Scum Daddy Dreams Of Stealing My Mommy!
Chapter 42 Christopher Hart Drunken Rampage

Chapter 42: Chapter 42 Christopher Hart Drunken Rampage

Amelia spent the whole night happily playing with Hope, until past nine o’clock at night when the little girl was extremely sleepy and calmed down in her arms.

She carefully got up with her daughter in her arms, placed her on the bed, and tucked her in with the blanket.

But as she got up to leave, the deeply sleeping little girl seemed to become conscious all of a sudden and woke up.

"Mommy, don’t go... stay with Hope..."

Her arm was gripped, and Amelia was startled, quickly sitting down to gently comfort her, "I won’t leave, go back to sleep..."

But Hope didn’t believe her and climbed back up to sleep in her mother’s arms again.

Daddy had given her a mission: she must try her best to keep mommy here, waiting for daddy to come home.

She had to complete the task! No matter how sleepy, she had to persevere!

Amelia looked at the little cutie in her arms, feeling both blissful and helpless.

It was already past nine, and that man still hadn’t come back. Was he going to come home tonight at all?

If not, would he just leave the child alone at home?

Although there were servants, she still felt it wasn’t quite right.

Watching the child’s peaceful and adorable demeanor, Amelia began to feel guilty.

During dinner, she asked Hope why she didn’t go back with daddy.

The little girl said indifferently, "Grandpa and Grandma don’t like me, and I don’t want to curry favor with them either."

Her heart ached immensely upon hearing that.

Such a lovable child, one that even strangers would adore, yet her grandparents didn’t like her?

Soon, she understood the reason.

Perhaps it was because the child was born to Amelia Garcia?

The entire Hart Family had deemed her a ruthless person, snubbing her—if not for Old Master Hart taking a stand for her, they would have definitely thrown her in jail.

In their eyes, Amelia Garcia was the Hart Family’s sinner, beyond redemption—so how could they accept the child she bore?

With this realization, she felt somewhat grateful to Christopher Hart.

Grateful that although he too had been blinded by the Tricky Woman, at the very least his love and hate were clear—he knew the child was innocent.

Thus, over the years, he had been dutifully caring for and doting on their daughter with all his heart.

While holding her daughter, Amelia contacted Shaw via WhatsApp, finding out that the two brothers had already gone to sleep. She then prepared to stay a bit longer, waiting for Christopher to come home and look after their daughter before she left.

As she waited, she didn’t know how much time had passed when a car engine sound came from downstairs.

Startled, she immediately became alert, thinking Christopher had come back.

However, before she could put her daughter back to bed, she heard a commotion coming from downstairs.

What was happening? Who was arguing so late at night?

She quickly put her daughter down and hurried out, looking down from the second-floor corridor, and was taken aback!

It was Christopher Hart, drunk and brought back by someone, now causing a drunken ruckus in the living room!

Instinctively, she hurried downstairs, thinking of his embarrassing drunken behavior in the past, which gave her an instant headache.

Don’t be fooled by his usual maturity and stability, once drunk, he was like an unreasonable child, particularly troublesome and a complete change from his usual self!

Just as Amelia had reached the ground floor, Benny Palmer and Lucas King spotted her, and both were taken aback.

"You haven’t left yet?" Young Master Palmer asked subconsciously.

Amelia was stunned, suddenly at a loss, and quickly explained, "I... was about to leave, but Hope kept holding onto me, so I thought I’d wait for him to come back—what happened... why is he drunk?"

Lucas King looked at Amelia, feeling that her concern at this moment contained some genuine feelings, still very much like the lady of the past.

The DNA test clearly stated: No blood relationship.

He felt sympathy for his boss in his heart, even though he knew some things were not to be done, he had still cast morality aside.

"Miss Norton, since you haven’t left, could you please take care of President Hart for us? It’s getting late, we’ll be heading back first."

Lucas King glanced towards Benny Palmer, and after exchanging a look, the latter immediately added, "Right! Since you’re here, it’s perfect. Caring for someone is a task we rough guys are not as good at as women. We’d appreciate your help!"

The two of them turned and walked away, and Amelia Garcia was terrified, quickly following them, "Hey! You can’t do this! He and I are strangers! Even if someone needs to take care of him, you should call his fiancée!"

Benny had reached the door when he flung his hand dismissively, "Fiancée? He doesn’t have one anymore, it’s over!"

Over?

Amelia was taken aback. What did that mean?

Did it mean that Lily Garcia had dumped him? Was that why he was drowning his sorrows in drink, winding up in this sorry state?

She stood still, her gaze turning to the man writhing in pain on the couch, unclear about what she was feeling.

She had thought that a woman like Lily Garcia was someone Christopher Hart wouldn’t even spare a glance for even if he were blind—yet he loved her that deeply?

But if he loved her so much, why had he delayed marriage for over four years?

There were too many contradictions, and Amelia couldn’t make sense of it all in the moment.

"Water... I need water, where is everyone! Get me water, hurry up..." The Tyrant King on the couch began to grow restless, struggling to sit up while yelling out commands.

Amelia was caught in a dilemma.

By all rights, and in all reason, she should leave immediately, ignoring whether this man lived or died, or else she’d be misunderstood and even jumping into the Yellow River wouldn’t clear her name.

But thinking of his affection for Hope, she couldn’t help but soften her heart.

Moreover, with him being this drunk, who knew if he’d wander into Hope’s room in his confusion?

If he barged into his daughter’s room in the middle of the night and frightened her, that would be terrible.

The servants stood idly by, and seeing her hesitation, they hastened to get water.

But the Tyrant King was not easy to serve; when the servant handed him the water, he did not hold it steady, and the cup fell to the ground, shattering instantly.

The Tyrant King flew into a rage, "What are all of you good for! You can’t even pour water? Is it that everyone is out to defy me?!"

The servants trembled with fear and quickly knelt down to clean up the mess on the floor.

Amelia witnessed this and ultimately couldn’t bring herself to leave. She stepped forward and whispered, "I’ll take care of him."

Like receiving a pardon, the servant quickly tidied up the floor and scampered away.

"Here, drink." Amelia poured some water again, took his hand to ensure he held the cup securely, and then let go.

The man looked up at her.

His deep eyes were bloodshot, and there was a trace of a scrape on his forehead, emanating an air of decadence and fatigue.

Amelia frowned, tilted her head to look, and curiously asked, "What happened to your forehead? Did you get into a fight? Or... were you beaten up?"

Considering the Hart Family elders’ return to the country, dinner tonight was supposed to be harmony-filled, but his injured forehead coupled with his drunkenness made it hard not to think of an unpleasant side.

Perhaps the family dinner had turned into a Battle Realm, ending in discord, and it was the bad mood that led him to drink.

But what could have caused such a commotion?

After drinking some water, Christopher, perhaps because of the dilution of alcohol’s effects, grew a bit clearer-headed.

He looked at her and suddenly asked, "What will it take for you to admit that you are Amelia Garcia?"

"..." The woman was taken aback, frowning.

In that instant, she seemed to understand something.
