SCP Corporation: Contain Bonfire
Chapter 850 - 850 575 The 3rd Coming Day. _2

Chapter 850: Chapter 575: The 3rd “Coming Day”. _2 Chapter 850: Chapter 575: The 3rd “Coming Day”. _2 “You…” The Rat-man wanted to say something, but he found himself dizzy and disoriented from being hit by a child—

How could this be possible? How could he be so weak that a child with no extraordinary means could knock him out with a brick?

And at that moment, a burst of footsteps suddenly emerged.

He saw that, upon witnessing his weakness, the fear in the eyes of the people hiding behind vanished, replaced by a chilling hatred…

This hatred consumed all their emotions, driving them to seek some kind of revenge.

A chaotic assault came from all directions the next second; amid his dizziness from being hit, he seemed to finally realize the reason:

“Fate…!”

“No, you can’t treat me this way…” Amidst various attacks, he struggled to extend a hand, trying to crawl away.

But in the end, under the stormy fury of the people, his hand fell to the ground and was trampled and broken.

Unaware to those still furiously venting their anger on the corpse was that, at that moment, a line of secret, inconspicuous text appeared on their retinas.

“[Those who choose to sacrifice others, in the end, die at the hands of those they sacrificed…]”

“[To die so meagerly in a remote, narrow ruin, unknown to anyone.]”

“[And the avengers, from that point on, harden their hearts and continue to exist in this world.]”

At the same time, in a barely functioning basement, Colin, who Yukionna had stuffed into what she considered the safest place—the freezer compartment of a refrigerator—suddenly opened his eyes slightly, revealing a flicker of confusion in his turbid gaze.

For some reason, he felt much lighter, as if some indescribable danger had suddenly disappeared…

But he couldn’t quite put his finger on what it was exactly.

‘It must be… a good thing,’ Colin thought groggily.

Taking the opportunity, he routinely sensed the outside world and could confirm one thing: the world had indeed grown much larger, possibly due to all those small worlds, inner worlds, and the like…

Because of the “Red Moon,” these worlds were all exposed.

Consequently, Earth’s area had expanded to an extent previously unimaginable, and the anomalies and Heretic Races emerging from these worlds mingled together, creating an even tenser situation…

The good news was, this also made it harder for those things to find him.

The bad news was…

It was now an era of unprecedented chaos.

In Colin’s mind, under the strong sense of spirituality, he could vaguely glimpse scenes unfolding in various worlds—

On a continent aglow with a strange light, countless kangaroo-like creatures burst forth, trying to spread beyond the world, but most sank into the sea without traveling far.

Underground, odd, mucus-like creatures surged out in hordes and spread themselves out as much as they could to bathe in the red light, voicing their praises…

In some regions, every few kilometers felt like entering a different world—one moment it was a land of snow and ice, the next it was an endless flow of lava, or a bizarre area devoid of gravity…

From a distance, it looked as though different worlds had been stitched together, with clear boundaries.

Some surviving humans whispered in the dark, praying, unwittingly drawing the unsettling gaze of others…

“It feels like I can almost imagine the sea now. Looks like the blockade has dissolved a bit…”

Colin’s thoughts were fragmented as he remembered the time before he had come out of “Hunger” and the “Red Moon” pollution hadn’t spread, when the power of the Gods was still present…

There was a time when he had forgotten even the concept contained in the word “sea,” and had it not been for a mission hanging over him, he might have forgotten the word “sea” entirely.

But now he remembered much more, at least he recalled what the ocean was.

And he had a sense of where this thing might be…

“Once some time has passed, the blockade weakens, and my body feels a bit better, then I can try to have Yukionna take me into the sea…”

Colin thought drowsily; he was very sure that these negative effects on him could not be cured by rest alone.

Only by following the mission and entering the sea could he be cured.

But before that, it was time to sleep…

No, to think about how to escape the nightmares after falling unconscious.

Inside his dreams, he kept repeating very rigid and monotonous actions, like endlessly climbing stairs with his body out of control, then feeling a magnification of fear, or even biting himself…

After waking up, he didn’t find it to be terrible, but in the dream, it was as agonizing as the torture of water dripping.

He was once again lost in a coma, his eyebrows tightly furrowed from the intense pain and all the confusion within him.

“World Code-13,” “Bonfire” Church’s only grand cathedral.

Sister Shana, clad in holy white cult robes with golden trim, radiated a pure light as she stood in front of the deep hall’s Bonfire, her eyes closed as if she was napping, her beautiful and fair face faintly visible in the glow of the flames.

Since the last time an employee had arrived from Earth, more than ten days had passed.

By the current understanding, two “Arrival Days” had gone by.

But on both occasions, no one came here.

The third one was coming soon…

However, there was no sign of anything getting better.

Thinking of this, Sister Shana’s brows furrowed slightly, and her inner anxiety deepened.

Through some indescribable inspiration, she could distinctly feel that something unimaginably horrific was happening on the other side—yet as for the specifics, especially Colin’s current status, she was almost entirely in the dark.

This made her even more uneasy…

On the other side, Little Red sat holding her knees in her room, biting her lips despondently, her swollen eyes red as she stared at the last White Rabbit milk candy.

Big Brother Colin had said that he would come after she finished the candy.

But now…

She was down to the last piece.

It seemed that finishing it would reveal the outcome.

But she dared not eat it, afraid of obtaining a result that she neither wanted nor could accept.

“You haven’t really eaten anything in days, have some food first…” Sister Shana’s hazy, shadowy clone came to her side and comforted her.

“Okay…” Little Red replied with a nasal sound but didn’t move, simply burying her head deeper.

Shana reached out and rubbed her head, about to speak, but Little Red suddenly looked up with a woeful face and tear-filled eyes:

“Sister Shana, if, if I finish this candy and Big Brother doesn’t appear, does that mean… he might never come?”

At these words, Shana fell silent for a few seconds, then reassuringly said, “Don’t think too much, it’s just…he’s been busy, there won’t be any problems.”

“Sister Shana, I don’t want to do these problems anymore, I want to gain power, I want to help him…”

Shana wasn’t sure how to respond; she wasn’t really adept at offering private comfort with insincere words, so she could only say:

“You need to become smarter to help him, and of course, if there’s a chance, I will teach you some things…”

Little Red had a sort of extraordinary talent related to biological knowledge and the methods of esoteric studies.

She could easily grasp the essence of some of those things…

It seemed related to the special trait inherent in her being.

But, that trait in her wasn’t very stable, her emotions, once disturbed, could easily cause problems, making it risky to attempt.

Hearing Shana’s words, Little Red finally felt a bit better. Then, worry flickered in her eyes as she recalled some past attempts…

In certain statuses, she might even attack Big Brother!

This…made her fear herself.

“Don’t worry, it’s just a simple trial, don’t be afraid, if you can’t trust yourself, then trust me…” Shana rubbed her head again: “For now, you need to get your body in shape…”

Hearing this, Little Red nodded vigorously.

Not long after, under Shana’s comfort, Little Red finished eating and fell into a deep sleep.

“Have a good sleep.”

After speaking, Shana sat beside the bed, her hand stroking Little Red’s head, her legs swinging, as she hummed a light lullaby, waiting for the third Bonfire arrival time to come.

After a while had passed…

She thought this Bonfire would remain as silent as before.

But just then, the flames suddenly began to shake!

Wait, there’s another chapter.
