Scum Daddy Dreams Of Stealing My Mommy!
Chapter 222 Scold Me If You Love Me

Chapter 222: Chapter 222 Scold Me If You Love Me

The first day the children went to kindergarten, Amelia Garcia was distracted.

Kane came to inspect the store, and she accompanied him.

Perhaps it was because she had asked him to stay in a hotel last night that caused displeasure, for Kane’s behavior towards her had noticeably lost its previous warmth and attentiveness.

Apart from discussing work, they didn’t talk about anything else.

Amelia felt sad, not because Kane’s warmth towards her had cooled,

but she felt like she had hurt a true friend who had helped her enormously before.

Several times, she looked at Kane wanting to explain, but she found herself unable to speak and feared that an explanation would give Kane the wrong impression, making him think she had had a change of heart.

So, after hesitating, she ended up saying nothing at all.

Deep down, she hoped that Kane would return to his country soon.

Without seeing him, she wouldn’t have to think about these tangled issues.

After lunch, Kane had arranged to meet some friends in the afternoon and was about to leave.

Amelia got up politely to see him off.

At the elevator, Kane looked at her with a thoughtful stare from his piercing blue eyes.

The silence was so awkward that Amelia found herself searching for a topic, "So... when are you going back to your country? I can manage the work here. From now on... you won’t have to commute here; it’s quite bothersome."

As soon as she spoke, Amelia felt she had gone too far.

The statement, plainly, was pushing him away and suggesting he shouldn’t come back at all.

Kane obviously understood and his contemplative eyes refocused, his brows slightly furrowing, "Have you decided not to give me any chance at all?"

Some employees approached, and not wanting to be the subject of office gossip, Amelia whispered, "We will always be partners, as long as you don’t push me out."

The employee nodded politely to them, Amelia returned a forced smile, and just then the elevator arrived, and they both entered.

Without outsiders, Amelia let out a sigh of relief and further clarified, "Besides partners, we are still friends. If you need my help in the future, just ask."

Kane didn’t respond, nor did he even glance back at her.

He remained silent until the elevator dinged and he stepped out.

Amelia didn’t follow him out, just stood in the elevator, watching his tall figure gradually walking away.

Sigh...

He really was angry, wasn’t he?

The elevator ascended, and her phone rang.

She snapped back to reality, took out her phone, and seeing it, her already gloomy expression grew even more irritable, her brows knitting in displeasure.

"What?" she answered, her tone sharp.

Christopher was taken aback, "Who upset you?"

"You!"

The man chuckled helplessly, "I’m not even in front of you, how could I upset you?"

"..." Amelia couldn’t say anything in response, but she felt it was indeed his fault.

If it weren’t for him, maybe Kane wouldn’t have faced this indignity.

Seeing that she remained silent, Christopher laughed again, asking, "You’re in a bad mood, and since I called, you vented on me, right?"

"..." She still didn’t speak, but the suffocation in her chest became more apparent.

"Come on, if scolding me makes you feel better, just go ahead. I promise I won’t get mad or talk back."

Hearing him say this, Amelia really couldn’t help it, and instantly started scolding not-so-politely, "Christopher, you’re a complete jerk! Bastard! Unreasonable, authoritarian, and neurotic! Hypocritical and childish! You do whatever pleases you, completely disregarding other’s feelings! Utterly selfish to the core!"

"You think everyone should dance to your tune, don’t you? Well, I won’t! Why should I put up with you, a megalomaniac who doesn’t even understand basic respect? I’d rather stay single for life than get back together with you! Are you listening? Please, have some dignity and stop bothering me! Every time I see you, I just—"

She rambled on, firing on all cylinders, not yet having vented all the resentment built up inside her when the elevator reached its stop.

She had to stop speaking.

Christopher, on the other hand, listened quietly all the while.

Once it was quiet on her end, he asked, "Done? Is that all?"

"..." Amelia paused, then added, "You’re despicable, shameless, and vulgar!"

"Hmm!" The man responded, remarking, "Good, I’m pleased."

Amelia was stunned. Was his mind okay?

"Amelia, scientific studies show that people tend to lose their temper with those they are closest to, only letting their guard down around those they trust the most. Does your unguarded scolding mean you already consider me one of your own?"

Ha! Deadly—

Amelia almost rolled her eyes to the ceiling, didn’t utter a word in response, and just hung up the phone abruptly.

Brazen! Uncommunicable!

Returning to her office, she had just sat down when her phone rang again.

Upon checking, it was a message from him.

"I’ve already talked to your good-for-nothing brother. Lily Garcia indeed contacted him, apparently aiming to use him for some scheme, but he had declined. I’ll still have someone follow you and the kids these days, but don’t worry, it won’t interfere with your normal life."

She read it, her expression serious.

What on earth did Lily Garcia want?

Originally facing a few years for illegal organ trafficking, she could have been out soon.

But if she persisted in her delusion, adding crime upon crime, she’d face combined sentences during her prime and spend it all in prison.

Did she truly not care?

"Ding dong" a sound pulled her back, and her gaze returned to the screen.

"Amelia, rest assured, I will do everything I can to protect you and the children."

She sneered, not knowing how to respond, simply closed the app, put down the phone, and worked.

Wasn’t all the trouble and obstacles she encountered back in the country because of him?

If he truly wanted to protect them, the simplest and most direct way would be to give up their daughter and let her take her three children away from this troubled place.

Otherwise, it was all just talk.

At three in the afternoon, she left work early, thinking about her children’s first day at kindergarten, wanting to pick them up early.

Having ridden in Christopher’s car to the kindergarten in the morning, and later taken a taxi to the studio, she naturally had to call a car now.

However, just as she stepped to the roadside, before she could identify her rideshare, the imposing and pressure-inducing Navigator Lincoln, like a mountain, blocked her path.

The car door opened, and a familiar figure appeared.

His suit, tailor-made, highlighted his lean, formidable frame, and with his head bowed and feet moving, he displayed a cold, alluring mature charm.

Amelia stood on the curb watching him, distinctly hearing the gasps of admiration from passing girls.

Her heart skipped a beat, not for any reason other than human nature—the love for beauty.

As much as she despised the jerk, she had to admit his remarkable allure in appearance and physique.

If one day Seal-Cloud Corporation went bankrupt, and he shifted to the Entertainment Circle, he would undoubtedly create a phenomenal fan-following craze, easily becoming the national heartthrob.
