Chapter 866: Chapter 582: The Arrival of “Light.”_2 Chapter 866: Chapter 582: The Arrival of “Light.”_2 “A very large creature, with a human upper body and either a snake or fish-like lower body? A mermaid? Hmph, lucky you, always encountering beauties wherever you go…”
Liu Yun pursed her lips displeasedly, glancing sideways at Colin and muttered softly.
Although Yukionna couldn’t quite understand her emotions, feeling a bit of Liu Yun’s anger, she still comforted her in her own way, clearly regarding Liu Yun, who came from the same hometown, as a friend to some extent.
Of course, for Liu Yun, Yukionna naturally felt some envy, like a kid on a shabby bicycle watching a sleek sports car, the other seemed far more perfect, stirring a great desire within her.
“You’re not so bad yourself, your development isn’t even complete, venturing out in a state that could almost be described as premature, logically, you should have turned into a monster by now, and the fact that you didn’t lose control and grow this much is actually quite miraculous…”
Liu Yun patted Yukionna: “Of course, you’re also quite lucky to have met him, with that flame constantly fueling you with humanity, stabilizing your condition, and having enough interaction, you’re just about able to be considered ‘graduated.’ Otherwise, it would really be hard to say whether you’re human or ghost…”
“Ooh~” Yukionna nodded somewhat understandingly, then pointed at her chin, seemingly thinking of something.
“You say you still can’t speak? This is a bit difficult to fix, most likely due to incomplete development. If you want to learn, as far as I know, you might have to go back to your hometown for a while because it’s not just about simply being unable to speak.”
“Premature, with incomplete structures, there are always some strange defects…”
“But this defect isn’t too significant, going back just for this wouldn’t be necessary, I guess you wouldn’t want to go back either, and even if you did, you might not be able to leave, yeah, even getting in might be difficult now, it’s like a fortress…”
Liu Yun explained bit by bit to Yukionna, having grasped most of the relevant knowledge from her direct superior, the “Formless Mother.”
Yukionna, not understanding much, shook her head fearfully at the mention of going back.
Then, subconsciously wanting to run to Colin, who was sitting next to Liu Yun, she only made it halfway when Liu Yun, sensing something, with a dangerous gleam in her eyes, reached out her hand in advance and grabbed Yukionna, pressing her down on the other side:
“I’m here, don’t be scared. Right now, as long as you can communicate, it’s not a big problem, at worst, you can use the wind to mimic speech, the principle is the same as how humans produce sound, just feels a bit different, or maybe there’s some item that can interpret thoughts and speak for you.”
Liu Yun raised her hand, smoothing her hair on her forehead, her distinct black and white eyes looking at Yukionna who was left aside: “So, this isn’t a defect worth going back for, you can figure out a way to solve it… oh, I recommend you also try to increase your wisdom a bit.”
Yukionna immediately showed approval of her words, nodding vigorously, oblivious to the slight incident that had just happened.
“Hehe, right…”
Liu Yun smiled, about to ask something more, but then stopped suddenly, her expression turning serious, “Looks like another ignorant creature has come…”
As she finished speaking, silent, pitch-black lightning flickered, and a battle ended in a very brief moment.
She didn’t breathe a sigh of relief nor linger there, but instead had Yukionna return to the ring and quickly left the perhaps already exposed location with Colin, seeking shelter elsewhere.
Time passed day by day in hiding, the days sometimes mundane, sometimes dangerous, but on the whole, they were somehow blissful…
Especially when Colin occasionally woke up, even if only managing a few words, it always lifted Liu Yun’s spirits.
During this period, Liu Yun’s exploration of the sea did not stop, although there were several opportunities that unfortunately got intercepted, and once she almost stepped into a trap…
Luckily, Colin woke up just in time, offering some help that allowed her to escape smoothly.
“It’s really tough…”
Standing in front of a mirror, Liu Yun murmured to herself, the reflection showing her body distorted from continuous encounters, looking like a melting wax figure.
But the next moment, as if realizing something, her form sharply consolidated back to a delicate and pretty appearance.
After making sure she looked fine, she picked up a small basket and pushed open the door, “Are you awake? Feeling any better?”
“Yeah, alright.”
Colin nodded, then said, “I just might not be able to stay awake for too long, these days have been hard on you…”
“Hard? No, acting for your sake never feels hard, I’m actually happy; however, you are still too kind. If you hadn’t taken on the hurts at the shelter last time and moved them, you would be much better by now.”
Liu Yun shook her head but knew it was no use convincing otherwise. She didn’t linger on the subject. Instead, she put down the basket in front of Colin and pulled out a soup bowl.
“Come on, open your mouth, chicken soup.”
Colin didn’t refuse; the sweet broth slid down his throat, and he felt a long-absent sensation of human appetite being somewhat satisfied.
Since the battle had started, he hadn’t really eaten in a long time.
“This… where did you get this?” Colin’s voice was hoarse, as he slowly and curiously asked.
“I grabbed a chicken along the way as we fled,” Liu Yun explained simply and then blinked, expectantly asking, “Is it good?”
“Mm, your cooking skills are excellent…” Colin spared no praise.
“That’s good, I learned specifically for you…”
Liu Yun smiled, and after finishing feeding the chicken soup, they talked for a while until she suddenly realized he was silent again.
Turning her head, she saw he had once again fallen into a deep slumber…
Seeing this, a hint of fatigue surfaced in Liu Yun’s eyes. Then, she lightly patted her cheeks with both hands, invigorated herself, and began tidying up slowly while softly humming a lullaby-like tune:
“Sleep, sleep…”
Days turned into months in the blink of an eye.
When the power of the “Red Moon” fragments peaked like a breath, Liu Yun finally saw an opportunity. She decisively carried Colin, facing the dangerous red glow towards her, and forcefully broke through to the Deep Sea.
About ten days later, a ragged humanoid creature, dragging a trail of blood, finally broke through and reached a shattered port, seeing the sea shimmering with crimson reflections…
“Colin, we’re about to make it!”
The excited young girl in an exquisite black dress exclaimed.
Unfortunately, Colin, who was carried in front of her and had passed out from the intense battle, hadn’t heard her words.
But just as she held her breath to sprint the final distance, her steps suddenly halted…
“Trap?” Liu Yun was startled, feeling various terrifying wills slowly descending on this spot.
Merely under their gaze, the scene began to transform.
Sensing the rapidly approaching danger, she looked at the figure in her arms, gritted her teeth with a flash of reluctance, regret, and guilt in her eyes, prepared to transport him away from this place.
Although the sea was indeed just ahead and was already faintly perceptible, both she and Colin were too exhausted to advance further.
And sending him away this time might mean they would never see each other again.
However, just as she was about to act, she suddenly felt an inspiration burst forth in her mind—its message was simple—
“Seize the opportunity and move forward.”
The aura contained in the inspiration was very unfamiliar, yet somewhat familiar…
The next second, a blinding light suddenly burst before her eyes.
