Chapter 486: Chapter 486: Flirting with Each Other in the Afternoon

"If it’s impossible, then it’s just that they don’t like me and are looking for an excuse. But it’s not important anymore. Don’t worry, I’m fine. I’m driving, hang up first, okay?"

Her tone was light, and after speaking, she hung up the phone without waiting for Amelia to respond.

The car started moving, and as she drove, she couldn’t help but shed tears...

She truly liked him, truly couldn’t bear it, yet truly... had no choice.

Tears quickly blurred her vision. She struggled to drive the car out of the garage, worried that driving like this might cause an accident, so she quickly pulled over.

Leaning weakly against the steering wheel, this time, she no longer held back, freely expressing her emotions.

Beside her, a Cayenne slowly passed by.

The man in the driver’s seat glanced over at the car on the roadside with its hazard lights on.

With just a glance as they passed by, he clearly saw the girl’s shoulders trembling as she leaned against the steering wheel.

The warm and clear gaze darkened in an instant. He pressed his lips together, retracted his gaze, and sped off.

Feeling uneasy, Charles Smith took out his phone before the traffic light, intending to contact Amelia Garcia to have her check on Snow’s situation.

But on second thought, since it was destined to be impossible, why do something that could be misunderstood?

It seemed affectionate, but was actually superfluous.

In the end, he dismissed the idea.

Hopefully, she can quickly extricate herself from this unrequited love and return to being the cheerful, carefree, and somewhat naive girl she once was.

Amelia Garcia knew her best friend was rejected, and her mood was not good either on the way back.

When she returned home, Christopher Hart noticed her worried expression and, connecting it to a couple of casual messages they exchanged on WhatsApp earlier, his handsome face darkened: "What’s wrong? Did Charles Smith trouble you?"

She shook her head and sat down by the bed, "No, but... he troubled Snow."

"Snow? What happened?"

"Sigh... It’s not exactly troubling. After we finished eating, we went down to the underground parking lot. Doctor Smith said he had something to say to Snow, so I left first. After a while, I called Snow, thinking maybe they’d hit it off, but who knew..."

She looked at Christopher mournfully, leaving the rest unsaid.

Mr. Hart understood, his expression remaining impassive and indifferent as he said, "That kind of pretty boy isn’t much of a catch. With Snow’s qualities, she shouldn’t have trouble finding a man."

Amelia glanced at him, "With Doctor Smith’s qualities, he’s not much of a catch? Can you speak without being emotionally biased?"

"So what? He doesn’t fancy your friend anyway."

Amelia sighed, feeling powerless...

"Snow must be very upset. I haven’t even comforted her, and she already hung up the phone."

Seeing the woman he loved frown with concern, Mr. Hart also felt distressed. He grasped her hand and asked, "Then what can you do? Play matchmaker for her?"

"Sigh... Forget it, she’s not in the mood now."

Having been out all day and feeling a bit tired, she yawned, speaking in a muffled voice, "I’m tired, I’ll go take a nap."

As she got up to leave, the man grabbed her.

"What are you doing?"

"Where are you going to sleep?"

His eyes were ambiguous, pulling the woman’s hand while glancing beside himself, making his intention clear.

Amelia pursed her lips, "Aren’t you still busy?"

Documents and materials were scattered both beside him and on the small table on the bed.

"Work isn’t as important as sleeping with you," Mr. Hart said, making the sweet words seem natural.

The woman’s cheeks flushed. Without fussing, she retreated a step to sit by the bed, took off her outer clothes, and lay down.

While she was taking off her clothes, Christopher efficiently tidied up the scattered documents on the bed and placed them on the bedside table.

When she lay down, he also settled back on the pillow.

The two faced each other, breathing in each other’s proximity. Amelia initially didn’t think much of it but froze for a second, suddenly widening her eyes, and looking down, she asked in surprise, "Can you turn over by yourself now?"

Before, when he couldn’t move his lower body, he needed help just to turn over.

Now... he could turn onto his side by himself?

"Mm." Mr. Hart smiled, his handsome face full of happiness, "I just discovered today that the lower limbs clearly have sensation now."

Amelia was so happy that her drowsiness was gone. She propped up her head to look at him and said, "While eating, Doctor Smith mentioned that in half a month when you go for a reexamination, if the recovery is ideal, you can start rehabilitation. By then, he’ll contact Director Lewis to help customize a rehabilitation plan specifically for you!"

Upon hearing this, Mr. Hart’s joyful expression faded slightly, "Director Lewis is professional enough; there’s no need for outsiders to get involved."

"Aren’t you being childish?" Knowing he was being awkward again, Amelia shot him a resentful look and scolded him.

Christopher was taken aback, then started grinding his teeth subtly, "You’ve become quite audacious now, resorting to domestic violence at the drop of a hat! Think I can’t handle you?"

Before he finished speaking, he tossed his arm and pinned the woman into the pillow, his upper body coming down to trap her firmly.

"Ah... What are you doing? You’re pulling my hair!" Amelia exclaimed, laughing and yelling while slapping him.

Christopher was startled and quickly moved his arm away, freeing her hair entirely.

Then, without further ado, his handsome face dipped down, silencing her exclamation with a kiss.

"Mmm... What are you doing, in broad daylight—"

She knew he had ulterior motives in getting her to sleep here, but she didn’t expect him to pounce on her in broad daylight, with the curtains not even drawn.

His body might have improved somewhat, but it wasn’t fully healed. Did he really think he could carry something all the way through?

Yet, despite her verbal protests, when enveloped by his breath, she surrendered without resistance.

It had to be said, even after four or five years apart, this guy still understood her body better than anyone.

You could even say, better than she knew herself.

A mere two minutes of intimacy, and the changes in her body exceeded her expectations. She gasped for breath as she opened her eyes, looking through the haze of moisture at the man propped above her, everything understood without words...

Christopher gazed at her, his heart swept by intense desire, almost burning through his entire being. But instinctively yearning for more, yet his cumbersome body pulled him back to reality.

He closed his eyes, veins faintly pulsing at his temple, and after a moment, fell back onto the bed.

Amelia, her face red as a beetroot, turned away from him. Though she wasn’t in much better shape, she still intentionally taunted him, "How does it feel, biting off more than you can chew?"

He opened his eyes, staring into hers with such intensity it felt like he might melt her.

"Are you proud of yourself?"

"This little woman wouldn’t dare..." She replied with a giggle, moving closer to plant a teasing kiss on the man’s lips, then turned over to get out of bed, "I’d better go sleep in another room, or neither of us will get any rest."

As she finished speaking, she left, purposely turning back at the door to throw him a soul-stirring look.

Christopher lay there, resenting his current inability to move. Otherwise, would he let her walk off from his bed so grandly?

If things were different, she’d be thoroughly teased and unable to get out of bed for three days straight!

Watching her giggle while closing the door, Mr. Hart impatiently closed his eyes, secretly vowing to settle both old and new scores once he recovered!
