SCP Corporation: Contain Bonfire
Chapter 596 - 596 455

Chapter 596: 455 Chapter 596: 455 …

“What’s happening here?”

Colin, although most of his energy was still focused on dealing with “Hunger,” also had to fend off various enemies, so he could sense a powerful aura erupting ahead.

It seemed that the person who caused the eruption was the same one he had just swatted away.

He just didn’t know why it had suddenly erupted…

“He’s connecting with some dangerous entity… to achieve an effect similar to ‘God Descent.’

Shana glanced at the former Church believer and roughly figured out what he was trying to do.

As for the pain or whatever the believer was thinking about, she didn’t know, nor did she particularly care…

Even though some elders told her that he was an uncle with no blood relation to her.

But, she had no real memory of him.

After all, who would remember things so clearly from when they were two or three years old?

Especially since this “uncle” had been put on ice by the Church over a decade ago, no longer mentioned.

“‘God Descent’?”

Colin’s eyebrows twitched. This child was terrifyingly powerful and must not be left alive!

Ordinarily, he was not afraid of any “God Descent.”

But the situation was special now, showing signs of danger, and it was best to snuff it out as early as possible.

Immediately, his thoughts whirred into action and his immense embodiment also moved, launching a fist towards the figure erupting in a cosmic burst.

However, just as the fist was about to fall…

Some figures rushed out, wielding lightning, fierce winds, and many other magics, with the resolution to sacrifice themselves, they met the attack.

“Friend, I understand your determination, let me help you!”

“We won’t let you disrupt our hope!”

“The gods shall be liberated!”

“People are ignorant, but a thousand years from now, they will understand our efforts!”

“…”

In the massive collision, over a dozen figures shouting loudly were incinerated by flames.

Seeing this, the “War God” followers’ eyes split with rage, and their fighting spirit climbed even higher.

At this moment, as his armor finished congealing, his form, though still not as towering as the divine embodiment, was already sufficiently intimidating in presence.

“I will not let your efforts and sacrifices be in vain!”

The “War God” follower beckoned with his hand, and the mightiest longsword that seemed capable of slicing through everything in the world coalesced into his hand…

“I shall fight for the salvation of humankind, I shall liberate the gods, bring about the dawn, and drive out all Outer Gods, without leaving a single one!”

“Outer God’s Messenger, taste the wrath and counterattack of this world!”

The “War God” follower did not speak, but his powerful will loomed over heaven and earth as if it was tangible.

He had reached his ultimate limit, his condition a hundred or even a thousand times greater than ever before!

He took a step forward, his fighting spirit ablaze, like flames, swinging his great sword at the Outer God’s Messenger coveting this world.

“Charge with me!”

Hurtling forth as a streak of light, engulfed in an unstoppable momentum, the great sword came crashing down with a heavy blow.

The immense embodiment’s fist shattered upon impact.

He stormed through like a juggernaut, continuing to charge towards Colin’s chest.

At this moment, he—or rather, they—their target was no longer just the Outer God’s Messenger before them but also to cleave through the darkness clouding this world, to forge the path to a glorious future!

With the determination of humankind to never bow before unknown terror, even in the face of death!

“Damn it…” Some people stood far off, doubting whether Colin could withstand this decisive strike filled with resolution.

If the other side got there first, it wouldn’t be good.

But, some people stayed motionless as if they had received some message and were not in a hurry to move.

However…

At that very moment, the two sides finally collided directly.

“Bang!”

Colin first shielded Shana behind him, then suppressed the sensation of “Hunger” again, before generously deploying his various abilities.

“Tick, tick, tick…”

In the sound of invisible clock hands moving…

Colin’s strength gathered in his fist, between his index and middle finger, a bone spur hidden, and then he threw it out, sending the eight-meter-tall man in golden armor flying with a punch.

Directly inflicting severe injuries and rendering him semi-unconscious, embedded in the ground, his body convulsing ceaselessly.

The heavy great sword lay discarded to the side…

The actual energy-formed golden armor dimmed and dispersed.

