Chapter 74: Chapter 74 Outer Mountain

Yue Peng is dead,

so his master, Chen Tianku, came rushing.

Chen Tianku is dead.

So his master,

Beichen Sword Lord, Nine Yin Peak Master, Yao Guang Po Jun Sword Lord also came rushing.

When a personal disciple is killed, the master travels across distances to seek revenge.

There’s always a master if a disciple is killed, a grandmaster if the master is killed.

An eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth,

that’s the Sword Sect; that’s the Mystic Sect.

So people fear the Demon Sect as they fear tigers,

for without being prepared to wipe them out completely or be wiped out entirely, if you dare touch one, there’s a blood-drenched ending of relentless retaliation.

However...

"You say True Monarch Tianku headed to Heng Mountain, but the Sword Monarch inquired around and didn’t find anyone reaching the Heavenly Pillar Peak."

"As for Guangxia Mountain, the mountain gate was invaded, sword array broken, people killed, and swords taken."

Po Jun Sword Lord kept two servants by his side, one named Ding Guang, the other Taoist named Zhao Dan, both Golden Core sword embryos, sword boys hiding their edge.

Now, these two stood left and right behind him, watching Tie Dan kneel before the Xuan Nu Statue, speaking one after another.

Ding Guang said, "Searched the entire Guangxia Mountain region; no trace of living beings or the Sword Furnace."

Zhao Dan said, "If it was an enemy, surely they’ve seized everything, planning to Soul Search and seize, force from us the secret traditions of the Sword Sect."

Ding Guang said, "No traces of sword fights or injuries nearby, True Monarch Tianku’s skills wouldn’t let someone kill soundlessly, maybe this place wasn’t the battlefield."

Zhao Dan said, "Setting aside breaking the mountain gate sword array, few in the world could defeat Immortal Tianku, probably already a National Pillar Spirit Officer of the Demon Palace or a Ten Extremes Venerable Master from the Demon Sect."

Ding Guang said, "Being able to conceal the Heavenly Mechanism so, wielding such unfathomable talents, and having the guts to cross swords with us results in bloodshed, ten to one it’s the Demon Sect."

Zhao Dan said, "He too narrowly escaped the Demon Sect’s grasp of Body Seizing, looks like plans were thorough, intending to massacre the Guangxia Mountain line, usurp afterwards."

Ding Guang said, "So, failing with this kid, knowing the matter failed and secret leaked, they just wiped out the rest not leaving a trace?"

Tie Dan turned his head sharply, looking at them coldly,

"How do you know I tangled with the Demon Sect, or that I wasn’t seized? Perhaps I am of the Demon Sect too."

Ding Guang and Zhao Dan exchanged a glance, Zhao Dan took out a Eight Trigram mirror from his sleeve, flipped it, and shone it on Tie Dan’s face.

The youth in the mirror had blood-red eyes, a murderous intent, and on his forehead, astonishingly, hovered a bloody talisman.

Written stroke by stroke as ’Exterminate’, seemingly cleaved with a sword.

Zhao Dan said, "This is the Blood Extermination Seal, a Primordial Spirit Secret Technique. Killing a person of the Demon Sect would bear this mark, alerting Demon Sect eyes everywhere to kill you, quickly and thoroughly."

Ding Guang said, "You carry this seal and dare return to the mountain, having saved the Shen Family, our Mystic Sect won’t bully you without discerning truths."

Tie Dan stared at the figure in the mirror hard, memorized that face, imprint, then turned his head back, continued staring at the Xuan Nu Statue, silent as before.

Ding Guang and Zhao Dan exchanged a look, fell silent too.

For half the night, the three stood in wordless confrontation inside the cave, when suddenly a burst of bright light flared outside the cave, the sound of the wind brought a sword whistling, Po Jun Sword Lord returned from Kun Country.

He carried the coffin containing the Shen sisters on his right shoulder, in his left hand, between sword fingers, held three treasure swords, for he’d also retrieved the Sword Sect’s flying sword.

"The Demon Sect has departed."

Po Jun Sword Lord entered the cave, glanced around,

"Leave."

Thus, Zhao Dan and Ding Guang bowed, picked up the unresponsive Tie Dan, and took him out of the cave.

The Sword Monarch carried the coffin into the Spirit Pond deep within Yanzi Cave.

Zhao Dan glanced at Tie Dan,

"The Secret Sword is not to be divulged."

Tie Dan made no sound.

After a while, the Sword Monarch came out alone, holding a scroll of the Xuan Nu Statue, handing it to Tie Dan.

"Take it. It’s the Daoist Inheritance of your Guangxia Mountain."

Tie Dan accepted with both hands, remained voiceless, holding the painting scroll tight to his chest.

The Sword Monarch flicked his sleeve,

"Ding Guang, Zhao Dan."

"Present."

The two Taoist children bowed down together.

"Hui Ming Zhan Tie had its sword seal privately unsealed, harming its Primordial Qi, both of you stay to guard Guangxia Mountain!

