Scum Daddy Dreams Of Stealing My Mommy!
Chapter 389: He Stood Up!

Chapter 389: Chapter 389: He Stood Up!

"..." Amelia’s face sank as she reached out to drag the bowl away.

Someone immediately protected it and apologized, "Alright, alright, I won’t say it again! This one is really delicious and looks nice too. You made this one, right? I know, the ones that look terrible were made by the little kids."

Seeing his flattering expression, Amelia pushed the bowl back, "Your mouth can’t be blocked even when eating!"

Christopher laughed, glanced at her, and quickly picked up a dumpling to feed her.

The woman turned her face away, "I’ve already said I’m not hungry, you eat."

"Do you want me to feed you in another way?" He held onto the dumpling without putting it down, his gaze flirtatious, and his smile became even more mischievous.

Amelia was so shocked that her eyes widened, staring at him in disbelief.

This guy!

Showing his rogue nature again?

Their eyes met, and the smile on his face grew even more brazen, as if saying: I’m not joking, you can try it.

The woman pursed her lips, initially wanting to go head-to-head with him, but afraid he would actually feed her with his mouth later. After weighing the options, she unwillingly leaned forward and bit into the dumpling.

"I shouldn’t have let you eat!"

Christopher sighed heavily, expressing regret, "You’re really afraid of me feeding you with my mouth..."

He really wanted to try it.

Amelia didn’t bother with him, instead getting up to clean the kitchen.

After finishing the dumplings, it was already past midnight.

Christopher didn’t plan to leave that night.

Anyway, the bed was already bought; not sleeping would be a waste.

However, right now he wasn’t willing to go to sleep; there were still some things to do.

Amelia came out of the kitchen, looked at him, and before she could speak, he was already reaching out to her.

"What’s up?"

She stepped forward, her gentle hand was softly held by the man’s large palm, and that handsome face returned to a gentle smile, "Put on your coat and scarf, let’s go out and have some fun."

"Go out and have fun? In the middle of the night, you—"

"Can you hear how lively it is outside? No one is asleep yet."

"But your health..."

"I’m fine, hurry up."

Amelia frowned, still a bit hesitant, and he pushed her lightly, "Hurry up, and bring the fireworks."

Going to set off fireworks?!

Seeing his childlike eagerness, Amelia didn’t want to dampen his spirits, so she just went to put on her coat and scarf.

"It’s cold outside, get another blanket." When she came back, she added a wool blanket on his lap.

The two carried fireworks, like playful children, sneaking out the door.

"If Noah and the others find out that their mom and dad are secretly setting off fireworks in the middle of the night without them, they’ll definitely be upset," Amelia said amusedly.

"No worries, we’ll leave some for them."

River City’s tradition is to set off firecrackers to bid farewell to the old and welcome the new after the New Year bell chimes at midnight.

So, despite the ban, there are firecracker sounds everywhere at this time, and the fireworks on both sides of the riverbank are alternately bright and colorful, lighting up the night sky.

Beside the artificial lake, there are still many young people setting off fireworks and taking photos.

Amelia held a black plastic bag and searched inside, "What did you buy? These are all children’s toys, right! Do you have a lighter? Otherwise, how do we light them?"

"Yes, I have everything, just pour it out and find it."

She didn’t pour them out and squatted down to pick some that seemed a bit dangerous, planning to set them off tonight to avoid leaving unsafe ones for the kids tomorrow.

But there were many types, and she hadn’t played with them before.

"Christopher, how do I light these? I’m a bit scared..."

She held variously shaped fireworks and saw the fuse burning line was at most two centimeters long, unsure of how to proceed.

Christopher extended his hand, "Give it to me to light."

"Are you sure you can do it? You can’t move while sitting, don’t set yourself on fire." Amelia felt giving them to him to light was more dangerous than doing it herself, so she didn’t hand them over.

Unexpectedly, a handsome young man nearby offered, "Would you like me to light them for you? You can just enjoy them."

"Sure, thank you!"

Amelia handed over both the fireworks and the lighter, and the handsome guy only took the fireworks, as he had a lighter in his hand.

He lit it and threw it out; the firework whirled on the ground a few times before suddenly swooshing into the night sky with a burst of crackling blooms.

Amelia stood by the wheelchair, staring at the sky in surprise and joy, "So that’s how it’s played? It’s a bit dangerous; if the direction isn’t right, it could be troublesome."

Therefore, these kinds aren’t for kids.

She quickly found them all and asked the handsome guy to light them all for her.

"Hey, this one is a Fairy Wand, not dangerous, I’ll light this one!" Seeing a bunch of Fairy Wands, Amelia happily took them out.

After lighting two, she handed them to the man, "Here you go."

Mr. Hart looked disdainful, "I don’t play with these."

"Aren’t you the one who wants to play?"

"I’m accompanying you."

"Just hold it as I say! So much talking! Hurry up, before they burn out!" She pushed them onto him, and Christopher had no choice but to take them.

The Fairy Wands quietly flickered with light, like tiny stars held in their hands.

Christopher’s handsome and profound face was illuminated by the bright light, making him even more charming.

Amelia glanced at him, feeling that he looked adorably simple, and took out her phone wanting to take a photo of him.

Unfortunately, the two wands were almost burnt out.

She quickly lit two more and handed them over, "Hold it steady, I’m taking pictures!"

"What’s the point of taking photos of this? It’s so silly." The man criticized, but when he saw his beloved woman pointing the phone at him, he cooperatively looked into the lens.

