Chapter 252: Chapter 252: Severing Father-Son Relationship

"Plagiarism?" Amelia Garcia was shocked and looked again at the finished design on the screen, quickly recalling, she slapped her forehead, "I know! This work... I previously designed it for a client with the surname Zhao as a custom order!"

"Do you remember who it was?"

"Of course I remember, how could I forget a client I handled! That day, I had an appointment to show her the design drafts, but Betty came to the shop causing trouble, insisting on seeing me."

Amelia remembered very clearly what had happened that day.

"I thought I’d go handle it and be right back but it took too long, and the client left before I could return. Later, I called her to apologize and rescheduled a meeting, but she refused, even waived the deposit, and canceled the cooperation."

Amelia stared intently at the jewelry on the screen, in disbelief, "Turns out she secretly took photos and then went to another designer."

Glancing at the website domain, she frowned slightly, "Why is it Tia?"

Tia Jewelry and Venus are rivals.

Both companies share similar design styles and target demographics, so there is competition between them. They’ve had several unpleasant encounters in the past.

It was unimaginable that they would stoop so low this time.

"Yes, I suspect they knew it was your design and deliberately preempted to spite you," Kane analyzed.

Amelia gazed at the computer screen, stroking her chin and lost in thought.

The server brought the dessert over, and Kane pushed the small plate towards Hope, coaxing with a smile, "Sweetheart, you eat first. Uncle has to talk with your mom."

Hope had rushed to the hospital to see her dad in the morning and hadn’t eaten much breakfast, so she was indeed hungry and started eating with a spoon.

Kane looked at the little girl and casually asked, "Why did you only bring Hope? Where are her brothers?"

"I took Hope to the hospital this morning, didn’t bring Noah and Ethan."

Kane understood her concerns and asked, "Are the Hart family members still planning to fight you for the children?"

"Don’t worry, Christopher Hart has woken up; he won’t let his family cause trouble," Amelia responded, suddenly dropping her fingers from her cheek and looking across at the man, "Kane, do you think I should just endure, or gather evidence and confront them head-on?"

The man spoke earnestly, "Tia has stolen customers from us more than once or twice. This time is outrageous, a real provocation. After all, it’s your hard work—so, whatever you decide, I’ll support you."

"Alright, then we’ll confront them head-on."

"What are you planning to do?"

Amelia thought for a moment, rotated the computer a bit, and the two started discussing strategies.

In the hospital, after waking up from his nap, Christopher Hart was taken by the nurse for a full-body checkup.

Upon returning to the ward, Emma Carter and George Hart came over again.

Seeing his parents, he felt little closeness, instead, his mind was full of their past few years of hostility and animosity towards Amelia, his chest filled with displeasure.

This morning, Benny Palmer had relayed the events of the past years to him, highlighting the key points.

Although he couldn’t remember, he trusted his best friend’s perspective as fair and unbiased.

In his memory, his family adored Amelia.

But why then did they treat Amelia that way later?

Especially his sister, who, out of jealousy, went as far as to risk her own life to frame Amelia!

And his mother, out of favoritism and protection for her daughter, had asserted Amelia’s guilt without understanding the facts, almost sending her to prison.

Of course, his reaction, as her childhood sweetheart and intended fiancé, was also extremely poor.

He had not unconditionally believed the girl he liked, and had even confronted her!

After hearing these things in the morning, he felt more pained than any physical injury.

"Christopher, how do you feel? Have you remembered anything? Your eyes... do you see any light?" Emma sat by his bed, having already forgotten the morning’s unpleasantness between mother and son, her tone once again kind.

But Christopher Hart ignored her, not intending to respond.

Emma’s face stiffened a bit, before she could speak again, George Hart asked with slight displeasure, "I’m talking to you! Why aren’t you even acknowledging?"

Emma gave her husband a glare, then waved him away with a hand gesture.

George Hart, seeing his son stubborn like a mule, snorted and turned to walk away, out of sight, out of mind.

Patiently, Emma opened the thermos, "I asked the doctor, you can now drink some soup to replenish nutrients, which should help in your recovery."

As she spoke, she poured out a bowl of soup, "Here’s some bone soup, let mom feed you."

Finally, Christopher opened his mouth, but to refuse, "No need, I’m not hungry."

"You’ve been unconscious for so many days, surviving on IV fluids, how can you not be hungry?"

Emma carefully raised the head of the bed a bit and stirred the soup with a spoon, checking the temperature before attempting to feed him.

But Christopher’s lips were tightly closed, not cooperating.

Emma coaxed gently, "Christopher, you can’t be willful with your body."

Christopher slightly turned his face towards his mother and asked, "Have you apologized to Amelia?"

"..." Emma’s hand with the soup spoon froze, her expression visibly changing.

After a few seconds, she asked somewhat agitatedly, "You... remember now?"

"I didn’t; someone told me."

"Someone?" Emma’s expression changed subtly, "That woman came? Did she tattle to you? I had clearly instructed the doctors and nurses not to let her in, how—"

"Why wouldn’t you let her in? Even if we are divorced, she is still the mother of my children, isn’t it only right for her to visit me with the kids?" Christopher’s tone remained weak, but the assertiveness in his words was clearly returning.

Emma paused for a moment, then dropped her hands, ready for a serious conversation.

"You mentioned the children? Speaking of which, since you know you have two more sons, you should talk to her properly and get them recognized by the family lineage soon!"

’Recognized by the family lineage’...

Christopher again thought of his friend’s words—these days, the aunt and uncle had been pressuring Amelia to send the children back, insisting she only raise Hope and forcing her and her daughter to leave...

When he heard this, imagining her feeling alone and powerless, imagining her struggling to protect three children single-handedly, his heart filled with regret.

"The children were born after the divorce; strictly speaking, they have nothing to do with the Hart family," Christopher said calmly, pausing to catch his breath, continuing, "If I can’t recover, all three children should be under her custody."

"What?" Emma raised her tone.

George Hart, resting in the visitor area and initially not wanting to get involved, couldn’t help but approach the bedside upon hearing his son’s increasingly defiant attitude, "Christopher Hart, I think your brain is broken! The children are your own flesh and blood, how can they have nothing to do with the Hart family? For the sake of a ’Fox Spirit’, are you planning to sever ties with me?!"
