Scum Daddy Dreams Of Stealing My Mommy! -
Chapter 64: Do You Think I Took Hope Away?
Chapter 64: Chapter 64: Do You Think I Took Hope Away?
Amelia Garcia had not been home long and was now busily packing, preparing to leave River City for Europe as quickly as possible.
Neither child was home, and as she bustled in and out, she tried calling Kane.
For some reason, he was not picking up.
Shaw saw her hurrying about, unsettled, and asked, "Sis, are we really going? This is so sudden..."
"Yes, we must go, otherwise we’ll never be able to escape," she replied hastily, then urged Shaw, "Call Kane again, tell him to bring Noah and Ethan back quickly."
"Oh."
Amelia continued packing in the bedroom while Shaw attempted to call from the living room, but before she could get through, suddenly the door was pounded so violently it startled her!
"Open up! I know you’re in there, open up!"
Terrified, Shaw looked at the door, hesitating before moving towards the entryway.
"Bang! Bang! Bang!"
"Open up!"
The booming sound scared her again, but this time she recognized the voice.
"Sis, Sis! Mr. Hart... he’s smashing the door!" Shaw cried out in fright, hurrying back into the living room.
Amelia heard the noise too and came out of the bedroom, her face a picture of shock.
She paled at the thunderous knocking.
This guy had clearly said he would let her go just a few hours ago, so why did he show up at her door again so soon?
And with such furious roaring?
"Sis, what... what’s going on?" Shaw asked with a puzzled face.
Amelia was just as confused, shaking her head, "I don’t know, ignore him."
With that, she returned to her room to continue packing.
But soon, her phone rang.
Looking at the number on the screen, her brows knitted tightly.
What was this man trying to do?
What kind of madness was this?
The knocking persisted, like Hades seeking a soul, and realizing he wouldn’t leave, making it impossible for her to exit even with her luggage ready, she took a deep breath to calm her emotions and answered the call.
"Hello, Mr. Hart, we clearly agreed—"
"Hope is missing, did you know that?"
Christopher Hart cut her off abruptly with his purpose.
Amelia was shocked, eyes wide, frozen with surprise.
After a moment, she asked incredulously, "What do you mean? Wasn’t she at the hospital this morning? You told her to go home afterward..."
"Yes, but she was kidnapped before she left the hospital, and we haven’t found her yet."
The man’s voice was tight and stern, indicating the situation was grave.
Amelia did not doubt him in the slightest, her heart suddenly in her throat.
"How... how is that possible? Did you offend someone? Call the police, quickly!"
"Open the door first."
"But I..."
"Open the door, we can talk face to face." The man’s tone had calmed down now, unlike his earlier aggressive pounding.
Concerned for her daughter’s safety, Amelia didn’t think twice and immediately walked out of the bedroom, through the living room.
As soon as she opened the door, the man pushed his way in forcefully.
"Ah—" Startled, Amelia staggered back, yet before she could grasp what was happening, her neck was seized, and she was pushed against the wall.
"What are you doing! Are you insane?!" she exploded with rage, protesting while raising her hand to strike.
With only his left arm fully functional and his right arm still slung across his chest, Christopher Hart naturally couldn’t fend her off, so his face took several hits from her.
The "smack smack smack" of slapping sounds made Lucas King and Shaw shrug their shoulders and frown, their teeth bared in grimaces.
"What are you accusing me of? Have you completely forgotten what you’ve done yourself? Still playing innocent with me, how long do you plan to keep up this act?!"
Christopher, despite having taken several slaps, didn’t loosen his grip on her, clenching his teeth as if he was grinding the words to pieces before spitting them out.
Amelia Garcia’s neck was being choked, making it difficult for her to speak, her face also turning red.
Seeing this, Lucas King and Shaw quickly rushed over to mediate.
"President Hart, calm down! Let’s talk this out!"
"Hey! Let your hand go! Someone could get killed!" Shaw too was slapping at Christopher’s arm.
A plaster was stuck to Amelia’s forehead, a trace of blood seeping through.
Christopher, looking at her wound, finally seemed to have a conscience pricked, and was pulled away by Lucas King.
"Cough...cough cough—"
Amelia relaxed, rubbing her neck with both hands, then glaring at him with hatred: "If you’re sick, go see a doctor! What are you doing coming to me and acting crazy?!"
Christopher stood there aloofly and asked outright, "Where have you hidden my daughter?"
Amelia was stunned, staring at him, frozen.
So, this bastard had barged in, choking her as soon as he arrived, suspecting her of "kidnapping" Hope?
Ha!
What nonsense!
"You think it was me who took Hope?" she scoffed coldly.
"Who else could it be?"
Enraged but amused, Amelia straightened up and brushed back her hair, speaking firmly: "Christopher, can’t you investigate before you act? What evidence do you have to prove that I took away Hope?"
The man did not speak but glanced towards the living room, implying something with his look: "All your stuff is packed, isn’t it? Were you planning to take my daughter and flee if I had arrived just a moment later?"
Amelia followed his gaze to the living room and suddenly found herself at a loss for words.
But the truth was, she really had not taken Hope away!
"Christopher, I swear, I did not take your daughter, otherwise may I be struck by a car the moment I step outside! Instead of wasting time here arguing with me, you should hurry up and search for her, a missing child is in great danger!"
She raised her hand, swearing solemnly, her heart also anxious, worried about Hope’s safety.
But Christopher didn’t believe a word.
They looked at each other, silent for a moment, as if vying with each other, yet also scrutinizing one another.
Amelia, observing him, noticed his right arm was slung across his chest.
With a slight frown, she was the first to speak: "What’s wrong with your arm?"
Christopher didn’t answer her question, instead, his left hand reached out, grabbed her, and dragged her out the door.
"What are you doing!" Caught off guard, Amelia stumbled as he pulled her, and her anger flared again.
"Christopher! How do you want me to convince you? I really haven’t taken your daughter! I’m starting to suspect you’re making this all up just to deliberately cause me trouble!"
Her accusation wasn’t without reason.
Otherwise, as a normal father, wouldn’t he immediately report to the police and search the entire city upon discovering his beloved daughter was missing?
Yet he was wasting time by coming to her!
She seriously suspected that he was regretting the promise made that morning, so he had concocted an excuse to entangle her again!
In the elevator, Amelia finally broke free from his hold, glaring at him with anger in her almond eyes, "What exactly do you want? In broad daylight, you’re forcefully detaining me, is there no law left?"
Christopher tugged at the corner of his mouth, "As long as I don’t find Hope, don’t even think about leaving my sight for one day. I want to see, without you around, how your accomplice plans to take away my daughter."
Accomplice?
Amelia’s heart skipped a beat, and suddenly she thought of Kane, who had gone out of contact.
Oh my God!
Could it be that bastard had taken Hope away behind her back?
A chill ran down her spine, but she managed to hide her shock well, and immediately retorted: "I’ve told you no, and no it is! Even if you lock me up for a lifetime, I can’t give you your daughter!"
