SCP Corporation: Contain Bonfire -
Chapter 730 - 730 525 Shanas Product._1
Chapter 730: Chapter 525 Shana’s Product._1 Chapter 730: Chapter 525 Shana’s Product._1 “Another disappointing three thousand plus points,”
Colin shook his head and sighed as he reviewed the content of the task settlement.
Although it was more than what a regular employee would get, it wasn’t even close to enough for upgrading and repairing the Golden Card.
However, he hadn’t actually done much on this descent project, so it wasn’t likely to include anything like draw tickets.
Therefore, he didn’t dwell too much on the issue.
Colin glanced at the time, it was probably a few seconds past three o’clock on Monday afternoon…
“Next up is the official trade with the company the day after tomorrow,”
He got up from the bed and looked at the sunlight streaming through the window nearby. He stroked his chin with his hand, pondering for a moment.
It seemed the officials had quite a lot to trade with the company this time…
He would have to see if he could get a slice of the pie, or to be more precise, what kind of slice.
“I need to gather some backup stored energy anyway. Some of the higher-level anomalies don’t have unique traits and don’t seem particularly suitable for making into items. Those could be used as material for burning…”
From what Colin knew, anomalies with traits could drop useful equipment, just like elite monsters.
But the ordinary anomalies gave nothing when slain…
Except they were suitable as carbon material.
Of course, this usually only happened with First Level Containment Subjects and below. Once it reached First Level, it became an embodiment of some kind of power, and regardless of strength, it was unlikely to lack traits.
After some thought, Colin took out his phone and sent a message to Xu Duojin, but got no response.
“Huh? Speaking of that mission on Never-Setting Sun Island, seems like I didn’t bring him back with me last time?”
Colin just remembered something and wondered how Xu Duojin was doing now.
Since that day, aside from a brief follow-up call, there hadn’t been much news.
Just as Colin was considering whether to ask Old Master Wu for updates, Xu Duojin responded.
He didn’t mention the events of that day but instead addressed Colin’s request.
“The kind you’re describing is usually something we choose to completely eradicate. It’s one of the rare things we can solve completely. If you need them, we’ll be sure to keep them for you in the future…”
Xu Duojin sent a message back indicating it wouldn’t be a problem.
After having seen how Colin could quickly kill a Second-order Containment Subject, he wasn’t worried about anything going wrong if Colin handled these things.
‘Why do I feel like the officials are kind of happy about me taking a “kickback”?’ Colin wondered but soon pieced together the reason with a clearer understanding of the workings behind this world—
Compared to him, the officials were certainly more eager to annihilate high-level, unruly Containment Subjects.
But it was a difficult task for them to handle on their own.
While Level 2 Containment Subjects could be destroyed, how to do so wasn’t simple…
It wasn’t a matter of just finding a pit and detonating a nuclear bomb to solve the issue.
Doing that might let them escape instead…
Every execution had to be dealt with by high-ranking officials one by one, sacrificing their own status and life to destroy the other party.
Since Colin needed them, they were all too happy to oblige.
Afterward, they exchanged a few more messages and upon settling the details, Colin ended the conversation.
He then naturally checked the parchment as he usually would…
Only three hours had passed in reality, and there were no major changes; it was just as it was before, but now there was a whole bunch of bragging about “Mole” employees from “World Code-13.”
“Next major expansion, I guess I’ll have to wait until I’m C Level, huh?”
Colin mused that by then, the choices should expand significantly.
He just wondered what kind of tests he would face at C Level…
“Speaking of which, that ‘Joyful Seven Days Farm’ mission seems to never be settled. Where did all those employees who vanished after clearing it go? Could they have been drafted into the Corps?”
Colin found it rather strange that there was no news at all.
After browsing the forum for a while longer and not finding any useful information, he opened the auction house to look for items that could heal injuries.
Although he wasn’t in dire need of them now, if there were any available at a reasonable price, he would definitely buy them.
He might not need them, but his territory could use them, especially since medical resources were scarce.
Unfortunately, he found none after browsing through the listings.
“It must have been cleared out by the officials; I can’t compete. Also, since the officials got involved, even those ‘psychological stability’ props that regular employees normally wouldn’t buy are all gone…”
Colin observed the auction house, now considerably emptier, noting that these props were now scarce.
Those had been the most common type before…
The reason was simple: while employees didn’t fear contamination from anomalies thanks to various company measures like injections, it was different for the officials. A large number of them had extremely unstable psychological conditions, and it was probably these people who were the main buyers of those props.
“I should sell some stuff too…”
After checking and finding nothing he wanted, Colin opened his Storage Room and looked at the over four hundred tiny golden beans the size of rice grains. Each bean bore strange, twisted-looking but actually straight patterns of light—
These were the little buffs that Shana had created over seven consecutive days and nights, taking breaks from fighting him, assisting with the construction in the territory, and tirelessly handcrafting each one.