"Shake it, shake it!"

Mr. Hart went along with it and shook it.

"Okay! You enjoy yourself, I’ll go see what else is there." Having snapped a satisfying photo, Amelia Garcia tucked away her phone and hurried off to find more fireworks.

That handsome young guy got hooked as well, and seeing her bring out new ones, he rushed over immediately to explore.

Amelia Garcia simply handed them all to him, while she quietly waved her Fairy Wand to the side, really looking like a fairy.

Anyone unaware would think she and that young guy were a couple.

After Christopher Hart’s fireworks stick burned out, he glanced over unintentionally and his face suddenly darkened.

This silly girl...

That handsome guy also has a girlfriend, isn’t she blind?

And right in front of him, laughing and chatting with another man, does she think he’s blind too?

"Cough cough, cough cough—" He tried calling out tactically a few times, but alas... it was drowned out in the merry laughter and the crackling sounds of burning fireworks.

The lady remained indifferent.

His expression darkened further, and he simply took out his phone and made a call.

Amelia Garcia was filming a video with her phone, capturing the fireworks that stood on the ground, spreading like a peacock fan, looking beautiful, she wanted to record it.

But as the screen switched, a call came in, startling her. She turned to look at the man in the wheelchair.

"What’s up?" she asked aloud.

The man was silent, raising his hand and beckoning to her without any expression, like calling for a little dog.

Feeling a bit put out, Amelia Garcia put away her phone and returned to his side, "What’s going on?"

"Aren’t you leaving some for the triplets?" The man glanced at the black plastic bag on the ground and asked plainly.

"Oh!" Amelia Garcia was taken aback, squatted down to check, embarrassed, "Only two Fairy Wands left, and a few boxes of poppers."

She looked up at the man, chuckled, "You could buy some more and have it delivered tomorrow?"

"Can’t buy them."

"How could that be?"

"Why not? They were selling secretly; who knows where they’ll set up shop tomorrow?"

Amelia Garcia looked at him and finally noticed something was off with the person’s expression.

At that moment, the handsome young guy spoke loudly, "Miss, do you have any more? The peacock-spreading one looks great on video!"

Before Amelia Garcia could respond, Christopher Hart replied coolly, "No more."

Seeing his awkward and arrogant expression, Amelia Garcia belatedly realized, couldn’t help but laugh.

"You folks enjoy, it’s too late for us, we’re heading back, Happy New Year!" She picked up the remaining fireworks and went behind the man, pushing his wheelchair towards home.

The man remained silent.

Amelia Garcia stared at the back of his head, suddenly, in a slightly annoyed manner, pressed it with one hand— just like parents disciplining kids, pressing their heads — Mr. Hart caught off guard, his forehead dipped.

"You! You’re the one who wanted to come out, and now you’re the one sulking, forgot to dip the dumplings in vinegar earlier, didn’t taste right, huh?" She mocked him for eating vinegar unnecessarily.

Christopher Hart’s head dipped forward, immediately getting annoyed, but before he could argue, she took charge.

He squinted at her, snorted coldly, "Who said you’d never give me a chance to misunderstand?"

"This counts?"

"Why wouldn’t it count? You’re all chummy with this kid right in front of me; he has a girlfriend and you didn’t notice?"

"Of course I did! I always gave the fireworks to his girlfriend, and they set them off together!"

"You were laughing and chatting with him!"

"I was also laughing and chatting with his girlfriend!"

"..."

Seeing him speechless, Amelia Garcia snorted coldly, pressing his head again.

If Mr. Hart weren’t physically limited, he’d definitely be hopping mad.

"Don’t treat me like a child!"

"Ha! You’re more childish than a kid! You wanted to go out, now you’re the one sulking!"

"..."

Amelia Garcia watched as he was rendered speechless by her scolding, feeling surprisingly joyful, she continued lecturing throughout the journey.

Mr. Hart closed his eyes, simply pretending to be deaf.

Once inside the house, he pulled her over, clasping the back of her neck with his large hand and hauled her down for a kiss.

Finally, silence fell around them.

He was immensely satisfied.

After the kiss, they parted slightly, and the gaze between them felt like sugary threads of maltose, unable to break apart once pulled.

"Turns out kissing is the only way to calm you down." Mr. Hart boasted delightedly.

"You rogue!" The woman gave him a playful slap on the shoulder, pouting as she turned to leave.

"Hey!" Came a voice from behind.

She halted, unwillingly turned back, "What is it?"

Christopher Hart steadied his voice slightly, looking at her, paused for a few seconds, then spoke slowly and softly, "Giving you a New Year gift."

A New Year gift?

Amelia Garcia’s expression shifted slightly, her body turning sideways involuntarily to face him, looked at him silently but her gaze was full of curiosity and inquiry.

He actually prepared a New Year gift?

But she saw him take a black plastic bag earlier, which was filled with fireworks.

Could it be, he has something else with him?

Amelia Garcia assumed he was probably going to give some jewelry, thinking how tacky and wasteful— she herself owned a jewelry brand and was a famed jewelry designer— if he also gave jewelry, it would truly be unnecessary.

However, this thought could only stay hidden.

She further thought that if he really did give jewelry, she’d have to show some appreciation at least, her face should display delight and her words should express liking and gratitude...

She was already prepared to "start performing," but then saw the person in front of her, while she internally held contempt, struggling and slowly... stood up!
