolline that he would give her a year, and next year, he would personally set off fireworks for her. But now, he had to make such a promise to Emily.
After all, he had not given up on dealing with George Morris yet. And with people like George and Matilda Ferguson, who knows what kind of madness they might conjure up and what extreme actions they might take against Carolline.
He couldn’t appear too close to Carolline, or let them know that she was his true Achilles heel. While he couldn’t be sure about Matilda’s intentions, George was ruthless. If he found out about Carolline’s value to them, it would certainly harm her.
“…Alright, I promise you, Auntie.” Bryan nodded, finally giving his assurance.
“I want to thank you and also apologize for my actions that day. It was really too much.” Emily, a person with a clear line between love and hate, acknowledged her mistakes.
“Fine.” Bryan accepted.
“Can you also tell your grandma that Carolline won’t be keeping her company in the future? Is that okay?” Emily thought of Bryan’s grandmother, who was quite fond of Carolline.
“Don’t worry, Auntie. I know what to do.” Bryan nodded.
“Alright, then. I have some other matters to attend to, so I’ll leave first.” Emily was very satisfied. She didn’t expect it to be so easy to persuade Bryan. Originally, she thought she would have to put up quite a fight just to convince him.
Throughout the entire conversation, she never had a chance to drink the coffee Bryan had ordered for her.
Bryan paid the bill and left the café as well.
As soon as he reached the entrance, he encountered the Ferguson family. It seemed they were determined to cling to him. Everywhere he went, they followed like lingering spirits.
“Bryan Hawkins, do you have time to chat?” Ailin Ferguson was much more reasonable than Floyd Ferguson, who just made a fuss and cursed Bryan for his inhumanity whenever he saw him.
Even when they called the police, the police said there was no evidence linking Bryan to Matilda’s ordeal. Bryan had never set foot at the scene of the incident, after all.
The accounts of the other six individuals involved were consistent: Matilda had voluntarily been with them. If she had been forced, there would have been some marks on her body.
Floyd Ferguson could only remain silent with grievances he couldn’t express, forced to watch Bryan moving freely around the city.
“If you want to talk, let’s talk.” Bryan turned around, re-entered, and casually sat down again.
He was in a bad mood today, so if the Ferguson family wanted to push themselves into his path, he would let them. He never intended to utterly destroy them before, but since they were determined to cling to him, he would show them his true capabilities. His frustrations needed a vent, and they provided the perfect opportunity.</