“Damn it, just this? I really thought there was something lurking, gave me quite the fright.”

Colin couldn’t help but curse under his breath, feeling utterly shortchanged after all this trouble for such a meager result.

Wary of an accident, he had used many skills…

Only to find out after throwing a punch that despite stacking buffs for ages, all it did was make his voice louder and his physical form a bit more resilient, able to withstand his punch.

Everything else was below par…

In other words, he possessed a constitution that surpassed quite a number of Level 2 Containment Subjects but had no substance.

Now, recalling this guy’s rambling, Colin almost thought he had returned to Earth.

In his hometown, he had seen more than enough of these acts done supposedly for the world’s good but actually involved summoning evil deities.

Only, he hadn’t expected to find such a “specialty” outside of Earth.

“Isn’t your political commissar, the one who ‘guides your thoughts’, all one and the same person?”

Colin’s expression turned slightly odd.

“By the way, did I just sense that he has some… other ideas about you?” Colin communicated directly with Shana in the form of an “inspiration.”

Shana’s response was quick: “An uncle who is not related by blood, isn’t very familiar, and has gone astray.”

“Uncle?”

Was that punch too hard? Although Colin didn’t tap into his full power, he hadn’t really held back.

“No, the force used was still a bit light, and I didn’t hit any vital spots. He still might have a chance of surviving…”

“Uh…”

This comment seemed to suggest I should have aimed to kill.

Colin grumbled in his mind but the brief exchange didn’t last, and he didn’t have time to ponder.

Right after the “War God” follower was knocked out with a punch, the powerful beings worshipped by various Heretic Forces immediately intervened in the next moment’s battle…

They interfered with the scene through special “God-given” artifacts carried by some people around them.

Shadows spread rapidly from underground towards this place; a bronze door opened, out of which flowed a great volume of viscous liquids, as numerous eyes peered outward; a swath of clouds crackling with lightning…

Besides these, a large, mouth-ridden, dark blue hand also fell from high above.

Even amid the ever-growing “Fire God Embodiment,” Colin spotted the well-sought “Human Patchwork Monster.”

This creature was numerous and its power levels were getting close to that of a Level 2 Containment Subject.

“The real trouble is ‘Hunger’.”

As the thought crossed his mind, Colin saw the dark blue hand descending from the sky once again.

This guy finally chose not to hide anymore…

‘Pity, it’s just an intervention of power, the true body isn’t here; otherwise, it feels like we’ve almost met the conditions to summon the ‘Zoo’ Corps…’

With an inward sigh, Colin’s consciousness shifted, and countless bonfires exploded atop the “embodiment”…

Shattering all attacks from surrounding enemies.

“Crack.”

The dark blue hand with stone-like patterns landed, biting off half of the “Fire God Embodiment’s” head…

And then, the hand exploded.

“Flame Bearer’s grease flame, tastes good, doesn’t it?”

Colin sneered.

His power level wasn’t much stronger than most high-order containment subjects in form, but because of certain targeted skills, he had a natural advantage over such threats, which enabled him to repel them.

Then, after finally holding back the urge for “Hunger,” he took a deep breath.

The embodiment that had its half head bitten off became solid again…

And it continued to grow taller and larger, propping the sky with one hand, pushing heaven and earth apart with each inch it ascended.

“After letting you all fight for so long, it’s about time I took action.”

Colin stood at the chest of the embodiment, overlooking the crowd of enemies, and slowly extended his hand.

The fire’s intensity rapidly increased…

Even some high-order containment subjects began to grow wary, sensing the threat.

Ignoring their reactions, Colin gathered all his strength into his right hand, focusing on the “Revolver Reverser”—

“Sky Light Fall!”

An attack that seemed to tear through spatial dimensions flashed by.

Everyone was shocked, but soon enough, they noticed that the strike appeared not to target anyone in particular but aimed instead at a seemingly thin layer of dark blue misty barrier.

“Boom!”

A gap was torn open, and without a second thought, Colin scooped up Shana and bolted.

At the same time, he also dispelled the impressive but somewhat uncontrollable embodiment…
