Scum Daddy Dreams Of Stealing My Mommy!
Chapter 237: Fall from the Seventh Floor

Chapter 237: Chapter 237: Fall from the Seventh Floor

Christopher Hart was not sure he could catch the child.

But at the moment of life and death, he had no other choice.

Luckily, the heavens were looking out for them—he lunged out and managed to grab the child’s arm just in time, pulling him back forcefully and holding him tightly in his arms.

But no matter how impressive he was, he was not a god; he could not walk on walls or fly.

The seventh floor was not too high or too low, but with bad luck, a fall could cause instant brain damage beyond even the "Miracle Doctor’s" help.

If luck were on his side, he might still have a breath left, a chance for the doctors to save him.

He did not know if he could count himself lucky.

When he rapidly fell to the third floor, he crashed hard onto the apartment building’s awning.

The awning provided some cushioning, but a piece of rebar had pierced somewhere, sending excruciating pain throughout his body.

He rolled over and continued to fall, scraping across a security grill with a "rip," tearing his clothes open—he couldn’t hang on and kept falling.

Then he hit a clothesline on the second floor and rolled off, landing on the top of a stall’s tent on the ground floor.

The sunshade collapsed beneath them, completely hiding both parties from view.

The firefighters had just opened the rescue air cushion and were about to finish inflating it when the two suddenly fell.

Without time to consider anything else, both firefighters and medical staff swarmed towards the collapsed sunshade to rescue them as soon as possible.

Upstairs, Amelia Garcia clung to the edge of the rooftop, watching the whole process unfold with a heart full of intense pain, fear, and despair... It felt like the end of the world, the very destruction of Earth.

"Christopher Hart! Ethan... Ethan——" Her voice broke as she cried out, completely hoarse, but it was in vain.

Lily Garcia was subdued by the police and pulled back from the edge of the rooftop, her hands cuffed behind her.

But she was still laughing.

Bending over to look at the chaos below, and seeing many people frantically trying to rescue victims from the collapsed sunshade, she laughed loudly: "Christopher Hart’s dead... From that height, he’s definitely dead... Hahaha, he’s off to meet King Rhys with his son! Hahaha——"

Amelia Garcia stared fixedly at the scene below, her despair and grief spreading through her like a mushroom cloud from an explosion.

And yet Lily Garcia, with a complete loss of humanity, was still adding fuel to the fire!

She suddenly turned around, her eyes bloodshot and bleak, "Lily Garcia! I want you to join them in death!"

Before her words fell silent, she attacked with gritted teeth, her hands clasping Lily Garcia’s throat like claws, shaking her fiercely.

With Lily’s hands cuffed behind her, she had no power to fight back.

Choked by Amelia, Lily’s cheeks quickly turned red, her tongue sticking out as she gagged.

"Lady Norton! Let go immediately!"

"Release her! She will face legal justice! Release her now!"

"Calm down!"

The police officers were all trying to persuade her, tugging at her arms and pulling her away.

But Amelia Garcia, overwhelmed by extreme sorrow and rage, had clearly lost all sense of rationale.

A demon with a heart of a serpent like Lily Garcia shouldn’t be allowed to live!

Strangle her!

Strangle her as vengeance for her son!

Although she was a frail woman, the primordial strength that erupted within her at that moment prevented several strong men from pulling her away.

Downstairs, medical and firefighting teams found the man and child beneath the tarp.

Christopher Hart lay curled on his side, his arms tightly guarding the child at his chest, one hand still pressing the child’s head into the crook of his shoulder, both of them motionless.

Beneath him, a dark red pool of blood had already spread—whether it was his, the child’s, or both was uncertain.

"We’ve found them! Don’t move him!"

"Don’t move!"

Given the unclear extent of the injuries, rashly moving the injured person could only exacerbate the risk and cause secondary harm, so medical staff immediately cautioned and hurriedly brought the first-aid kit.

Just when everyone thought both the adult and child had passed out, they were startled by the sound of a child’s crying. People exclaimed in alarm, "The child is alright! The child is crying! Hurry and rescue the child!"

The medical staff carefully attempted to move Christopher Hart’s arm.

But they found that even though he was in a semi-conscious state, his arm, seemingly by instinct, was still tightly protecting the child in his embrace.

"Sir! Sir! We are doctors, here to save you! We need to check the child’s condition... Sir?"

Medical staff tried to communicate with the man, clarifying their identity and intentions.

Half-conscious, Christopher Hart understood, and relaxed the strength in his arm with what little awareness he had left.

Ethan was rescued.

"Quickly check the child for injuries to see if he’s been hurt."

Another medic took Ethan, conducted inquiries, checked his hands and feet, and lifted his clothes to see if there were any wounds on his body.

"It seems like the child is fine... just some scrapes, probably more startled than anything," the doctor declared after an initial examination, unbelievably.

Falling from the seventh floor with only a few scrapes was nothing short of a miracle!

It was clear Christopher Hart had protected him well, truly risking his life to shield the child!

The police outside received the news and immediately communicated with colleagues, "The child is fine, have the adults come down quickly, the child is doing well! He’s crying!"

The voice transmitted from the walkie-talkie, and the officers upstairs were equally astonished, "The child is fine! The child is doing well!"

"Lady Norton, your son is alright, he’s doing well and crying! Listen!" The officer couldn’t pull apart the frenzied, out-of-control Amelia Garcia and had to quickly relay the good news to her, taking the walkie-talkie down to her ear.

The son’s cries came through clearly, Amelia Garcia was stunned, turning to look at the walkie-talkie.

"Ethan... it’s Ethan’s crying—" Overwhelmed with emotion, she let go of Lily Garcia, who she had nearly strangled to death, grabbed the walkie-talkie and shouted, "Ethan! Mommy’s here! Mommy’s coming soon! Don’t cry, don’t cry!"

She babblingly comforted her son, rushing towards the staircase.

Several officers hurried to follow her.

Elsewhere, Lily Garcia’s neck was freed, and she collapsed on the ground, panting heavily, murmuring to herself, "I didn’t die... from so high up... I didn’t die... it’s so unfair, so unfair..."

————

Amelia Garcia sprinted downstairs, tumbling several times, but she didn’t care, getting up and continuing to run.

When she burst out, the firefighters immediately cleared a pathway.

At a glance, she saw Christopher Hart lying on the ground, covered in blood stains, a sight that struck terror, with medics administering emergency treatment.

Amelia Garcia halted, staring at the man on the ground, gasping for breath, her mind buzzing, her entire world shaking violently.

Christopher Hart, would he... could he...

Someone beside her spoke, asking if she was the child’s mother. Her face ashen, the buzzing in her ears relentless, it was as if she heard, yet did not hear.

She didn’t know how her feet had reached the man’s side; her brain was a jumbled mess, her heartbeat chaotic beyond description.

Not until Ethan threw himself into her arms, repeatedly calling out, "Mommy, mommy," did she start to snap out of it, her ears again picking up external sounds.

"Ethan... Ethan—" She looked at her son’s tear-streaked face, holding him tightly in her arms, her body shaking violently.

Christopher Hart was bleeding profusely, and the medics simultaneously performed emergency first aid while shouting for him to stay alert, to wake up, to hold on!

Amelia Garcia’s thoughts were awakened, and she looked up at the chaotic and tense scene before her.

"Doctor, he..."

The medic urgently said, "Talk to him, keep him conscious! Hold on!"
