Scum Daddy Dreams Of Stealing My Mommy! -
Chapter 217: Kissing Deeply in Front of the Rival in Love
Chapter 217: Chapter 217: Kissing Deeply in Front of the Rival in Love
Amelia thought that entering the house would reveal a scene of violent strife.
Yet, the living room was unexpectedly serene.
Christopher was with Hope on the balcony, enjoying the sunset while teasing Little Dunham.
Meanwhile, Kane and the brothers had taken over the living room, with various LEGO pieces strewn all over the floor and the coffee table.
Seeing the woman enter, the men’s faces brightened with joy, their smiles widening as the children cheered and ran over.
"Mommy!"
"Mommy!"
The three little ones rushed over, surrounding her completely.
Unfortunately, she only had two legs and could not attend to all three children at once.
"Get away! She’s my mommy! You can’t hug her!" Hope had spent most of the day here without playing with her brothers, sticking with Little Dunham instead.
Now that she saw her brothers vying for their mother’s attention, she became stubborn again.
Noah, always considerate, quickly stepped aside to make room for his sister to hug their mother.
Amelia, witnessing the children’s conflict and seeing Noah step back forlornly, couldn’t bear it. She quickly beckoned the little guy over, embracing all three together.
"Hope, you used to like your brothers. Treating them like this now will make them sad," Amelia attempted once more to persuade her daughter to accept her brothers.
But the little girl hung her head sulkily, pouting childishly, "Before, they didn’t call you ’mommy’... If they stop calling you ’mommy,’ I’ll play with them."
"But they are also mommy’s treasures," Amelia crouched down, cradling her daughter’s delicate face gently, "You three are siblings, all born from mommy’s belly."
"Hope is so smart; surely, you understand what mommy is saying, don’t you?"
"Your brothers love and care for you so much, isn’t that wonderful? Don’t you want more people to love and pamper you?"
The little girl stubbornly declared, "I have a daddy and a mommy, that’s enough..."
Christopher approached, frowning slightly, his hand on his daughter’s shoulder, "Stop pressuring her, or she’ll start crying and run away."
His warning had the opposite effect; as soon as he spoke, Hope immediately turned and buried herself in her father’s arms, her tears nearly spilling over.
Amelia stood up, took a deep breath, and could only smile reassuringly at her sons.
In the kitchen, Sister Jones was busy preparing dinner.
Originally, Kane had told Sister Jones not to come today.
However, with Christopher arriving so early, they took turns occupying the kitchen at noon, each finding faults with the other’s cooking.
To avoid wasting food in the evening, Kane called Sister Jones back to prepare dinner before leaving.
Seeing that Sister Jones had everything ready, Amelia rolled up her sleeves to take over, "Sister Jones, you can go back. I’ll handle it from here."
Sister Jones nodded, "Okay. I prepared these dishes according to Mr. Kane’s instructions; I hope they meet your standards."
"That’s fine, they’re great."
As Sister Jones turned to leave, she suddenly remembered something and turned back, "Miss Norton, should I come over early tomorrow, or..."
Amelia, who was tying an apron, turned to answer, "Come over early."
She planned to have a serious talk with Kane tonight.
She would suggest that he return to his country.
Whether he busied himself with work or earnestly started dating suitable girls—either way, he shouldn’t waste time on her.
Her messy relationship with Christopher was simply unfair to him.
Therefore, they would still need Sister Jones to care for the boys tomorrow.
But just as she finished speaking, Christopher entered, his tone neutral but firm, "No need for tomorrow. The kids will go to kindergarten; I’ve already arranged everything."
"Tomorrow?" Amelia was surprised, looking outside subconsciously, "Did you discuss it with them?"
"I mentioned it this afternoon. Both looked at me without saying anything."
But agreeing or not, children’s wishes couldn’t dictate whether or not they should start schooling.
Normally, they should have started at three years old; they were already much delayed.
It was essential for them to experience collective life.
Amelia clearly agreed with him, saying, "Let me talk to them after dinner. Then, Sister Jones, you needn’t come over until I call you."
"Alright." Sister Jones nodded repeatedly, indifferent to the days she worked since her salary was secured regardless of their decisions.
With Sister Jones gone, Amelia was left alone in the kitchen.
Christopher looked back at the living room, saw the children playing by themselves, and naturally stepped into the kitchen.
"I’ll help you," he offered, looking at her continuing to court favor.
"No need, I can whip up a few dishes quickly. You’ve been here all day; go home after dinner."
"And him?"
"Who?" she asked, turning back, her delicate facial features composed.
Christopher’s gaze deepened as he managed to restrain his desire to kiss her, his voice tinged with dissatisfaction, "It’s not appropriate for you two, unmarried, to live together. Besides, now everyone knows about our relationship. Having him stay here, where does that leave my dignity?"
Amelia scoffed, "You still have dignity? I didn’t notice."
