Chapter 1178: 021 Joyful Big Family (Full Text Finale)_4

Of course, there were also Henry Ruiz and Emily Hill, with their elders, and even their elders’ elders attending, which gave Elena Duncan quite a shock.

"Grandpa, Grandma, mom, dad, all the aunties and uncles, how did you all get here?" Axel Hawkins was somewhat caught between laughter and tears. At that moment, he and Elena guessed who must have notified these people.

"And you’re still asking? Elena is pregnant. Such big news, and you didn’t tell us! What kind of husband are you? Let me tell you, a woman with a baby bump getting married isn’t quite appropriate. From now on, no matter what, let’s settle your wedding first, alright?" Carolline Ruiz rarely glared at Axel with dominance.

They were about to get married, and his wife was already pregnant—he didn’t know who he learned these tricks from.

Bryan Hawkins saw the look in his wife’s eyes and felt like he was shot while lying down. Back then, they never had a wedding, yet she gave birth to Axel. It wasn’t entirely his fault, was it? He didn’t know about it, and she even mentioned divorce, right?

But his wife blamed him anyway, and there was nothing he could do. After all, whether his wife was right or wrong, she was always right, and all he had to do was go with the flow.

Elena Duncan + Axel Hawkins: "..."

The two were completely exasperated. It was just a routine check-up, and somehow it got misinterpreted as a pregnancy.

Axel Hawkins glared at the dean who arrived late. The dean too was startled by the presence of the elders; she had no idea that all of them would show up.

Moreover, she had just exaggerated a bit. Axel mentioned that Elena vomited early in the morning while brushing her teeth. Based on her years of medical experience, that meant there was at least a fifty percent chance of pregnancy.

Then she got excited because she was possibly the first among their generation to be pregnant, so she couldn’t help sharing this ’great news’ far and wide, not realizing it would cause such a sensation.

With so many elders around, greeting them all was quite exhausting, wasn’t it?

However, just as someone started to greet her, Carolline cut her off, "Enough of the greetings, quickly, arrange a check-up for Elena."

"Yes, yes," agreed Megan Clifton and a few other women, urging along with Carolline.

"Alright, Elena, come with me. First, we’ll do a blood and urine test to see the condition, and then we’ll discuss whether to proceed with an Ultrasound." The dean quickly took the initiative, helping Elena towards the Gynecology Department.

Proceeding with early pregnancy tests, Elena was speechless; but with all the elders present, it was hard to resist cooperation without a good explanation, so she had no choice but to follow the dean.

However, she was truly anxious. With so many people expecting, if it turned out she wasn’t pregnant but had simply had a bad stomach, who knows what the elders would think.

She and Axel exchanged a look, both feeling rather overwhelmed. Axel was even glaring at the dean, the warning was clear in his eyes: if this turned out to be a huge mix-up, she wouldn’t be able to walk away unscathed.

So, as the dean watched Elena get her blood drawn and urine tested, she kept muttering prayers to herself, hoping desperately that Elena was pregnant. "Little baby, please come and save your auntie. I promise I won’t be such a blabbermouth in the future, okay?"

The results of the blood tests would be out in half an hour.

During this half-hour wait, everyone’s expression was very solemn. The dean then slapped her forehead, realizing she should have ordered a quick urine test result when she first issued the urine test—it would have taken only a minute to see if it was a double line or not.

It was all because she was too anxious before, and she forgot to order a quick check on the urine’s basic condition.

Half an hour later, Elena’s test results were ready. Carolline Ruiz and Daisy Willow were the most anxious. Both rushed up to take the report from the doctor’s hand. As a former nurse, Carolline understood all the data clearly.

Seeing the test results, she joyously covered her mouth, "I’m really pregnant, Elena, Axel."

Everyone: "!"

The dean: "?"

She had truly spoken a proverb, no wonder someone had said she could be a witch – get out, he’s the witch, his whole family is witches.

The dean was beside herself with excitement, ha-ha-ha, she finally didn’t have to be despised anymore, nor wait for someone to settle scores with her.

"Little baby, you really did great, Auntie will definitely give you the best gift in the world when you’re born."

However, the dean got overly excited, and when the twins were born, she had to prepare two of the best gifts in the world. At that moment, she sighed again, realizing she really was poor, yet the twins’ father wouldn’t easily let her off the hook.

In the end, the dean passed away.

Elena Duncan and Axel Hawkins hadn’t expected it at all—they were really pregnant. The couple was shocked for a while but also happy about the sudden news of the child.

Everyone offered congratulations, and afterward, Megan Clifton and her group hurriedly said their goodbyes. As they left, the aunts pulled out their phones to call those disappointing sons and daughters of theirs.

Axel Hawkins looked up to the heavens with a deep sigh. He could imagine how lively the upcoming days with Elena Duncan would be, those so-called ’underachievers’ surely going to call and complain.

But, complaints aside, he thought that by the time their little one was born or even during the pregnancy, their little one’s peers would surely end up in the bellies of their respective mothers.

By then, there would be another wave of little ones arriving, then taking over their world.

This is the heritage of humanity, the grandeur of life.

Following closely, Carolline Ruiz and Daisy Willow started their continuous chatter, advising on various precautions, then discussing wedding preparations, the two mothers in serious business discussions.

Elena Duncan and Axel Hawkins exchanged glances, Axel couldn’t help but place his hand on Elena’s belly, gently caressing it, even though at this moment, the little one was still a tiny soybean, but Axel still felt the joy and pride of soon becoming a father.

Elena Duncan held Axel’s hand, turning back to look at their parents. They were once so young, and now their black hair was mixed with a lot of white. Twenty or thirty years later, she and Axel would be the same, perhaps also discussing many things for their own child.

"Axel, I feel so happy," Elena Duncan said sentimentally, grateful to have a husband like him, and parents like Daisy Willow and Simon Carrington, as well as in-laws like Bryan Hawkins and Carolline Ruiz.

Elena Duncan felt that her life couldn’t be more complete.

"Me too," Axel Hawkins reached out and pulled her into his embrace.

The four elders, right there in the hospital corridor, unconcerned about the passersby, continued to discuss the matters they were focused on.

A young couple, not far from them, snuggled up together, patiently watching their parents—a perfect and harmonious scene.

Happiness, eternal!
