Chapter 899: Chapter 451: Rushing to the Frontline

Feeling the warmth nestled in his embrace, in that instant, Long Dangdang’s heart became exceptionally peaceful. Since returning from the Wraith Kingdom, he had always avoided letting himself settle down in fear of too many complex thoughts echoing in his mind. After being soothed by the Eternity and Creation God’s Seal Cathedra Rex though, while everything had improved significantly and made him more determined to gain the approval of this venerable Cathedra Rex, it also made him work even harder, not willing to waste a single minute. Perhaps his body was never tired, thanks to his formidable talents, but his heart had long been weary.

At this moment, with a beauty in his arms, Long Dangdang felt waves of drowsiness coming over him. How wonderful it would be if this moment could last forever, he thought to himself.

Ling Menglu snuggled closer into his embrace, and Long Dangdang tightened his arms, but he did not move to get any closer. It wasn’t that he couldn’t, but rather he dared not, as after having his own plans, many things had changed for him.

On the grand stage, the play had already begun. Accompanied by the appearance of a huge black dragon at the top of the theater, a dialogue between humans and the Demon God Emperor began.

Long Dangdang saw that on the stage, there stood a knight, tall and clad in an exceedingly ornate white armor. Seeing this armor, his drowsiness faded significantly. Could this be? The Armor of Eternity fashioned from the Eternity and Creation God’s Seal Cathedra Rex?

The one who undoubtedly represented humanity in dialogue with the Demon God Emperor was none other than the first Federation President, the former Glorious Leader God’s Seal Knight, Long Haochen. It was he who led the 6 Great Sacred Temples through tumultuous times and ultimately defeated the demon tribe, giving humans the chance to shine once more.

The dialogue between both parties was something everyone had read about in history textbooks, but seeing such a performance in the theater still carried an overwhelming impact. The contradictions between humans and the demon tribe were undeniably irreconcilable, and soon after, a great battle unfolded.

The theater’s lighting effects were superb, with the Heaven-Defying Magic Dragon Emperor transforming into human form, and fighting together with that Glorious Leader God’s Seal Knight, Long Haochen, the entire play swiftly escalated to its climax.

Ultimately, Long Haochen defeated the Demon God Emperor, thoroughly vanquishing the demon tribe, and led humanity in rebuilding their homeland and establishing the Temple Federation, making humans the masters of this world once again.

This was the main theme of the whole play. It was an exact replica of the narrative in history books.

"Did you like it?" said a voice from his embrace, pulling Long Dangdang back from the absorption of the play.

"Quite good," Long Dangdang responded subconsciously.

"Hmph! Always watching plays," the voice in his embrace sounded dissatisfied, "It’s not even entirely real; what’s so good about it?"

Long Dangdang was taken aback for a moment, lowering his head to look at Ling Menglu, who was gazing back at him with slightly resentful beautiful eyes. Her pouting red lips were so enticing, that Long Dangdang’s heartbeat quickened.

Ling Menglu, feeling his body press closer, giggled and said, "Didn’t expect you to be quite naive, did I? The old you wasn’t like this at all."

Long Dangdang couldn’t help but slap her pert buttocks lightly, though a wave of bitterness welled up in his heart, Menglu, oh Menglu, I am no longer who I once was, because I no longer dare to promise you forever! I simply do not know when my life’s journey will end.

Ling Menglu gently caressed his chest and said teasingly, "I was just teasing. I know you feel troubled inside, which is why I brought you out to relax. Dangdang, do you know? Sometimes I think it’s quite nice to be ordinary. At least they can live each day like we are doing now, not thinking about responsibilities or troubles, just living happily. I really like this feeling."

"Me too," Long Dangdang embraced her more tightly.

"Alright, let’s not think about other things today and just relax. You see, this play, in its effort to highlight President Long’s brilliance, actually neglected many important details, which feels somewhat lacking," Ling Menglu said softly.

"How so?" Long Dangdang asked inquiringly.

Ling Menglu explained, "Look! They portrayed President Long too perfectly, almost god-like. That’s hardly human. But in fact, what President Long went through originally was much more difficult than this. Even the history textbooks now have some things covered up, only the detailed histories within our Temple have records. President Long is actually the grandson of the Demon God Emperor. His mother was the offspring of the Demon God Emperor and a human woman. Later, the Demon God Emperor took his mother back to the demon tribe for a while, thus causing his father, the owner of the area’s Judgment and Trial God’s Seal Cathedra Rex, the Trial and Judgment God’s Seal Knight Long Xingyu’s misunderstanding, always thinking President Long was the descendant his wife had with the Demon God Emperor, and after his wife returned, he found her and raised President Long, wanting him to kill the one Long Xingyu considered his father, the Demon God Emperor. It wasn’t until the final battle that the Trial and Judgment God’s Seal Knight understood the real situation and regretted it immensely. It was a bit foolish! And this, the play won’t show."

About this history, Long Dangdang had also seen some before; they learned this real historic truth at the Spirit Furnace Academy, while the general public’s education was not that detailed, mainly because President Long’s contributions to humanity were so significant that officially his image had been greatly elevated.