"..." His face darkened slightly, and he brazenly replied, "I only put aside my pride and dignity in front of you. Outside, I definitely need to maintain my image."
"Then I’d ask President Hart to maintain some dignity in front of me too. For instance, when I don’t want you around, you could proudly stay away."
"..."
Seeing his sullen silence, Amelia didn’t care, washed the pan, and started cooking.
The range hood automatically turned on, its roaring breaking the silence between them.
Christopher stood by, watching her intently.
Amelia turned to grab something when she found Christopher in the way and elbowed him, "Get out!"
Unexpectedly, the man seized the chance to catch her arm and pull her into an embrace, kissing her.
"Ugh... Christopher... you bastard!"
She was in the middle of cooking!
But Christopher didn’t care, kissing her while saying, "Let him scram... monopolizing my woman and child, what right does he have..."
Amelia understood.
This was madness, all because of Kane.
It seemed there had been no shortage of conflicts between them today.
Was it just because she had come back that things had temporarily cooled down?
"Christopher Hart, let’s get this straight—we’re divorced, and it’s my freedom to be with whoever I want—right now, I’m with Kane, and you’re the one who’s interfering! Who should really leave?"
Angry, she pushed his face away, creating distance between them in his embrace, and gasping, she reminded him again.
Christopher’s features were cold, and looking down at her with hooded eyes, he sneered, "Do you think I’m stupid? Can’t I see that you don’t really love him?"
Her heart skipped a beat, her eyes visibly shaking.
This bastard...
Christopher saw her reaction clearly, which made him even more certain.
"Your feelings for him are more about gratitude, and don’t touch upon love. I know better than anyone how you look when you truly love someone."
Panicked at heart, Amelia dared not meet his gaze. But then she felt anger stirred from being seen through—or was it the embarrassment from rekindling an old flame? She couldn’t tell.
Smelling something burning, she almost jumped up in alarm, but before she could turn around, Christopher swiftly turned off the burner.
With her rationality returning, she didn’t respond to Christopher’s words but pushed him away and turned around.
"I’m cooking now. Just get out!"
Christopher hugged her from behind again, his handsome face buried in her neck, "Amelia, do you hate me?"
This man is insane!
Amelia resisted with all her might!
Kane and the kids were just outside.
Was he ever going to stop?
"Hate me as much as you can, the more you hate, the less you’ll forget—even if you really forget, as long as your heart isn’t inhabited by someone else, I can reclaim it."
His thin lips were against the skin of her neck, each word imbued with a searing heat, scorching her senses.
"Christopher," she closed her eyes, tense all over, forcing herself to stay calm and then through gritted teeth yet almost pleadingly, "Can’t you just let me go?"
"Can’t," he chuckled, his arms tightening around her, "who says you ever let go of me?"
What nonsense is this?
"When did I—" She turned abruptly, ready to explode in anger, but instead, her eyes met another firm figure standing in the kitchen.
"Kane..." she panicked, murmuring, and struggled even harder.
Christopher didn’t make it difficult for her and let go just before Kane strode forward, his fist about to strike. He released her, allowing her to break free.
Amelia quickly intercepted Kane, whispering low, "The children are outside, don’t..."
Kane, with his fists clenched, had anger flaring in his eyes.
Looking down at Amelia, his charming ice-blue eyes swirling with unreadable complex emotions.
Christopher, however, smiled suavely and casually said, "I’ll come pick up the kids for kindergarten early tomorrow morning." Then he walked away with long strides.
Now only Amelia and Kane were left in the kitchen.
They stood in silence across each other.
After a while, Amelia remembered she still had to cook and returned to the stove.
Kane moved next to her, ready to help her with the vegetables she was about to fry, and suddenly said, "Qing... I’ve come back this time planning to take you back to Zurich with me."
He switched to English, speaking fluently and clearly.
Amelia was surprised and turned to him, not knowing how to respond.
"I’ve already told my family, I’ve found the woman I love and I won’t be with Betty—so, I hope you can come back with me, to face them together."
Amelia was stunned.
This, this was too sudden.
What about the kids?
If she were to take the brothers and leave Hope again at this moment, their mother-daughter bond might be completely severed.
Hope would never forgive her.
"I know you can’t bear to leave Hope, so let’s bring her too. He trusts you with Hope, right? Find a time to bring her over, and I’ll arrange everything. By the time he finds out, we’ll surely be already in Zurich."
Amelia was extremely conflicted, her expression troubled, "Kane... I, I was just about to tell you, you—"
"Qing, the reason you’re unsure about your feelings for me is that he keeps interfering. I believe once we leave here, you’ll definitely fall for me."
Just as Christopher saw through Amelia’s lack of romantic feelings for Kane, Kane himself was very clear about it.
But he still didn’t want to give up.
He knew what he wanted, being no longer young. It wasn’t an impulsive decision or driven by hormones.
He was simply captivated by the radiance this Eastern woman exuded and wanted to spend his life with her.
