Chapter 298: Chapter 296: So You’re the Kid Named Colin, Huh!_1 Chapter 298: Chapter 296: So You’re the Kid Named Colin, Huh!_1 “Boom!”
Yet another colossal collision occurred, and Colin was sent flying by a tentacle from Omar, although the hit nearly shattered his skeleton. But Omar did not get off easy either.
For as Colin was being struck, he managed to simultaneously stab the other’s tentacle with a bone spur, making it howl in pain.
This time, however, bolstered by an unknown and terrifying power, he was not incapacitated by pain as before.
“Cough cough…”
After being flung backwards for more than ten meters in the water, Colin barely stabilized himself and then couldn’t help but vomit a mouthful of blood.
After using various artifacts in succession, his bodily functions had obviously sustained damage.
Suffering from the effects of numerous negative conditions, he felt time speed up and slow down unpredictably. His internal organs were being compressed by repulsion, and prolonged handling of the bone spur had resulted in uncomfortable edema…
If the standoff continued like this, he estimated that it wouldn’t be long before he died violently.
And the anticipated demon had yet to arrive…
“Sigh…”
Colin rubbed his stomach, feeling the discomfort of his organs being squeezed. Had his physique not been strong enough, his stomach might have exploded like fireworks…
But if the demon did not come, persisting further would be meaningless.
“It seems, I have to go all out.”
Colin spat out another mouthful of blood, took off his ring, and threw it forcefully behind him. After issuing a “”flee”” command to “Yukionna”, he closed his eyes.
Omar, watching with a suspicious look, did not dare to approach rashly, instead opting to attack from a distance as a precaution.
Unfortunately for Omar, such tentative attacks were of little significance to Colin…
“What’s the matter with this person?”
Omar could sense that the enemy before him was undergoing some kind of change, with a mysterious entity seemingly reviving rapidly within.
Seconds later, Colin’s gaze abruptly opened, his eyes instantly transforming into vertical pupils. A violent and tyrannical mood spread, yet more horrifying to Omar than this tyrannical aura was the strangeness hidden within it.
Though faint, the scent alone stirred an indescribable sense of hunger within him…
“‘Hunger’…”
Suddenly, a voice echoed in his mind—the voice of the great entity from the “Crimson Abyss”!
In a sense, he had received a “divine prophecy”!
However, what unsettled Omar was the hint of fear shaking within this “prophecy,” the cause of this trembling—
Impossible! How could the grand being of the “Crimson Abyss” feel fear!
Omar couldn’t believe it, unable to accept such a thing. But at this moment, as he saw Colin raise his hand, he felt an alarming premonition.
If this battle continued, even the grand being that dwelled in the “Crimson Abyss” might not be able to save him!
However, just as he entertained the idea of retreating and became distracted, he suddenly realized that Colin had disappeared.
The extremely terrifying presence had vanished along with him…
“Gone, what’s going on?”
Omar’s large mass with a head on top showed a bewildered look, but then, seemingly coming to some realization, countless tentacles grew from his body, wrapping layer upon layer over the “back” position.
Some tentacles underwent a change similar to petrification, to prevent being stabbed directly into the body later on…
However, the expected attack from behind didn’t come; instead, a suffocating pressure suddenly assailed him from the front.
In the blink of an eye, Omar saw a creature towering before him, with skin red as blood, bat-like wings on its back, and a giant battle ax in hand, breaking through the waves and charging.
“So you’re Colin, huh! You dare try to deceive me into thinking you’re Omar? Do you think I’m that easy to fool?!”
The Lesser Bloodthirsty Demon Lord angrily cleaved through the tentacles in front, slashing into the massive fleshy orb, severing countless tendrils and carving out a massive wound on its body, causing an explosion of blood and spores to splatter everywhere.
But these things didn’t affect the demon too greatly; its wings flapped behind it, and it continued to hack wildly at the “Colin” in front of it.
Omar couldn’t understand a thing that this bizarre creature, which bore a hint of divinity in its essence, was shouting. He took it for yet another helper summoned by the intruder, and so he flailed his many tentacles and fought tooth and nail against it.
…
“At least they’ve started fighting.”
Colin felt the ebb and flow of the battle behind him and let out a sigh of relief. At the critical moment, his sincerity had finally reached the demon in the subspace.
This time, the contract he summoned was written with some of Omar’s blood that had stained him before.
This way, unless the newcomer was of the intelligent type, it would probably rush into battle with Omar head-on upon arrival.
Now, the situation was indeed as he had expected—the demon appeared and immediately charged towards its target…
“Although I used the original to blow up one last time… its combat power is indeed strong. As soon as it appeared, it could fight head-on against the great pirate, who was empowered with a part of the power from a higher-tier containment subject, without falling behind. And with a demon’s extraordinarily strong life force, Omar is quite fortunate.”
Feeling the aftershocks of the fight behind him, Colin reflected internally. The moment the demon’s presence emerged, he promptly suppressed the fury within him, then held his breath and turned invisible.
Then, within seconds, the demon arrived on the battlefield, playing out a surprising rescue.
At this moment, while the two sides were engaged in combat, Colin retrieved the “Yukionna” ring and slipped it back onto his middle finger.
A cool, icy breath radiated from the ring, and the information it contained caused Colin’s expression to stiffen:
“If you can’t talk, then keep quiet! What do you mean you thought I was done for, already pondering who to cling to next, talking like you’re a widow…
“Hurry up and float me back, I need to rest for a bit.”
As he spoke, he took out a “Colorless Crystal” to enhance his status while suppressing the “Hunger” within that had stirred from its slumber and was starting to get active.
Although the arrival of the “demon” meant he no longer had to fight desperately, he had briefly attempted to awaken that power.
Even if he hadn’t fully awakened it, it had stirred somewhat, so he had to suppress it…
After resting for quite a while, Colin managed to suppress the wave of hunger within him.
“Had I known this guy was coming, I would have held on a bit longer.”
Feeling the faint hunger still inside him, Colin sighed inwardly and mentally noted the demon’s tardiness in his mental notebook.
About ten minutes later, he returned to the submarine’s location.
Surveying the chaotic battlefield before him, Colin received both good and bad news.
The good news was that several company employees had survived until his return, and all the contaminating spores on the submarine had been dealt with. Now only some deeply parasitized and infected pirates remained.
The bad news was that “Little Dwarf” Peter was dead, his body covered with blood-red tentacles and chopped into several pieces. Furthermore, the front of the “Deep Sea Unicorn Whale” had been slashed open by the demon with a ten-meter-long gash, as if it had undergone a cesarean section—apparently, it wouldn’t be repairable for some time.
This also meant that the submarine’s speed was significantly reduced, and they couldn’t immediately escape.
