Chapter 107: Chapter 107: Love That Comes Late Is Worth Less Than Grass
Lucas King took Lily Garcia to a villa.
At first, Lily was thrilled, thinking that Christopher Hart had suddenly developed a conscience—believing that after her previous protest, he had generously compensated her with a villa.
It wasn’t until Lucas and a group of bodyguards gathered at the door, muttering to themselves, and then got into the car to leave, that she suddenly realized something was wrong.
"Hey~ Assistant King!"
She hurriedly chased after them, but before she could step out of the living room, she was blocked by bodyguards at the door.
"What do you mean by this?" Lily was furious, unable to push through the bodyguards, and yelled at the top of her voice, "Lucas King! Why are you leaving me behind?"
Lucas stood by the car door, politely smiled, and explained, "Miss Garcia, President Hart has your best interest at heart; he wants you to recuperate in such a tranquil place. Just rest assured and take care of yourself."
With that, before Lily could protest, the car sped away.
"Wait! Come back! Come back!"
Lily stomped her feet in anger, but there was nothing she could do.
Returning to the living room, she took out her phone from her purse, intending to call for help, but none of the numbers could be dialed out.
Looking closer, she saw there was absolutely no signal on her phone!
It all became clear in an instant.
Lily kicked the sofa in a rage, "Christopher Hart! You’ve gone too far! You’re confining me! Just for that wretched Amelia Garcia, you’re actually confining me!"
Yes, Lily had been put under house arrest.
Christopher knew that she always acted without thinking of the consequences, a crazy woman, and he was worried that she would reveal Amelia’s identity.
At this stage, he did not want the outside world to know about it.
Especially his own family.
Otherwise, his journey to "win back his wife" would become even more difficult and perilous.
But what he did not know was that Lily had informed Wendy Hart at the first opportunity.
When Fiona Marshall called Christopher Hart to demand her daughter back, Wendy was just bringing her mother, Emma Carter, to her bedside.
"What did you say? The Fox Spirit is actually Amelia Garcia?"
Upon hearing her daughter’s words, Emma’s eyes nearly popped out of her head.
"I suspected as much all along," Wendy said darkly, her eyes filled with malice, "She’s really clever, fooling all of us."
Emma sat down, dazed, recalling the scene of her last visit to Amelia, and found it suspicious.
"That woman, I’ve seen her before... dressed up like a ghost, reeking of alcohol, how could she be Amelia?"
"She was clearly trying to confuse you."
"But the way she spoke—"
"Ah, Mom, my brother did a paternity test long ago, that woman is Hope’s biological mother, what else do you doubt! It’s normal for her to be rude to you, isn’t it? She’s always hated us! Did you expect her to be cordial and attentive to you?"
Emma’s face hardened, and she snorted coldly, "She still hates us? If it wasn’t for your narrow escape back then, I would have gone from white-haired sending off the black-haired, not putting her in prison was mercy enough! Back in the day, wasn’t I kind to her when she lost her mother early? An ungrateful wolf in sheep’s clothing!"
Emma was still seething with resentment when recalling the past.
What she found most intolerable was that their Grandpa had been bewitched back then, turning his back on his own family.
Despite knowing the girl’s viper-like nature, he still insisted on forcing his own grandson to marry her—with the ultimatum that there would be no inheritance of the company if there was no marriage!
A true Fox Spirit!
Not only did she bewitch her son, but she also had Grandpa utterly spellbound.
Wendy said, "I thought my brother had stopped loving her, but now it seems, he’s still not given up on that woman."
Emma Carter listened to her daughter and suddenly fixed her gaze, asking, "You said your brother knew she was Amelia Garcia a long time ago?"
"Exactly!"
Emma ground her teeth, "Your brother really is a loser! Out of so many women in the world, why did he have to fall for that Fox Spirit’s trick!"
Wendy Hart looked sorrowful and dispirited.
"I don’t even know when it started, but my brother just can’t seem to stand me... Even though he clearly knows the true nature of that woman, it was one thing when Grandpa forced him, but four years after the divorce, he still wants to rekindle the relationship..."
As Wendy spoke, tears streamed down her face, "If they really get remarried, there will be no place for me in this house. What’s the point of me even being alive..."
Emma was already sympathetic towards her daughter, and upon hearing this, she felt even more pity and quickly comforted her, "Don’t worry, as long as I’m alive, that whore will never step foot in the Hart Family home again!"
Wendy was waiting for her mother’s words and sighed upon hearing them, "I’m afraid big brother may not listen to you."
"Don’t worry about these things. Just focus on recovering. Your brother is unreliable, but you are the daughter who is close to my heart. You must live well, otherwise, what would I do in the latter half of my life..."
Overcome with emotion, Wendy threw herself into Emma’s embrace, and mother and daughter held each other tightly.

Fiona Marshall gave Christopher Hart a tongue-lashing over the phone, but couldn’t get any information out of him. Angrily she hung up.
Christopher’s expression was cold. As soon as he put down the phone, he received a WhatsApp message from Lucas King—a hand gesture for "OK".
He pondered for a moment, considering the character of the Garcia Family, and still feeling uneasy, he made another call.
Lucas answered and verbally reported again, "President Hart, the person has been delivered. We’ve assigned six bodyguards to watch her, and we’ve blocked her mobile signal too. She won’t be leaving any time soon."
"Okay, tell them to stay alert, Lily Garcia can be unpredictable when she goes off the rails."
"Yes, they’ve all been reminded."
Christopher had made the call specifically to give another instruction.
"Find two more clever people to follow Amelia. They don’t have to be too close, just make sure they are with her when she leaves the house and during her commute."
Lucas was puzzled, "President Hart, do you want to monitor your wife?"
He didn’t correct the title, simply explaining, "It’s for her protection. Lily and Wendy are so close, it’s very likely that Wendy already knows."
He feared his family might cause trouble for Amelia again.
And with her being angry with him, she certainly wouldn’t turn to him if she encountered any problems.
Lucas understood, "Got it, I understand."
After hanging up, he still felt uneasy.
If his sister already knew the truth, she would definitely tell their mother.
But given the current strained relationship between the Hart and Garcia families, she likely wouldn’t tell Fiona Marshall.
If Lily hadn’t had the chance to inform them yet, then the Garcia Family probably wouldn’t threaten her for the time being.
Having thought this through, he returned to his daughter’s bedside, his mind echoing with her words on the rooftop.
Not having his daughter by his side was his only regret in life.
He very much wanted to make it happen, but he was afraid that if he gave his daughter to her, she would take off and never come back.
As long as his daughter was in his grasp, she was like a kite on a string, bound to return no matter how far she flew.
Hope noticed her father sitting by the bed in a daze, his eyes seemingly reflecting some sadness. Considerate as she was, she tugged at her father’s hand, "Daddy, are you thinking about Mommy?"
"Yeah," the man snapped back to reality, looking at his daughter, his large hand stroking her little head, "Sweetheart, recover quickly, okay? Once you’re better, could you help Daddy cheer up Mommy?"
"Yeah, yeah! Mommy loves me the most, she’ll be happy as soon as she sees me!"