Furthermore, keep searching! Alive, you must see them; dead, you must find the corpse!"

"We obey the decree."

Ding Guang and Zhao Dan bowed down.

The Sword Monarch scanned Tie Dan,

"Come back to the mountain with me."

Tie Dan stayed silent, anyway there was no choice for him now.

No one was listening to him anymore.

So the Sword Monarch shook his sleeve, and in the blink of an eye, the Sword Wind whirled, rainbow light filled the sky, encompassing the silhouette, rose and slashed the night sky, soaring from Yanzi Peak.

Starlight and shadows shifted like a meteor shower, drawing golden threads in the sky, shifting and flickering behind quickly. In a flash, it sped through tens of thousands of miles, crossing worlds.

Tie Dan had an empty feeling inside, not knowing how long it took before the sword light turned, clouds cleared, revealing a towering Immortal Mountain suddenly entering his view.

Slowly lifting his head to look.

That Immortal Mountain, hovering ethereally as if a mirage, encased almost entirely in thick clouds, like a mighty glacier shrouded by rain clouds, only peaks exposed, colorful and radiant, swords of light reflecting brilliantly as if many suns hid within the clouds, each shining separately, tinting the clouds into a nine-colored rainbow.

Looking down, one saw a rolling sea of clouds, stretching between heaven and earth, covering an unknown thousand-mile span, mist cloaking the unknown extension to the horizon, blocking the world, obscuring the Qiankun.

So observed from a glimpse, one couldn’t truly grasp Honzan’s full visage. Po Jun Sword Monarch obviously wasn’t there for sightseeing with Tie Dan either.

The Sword Rainbow descended quickly in the sky, penetrated the clouds, reached a mountain stream. When Tie Dan realized, feeling his feet upon solid ground, the sword wind scattered the clouds around revealing a platform half an acre large.

Looking around, clouds rolled, mist splashed, this platform too floated in midair, hovering above the clouds, with just one small courtyard within, several buildings inside, a Pill Furnace, empty of all else.

"Stay here for now, I’ll return from Heng Mountain soon."

As the words came, Tie Dan looked back, a flash of golden light, the Sword Monarch had already transformed into a long rainbow, disappearing by flying sword escape.

Tie Dan was silent for a moment, then took a step into the courtyard.

People were within.

Listening to the breathing and heartbeats, there were five, sword embryos were forming but not yet perfected into sword embryos, presumably sword boys of Honzan. Each has secluded themselves in separate small rooms, doors shut with talismans, meditating in retreat.

Tie Dan looked around; the courtyard had three rooms and nine houses, with three empty ones, choosing a secluded empty room in the corner, not adjoining others, pushed the door and went in, drank some clear spring water, changed into a clean Daoist robe from the cabinet, sat on the meditation mat, practiced breathing, calmed mind and spirit.

Demon Palace, Demon Sect, Yuqing Dao

...

Dui Country, Kun Country, Six Gates

...

Who, who, who is it really

...

"Bastard! How did you get into the room without a card?!"

Tie Dan coldly opened his eyes, realizing unknowingly, it was already broad daylight.

Then a youth wearing Sword Sect’s green robe burst in, grabbed his collar, and threw him out of the room.

Tie Dan did not resist, rolled on the ground to ease the impact, care less of the dirt covering him, lifted his eyes and looked around, seeing mischievous children laughing at the scene.

These, then, are brothers from the same sect?

Apart from the one leading the charge, causing trouble, there were three others, all laughing cheerfully, faintly surrounding him.

The remaining one, a shorter member, holding a broom, blocked the courtyard gate and kept his head down sweeping, focusing on the ground, not daring to meddle.

Tie Dan slowly got up.

Then as a gust blew from behind, someone lashed a kick at his knee pit, forcing him to kneel on the ground.

"Hmph! Uncultured scum! Where did you come from?!"

The youth causing trouble strode forward, the most imposing of them, his cultivation too the highest, presumably the leader here.

"I asked you something! Are you mute?! Who is your master?!"

Tie Dan didn’t speak, using the ground to help him stand.

The Taoist child beside him sneered, lifting a foot to kick again.

Tie Dan turned his head and glanced at him.

The Taoist child stiffened for a moment, involuntarily withdrawing his raised foot.

So Tie Dan stood up, calmly looked at the youth before him.

"Immortal Tianku."

"Tianku? Is there someone like that in the mountain?"

The youth frowned, looking around in bewilderment.

"Vice Star Seven Stars," someone answered, "probably an outer branch from the previous division."

"Oh..."

The youth showed realization, chuckling coldly,

"No wonder you lack discipline, turns out you’re an outsider hillbilly.

How can even a mongrel be brought up here? What, that Tianku was chopped dead?"

Tie Dan suddenly felt a buzz in his ears, then warmth on his forehead.

When he regained senses, he felt his hand heavy,

Lowering his head, he realized the youth’s head in front had been torn off.
