Chapter 120: Chapter 120: The Grandson Bumps Headlong into His Grandmother
"Rest assured..." Young Master Palmer said with an embarrassed smile, "I have no inappropriate thoughts towards your ex-wife, so don’t get paranoid. I’m truly offering you sincere advice."
Christopher Hart frowned, frustrated, "I’ve already tried everything you’ve mentioned."
"What?"
"Come up with something fresh."
"You’ve tried everything? And it didn’t work?" Young Master Palmer stroked his chin, muttering, "That can’t be right, unless she really doesn’t love you anymore."
Christopher lost his appetite and leaned back into the couch, dropping his chopsticks, "I didn’t expect her to be so cruel. During those three years when I neglected her, she wasn’t... like she is now."
Benny Palmer saw his look of deep regret and sighed, "Men... sometimes they are just self-destructive."
"..."
"However, I think your most pressing task is to resolve things with Lily Garcia, otherwise how can you two reconcile? You want Amelia to be the other woman? Just look at what’s been going on online recently. She refused, and that’s one of the reasons."
"I know, I’m handling it."
Speaking of Lily Garcia, Christopher then mentioned the events of the previous night and the results of Lucas King’s investigation.
Benny Palmer was shocked after hearing this, "That’s so sensational and melodramatic! Does Michael Garcia know his wife is cheating? Wouldn’t he flip?"
"He’s no saint himself. The couple is each as bad as the other."
"That’s true." Benny Palmer smiled and took a sip of his wine.
When he put down his glass, something suddenly occurred to him, "Right, when Wendy had her kidney transplant surgery back then, how did you handle the procedures? Non-relative kidney transplants are quite troublesome, right? I remember there were barely any cases nationally. If you hadn’t blocked the news, the media would have surely reported it."
Speaking of this, Christopher Hart recalled for a moment, "The procedure was indeed complex, but Lily Garcia signed a voluntary consent form and didn’t violate any ethical standards—what’s wrong?"
"Where did Lily Garcia have her kidney removal surgery? Was it at the same hospital as Wendy’s family?"
"No." At this juncture, Christopher also furrowed his brows, "At that time, we indeed arranged for the same hospital, but Fiona Marshall was worried about the attention it would attract and the potential negative impact, so they opted for another top-tier hospital."
"The one where that deputy head worked at that time?"
"Mm."
Benny Palmer remained silent, stroking his chin. After a while, he looked at Christopher Hart with a mysterious and eerie smile.
Christopher suddenly realized something as their eyes met.
"Christopher, it’s possible... your entire family might have been deceived by Fiona Marshall and her daughter."
Christopher’s face turned pale, and he suddenly stood up, grabbed his phone, and hurriedly left.
Benny Palmer continued to scratch his chin, deep in thought and muttering to himself, "If this is true, then Fiona Marshall and her daughter are really something, even more cunning than when Amelia Garcia faked her death..."
As Christopher drove straight to Lily Garcia’s private hospital, Emma Carter just arrived at Imperial Garden Villa.
She had gone to the hospital at noon, hoping to have a private conversation with Hope—from the child’s perspective.
Unexpectedly, it was in vain as the doctor said the child had been discharged.
So she went directly to the house.
Entering the living room, she was almost scared into thinking she had walked into the wrong house.
Seeing Amelia Garcia was one thing, but why was there also a young woman and a teenage boy?
And her granddaughter, who was supposed to be recuperating, was giggling happily.
That harmonious scene seemed to belong in a home of their own.
After her initial shock, Emma Carter strode forward. As the laughter in the room abruptly ceased, she frowned and demanded, "Where is Christopher Hart? Who are you? Who invited you here?"
Amelia Garcia rose from the carpet, feeling somewhat nervous.
It wasn’t fear of anything else, but concern that Emma Carter might recognize Ethan and suspect his identity.
Amelia exchanged a silent glance with Snow Fitch and moved forward, trying to present a calm demeanor, "He had to step out for a bit. If you need him, give him a call."
Emma Carter glared at her, her words tinged with scorn, "What do you mean by this? Walking into our house uninvited and without any relation?"
Amelia, feeling in the wrong, couldn’t respond directly and said coldly, "I’m merely here accompanying the child."
"That doesn’t give you the right to be in the home! Christopher has caused so much trouble because of you! Now, Lily Garcia is lying in the hospital, uncertain if she can even stand again, yet here you are, brazenly staying at home with the child ..."
By the end of her sentence, Emma Carter was at a loss for words, and pointing at her nose she shouted, "How shameless can you be? How can there be such a shameless woman in the world!"
As the two confronted each other, Snow Fitch subtly moved and shielded Ethan behind her.
Unexpectedly, the little guy couldn’t bear to see his mother being bullied and suddenly darted out from behind Snow Fitch, charging at Emma Carter like a tiny tiger.
"Ethan!"
"Ah—" Caught off guard, Emma Carter was knocked into the couch by Ethan’s unrestrained force.
"Wow! Big brother, that was awesome!" Hope, who had been sitting quietly until then, immediately started clapping and cheering joyfully.
Amelia and Snow Fitch were petrified with fear!
"Ethan!" Snow Fitch quickly stepped forward, intercepting the little guy who was about to charge again, forcefully holding him in her arms, and looked anxiously and guiltily at Amelia.
Amelia gave her son a stern look and hurried to help Emma Carter up, "Aunt Carter, are you alright? He’s just a mischievous child, please don’t take it personally."
"Me, take it personally?" Emma Carter, clutching her stomach and enduring the pain, stood up trembling with anger, glaring at Snow Fitch, "Who are you? Whose child is this? Doesn’t anyone discipline him?"
Snow Fitch still protected Ethan’s head in her arms, defiantly replying, "He’s my child. What about it? Who asked you to start insulting people as soon as you arrived, upsetting even a child?"
Emma Carter eyed Snow Fitch, thought hard for a moment, and finding her face familiar, couldn’t recall who she was.
Snow Fitch introduced herself, "I’m Jayden Fitch’s daughter. Your son personally called me to bring the kids over to play."
"So, you’re the daughter of the Fitch family..." Emma Carter nodded, remembering, "The Fitch family, supposedly esteemed, yet this is the upbringing you get —It’s a miracle your parents haven’t killed you yet."
"Your daughter is frail and scheming, framing others and even breaking up her own brother’s family—she’s got a record of bad behavior, yet I haven’t seen you parents do anything drastic about her!"
Snow Fitch, known for her sharp tongue, didn’t hold back in retaliating.
Amelia listened on the side, without intervening.
In the past, she might have advised Snow Fitch to refrain.
But now, she understood the ways of the world.
In this era, evil people love to pick on the weak; the kind-hearted are bullied.
"You—" Emma Carter, clearly not expecting the young to be so "unmannered," was too furious to speak.
Aunt Harper, anxious and pacing on the side, stepped forward to smooth things over, "Madam, it was indeed Mr. Hart who personally called Miss Fitch over because Miss Hope was stuck in the hospital and felt bored. Having a little friend over to play might cheer her up."
"There are so many children available! Why choose such a wild child!"
Emma Carter shouted back, her gaze finally settling on the child in front of Snow Fitch.
