Chapter 423: Chapter 384 The “Perfect Girl” from the Starry Skies_1 Chapter 423: Chapter 384 The “Perfect Girl” from the Starry Skies_1 The next day, 8 AM.

Colin had woken up after just five hours of sleep.

After a routine shower, which included brushing his teeth and washing his face, he slowly made his way downstairs and found a street food stall to have breakfast.

Even though he had a task coming up, he was not the same person he was a few months ago.

He wouldn’t get so nervous about a mission that he couldn’t eat; however, as he ate, Colin realized he was eating a bit too much…

Early in the morning, he had consumed five servings of steamed rice noodle rolls, attracting some odd looks from people at the other stalls.

One by one, they seemed surprised that someone who didn’t look particularly overweight could eat so much…

‘I must have been inadvertently influenced by “Hunger”; I need to control my appetite.’

Colin shook his head, took a deep breath, and suppressed the subtle desire to eat that bubbled up in his heart.

For him, eating a lot wasn’t a problem in itself; the problem with the act of “eating” was that it was liable to trigger some undesirable reactions in his body…

“With this thing inside, if I want to gain weight or something, I’ll probably have to be force-fed like a duck, with food pumped directly into my stomach, right?”

Colin murmured to himself, then got up to pay and leave.

Outside the food stall, Qin Chuan and others had been waiting for a while. Seeing him approach, they hurriedly opened the car door…

“Where did you learn that kind of service?”

Colin chuckled, not bothering with formalities and got straight into the car. Once everyone was on board, he continued:

“Any response from the neighboring district?”

Upon hearing Colin’s question, Qin Chuan shook his head, “No, they agreed to our intervention from outside the area, but they’re curious about how we knew about the anomaly there. They’ll probably have some questions when we meet.”

“Let them ask, as long as they’ve agreed to outside intervention, that’s all that matters.”

Colin didn’t much care and leaned back in his seat.

At that moment, seeing that the conversation between the two had ended, Hu Zheng spoke up, “Boss, are we bringing along those ‘Destiny Propeller’ personnel for this mission…”

“I’ll decide once I get there and assess how difficult the mission is.”

If the mission wasn’t from Bonfire Company but a general type of official mission, Colin wouldn’t mind bringing along the uninitiated, as official missions lacked the element of surprise and vexing hidden agendas typical of company tasks.

But for missions from the company, careful preparation was necessary.

“Alright.” Hu Zheng didn’t object, after all, with more bystanders, his “experience” would lessen…

Currently, their work consisted of missions within their jurisdiction and those assigned to Colin personally.

Under normal circumstances, missions assigned to Colin himself had the highest priority.

Jurisdictional missions were like weekly cleaning chores; when the time came, Colin would lead the team to sweep through them.

Looking at Colin pretending to nap with his eyes closed, Hu Zheng couldn’t help but inwardly shake his head in awe. Since following Mr. Colin, those difficult and often deadly missions that were but a common occurrence when they followed Fourth or Fifth Level Personnel seemed like a thing of the past…

With them, all they had to do was gain experience by training together, without the need to worry about any dangers.

About two hours later, the car exited the highway and drove into a secluded office building.

Soon, Colin found himself in a conference room, sitting across from the person responsible for the area—a man in his thirties, who looked somewhat unhealthy and pale…

His identity was that of a Fifth Level Official Personnel.

Besides him, there were two other Fifth Level Personnel in the office, though their specific ranks were slightly lower.

Once Colin was seated, the pale-faced man began, “We won’t waste words. Let’s get straight to the point, Mr. Colin. I want to know how you found out there would be a cultist ritual happening nearby?”

He had only received some intelligence the night before, and before they could prepare an operation, the people from the neighboring city had already called them.

This made him feel somewhat strange…

When questioned, Colin thought for a moment and replied, “Confidential.”

“Uh…” The Fifth Level Official Personnel did not expect to be stymied by the first question.

After thinking for a bit, he continued to inquire about how and when Colin received the information, including the source of the intelligence.

However, Colin answered every question with a calm and straightforward “confidential.”

He even seemed to have no intention of disclosing the mission personnel to them…

“This isn’t very conducive to cooperation, is it?” One of the deputies frowned and spoke up.

“Oh?”

Colin was taken aback, then said, “Oh, my apologies. I’m not here to seek cooperation; I’m here to do a job. If possible, give me someone familiar with the local situation, and I can start the mission.”

As he said this, he glanced at Qin Chuan, figuring this guy probably hadn’t explained the situation properly.

As for these people not recognizing him, Colin wasn’t surprised. His identity was only known to a very few inside the organization, and others who had interacted with him, even if they had seen his abilities, seemed to have had their memories handled afterward…

It could be said that Old Master Wu’s approach to him was to assist him as much as possible without interfering too much with him personally.

“That’s a group of extremely vicious cultists, comrade; aren’t you being a bit too casual?” The other deputy spoke out sternly.

‘Ah, well, I’m being serious enough, aren’t I? For an F Level mission, I even went to the trouble of repairing a few pieces of my usual equipment…’

Colin muttered in his mind without getting annoyed and casually reached into his pocket.
