Chapter 294: Chapter 292: Thrilling Duo Act_1 Chapter 294: Chapter 292: Thrilling Duo Act_1 “You… ah!!”
Upon seeing that guy, Omar very much wanted to tear the other apart, yet before he could make a move, Colin forcefully stirred with his hand holding the Bone Spur, promptly shutting the other’s mouth, leaving him only capable of letting out a painful scream.
That piercing scream spread, causing pirates in the distance to feel their hearts tremble…
“What has he encountered?”
They couldn’t imagine what exactly the man behind this had done to make Omar scream so loudly.
You should know, this was a top-ranked sea pirate, placed second, who would not necessarily make a sound even if he really couldn’t win and was killed, but now he was wailing like a child, horribly embarrassing.
The dozens of sturdy tentacles extending from under him were all taut and stiff, and continuously swelling.
It seemed as if some sort of bizarre liquid was being rapidly forced into his body…
“Good, he’s screaming loudly, very spirited!”
Seeing the effect still outstanding, a slight smile crossed Colin’s lips. Currently, unless it was against a Level 1 Containment Subject or any entity above that standard of the Bonfire Company, the Bone Spur could achieve very good results.
And the thing in front of him, Colin estimated to have a fighting power close to an Eighth Level Personnel’s, and such personnel did not yet have the immunity to such items; once truly stabbed, they would be left either dead or disabled.
However, just as he was prepared to thrust the Bone Spur deeper, a vision suddenly appeared in his mind:
Under the wide robes of the formidable sea pirate in front of him, hundreds of tentacle tips, like arrows, burst out, his body directly perforated into a honeycomb by these eerie attacks…
In the face of such assault, he still wasn’t dead, but from those piercing tips, murky black liquid surged forth.
Suddenly…
The solo screaming turned into a terrifying duet, back and forth, a relentless chorus…
“You think you can drag me down too? Fat chance!”
With the passive Talent, “Deadly Insight,” any head-on attack, unless two came one after the other at the same time, wouldn’t catch Colin off guard.
Any single sneak attack with an interval of more than three seconds didn’t mean much to him…
After acquiring the deadly information, Colin immediately ceased his attack, stepped on the pirate’s back, forcefully pulled out the Bone Spur, and quickly left the scene.
And at that moment, a multitude of blood-red spikes burst outwards through the black robe as though a hedgehog exploded into shooting spines.
Massive amounts of foul-smelling black pus were ejected from those tentacles, seemingly in an effort to expel the toxins from the body…
“Some quality stuff here, the physique is almost like that of the ‘Deep Sea Messenger’.”
Colin was amazed; the last one who had not died after being jabbed was the “Deep Sea Messenger” from the Seventh Box Garden World, though that one had only been nicked slightly.
This time, it had been thrust halfway in; Colin judged by the feeling in his hand that it probably reached the kidneys.
Unexpectedly, under such circumstances, this guy could still avoid death, even attempting to expel the toxins and return to normal by his unique physiological structure.
“Worthy of being the undisputed number two pirate of the Deep Sea, indeed you have some stuff. But I’m not just going to sit here and let you recover.”
As his thought flashed, Colin raised his hand with the palm facing the other, his five fingers suddenly clenched tightly.
Boom!
Surging flames erupted once again, directly engulfing the formidable sea pirate within.
Then, he pulled out his pistol again and aimed at the pirate’s real body, pulling the trigger.
Under the effect of the “Rapid Fire” gun, in just one second, seventeen bullets were fired out, passing straight through the flames to strike the true body of that sea pirate.
Omar, tumbling and screaming in the flames, didn’t even notice these bullets.
Compared to the indescribable terrible pain on his body, the damage from these bullets was nothing more than a tickle…
However, when thirty-three bullets hit him, the situation was likely to be very different.
The Bone Spur, combined with the “Lethal” effect, really could cause instant death.
“One more volley should do it.”
Colin stood aside, quickly reloading the bullets. He had not been thoroughly ruthless before, but now that all pretenses were dropped, he would not just stand by.
But, just when the salvo of sixteen bullets was about to hit the target, his heart suddenly skipped a beat.
An invisible surge of air burst forth in front of that figure…
The bullets flying in mid-air all fell to the ground.
Even the flames were directly scattered by some terrifying aura.
And at the center of everything, Omar lay limp on the ground, his body twitching occasionally and continuously oozing black pus, looking like a broken toy…
His breath was rapidly fading, yet a majestic will was reviving within him.
“Damn it, exploiting cheats and calling in a substitute player, you’ve got a Second Order phase, haven’t you?”
Feeling the ever-increasing oppression, Colin realized that this might indeed be the power of the “Master” from the “Crimson Abyss” descending upon him, as the other had mentioned.
It was that strange creature they had become aware of simply because they used the “Book of Fate: Fragment,” without even having actual contact with it.
With his rich experience of breaking into various dangerous realms during this period, Colin immediately discerned that the danger level of this “Master” would not be lower than a “Level 1 Containment Subject.”
That level was equivalent to the “Formless Mother,” at the very least the “Father of the Deep Sea” stripped of divinity.
“Gotta bail!”
Colin took a deep breath, faced reality, and without a second thought, turned around and raced away.
The risk of disrupting the descent ceremony seemed considerable, and he even faintly felt it might be a trap; there was no need to take this risk anymore…
By his estimation, in a quick scenario, it would take ten minutes, or half an hour at most, until that thing arrived. If they were still on the scene by then, they wouldn’t be far from complete annihilation.
So, they had to escape this damned place before all this happened, lest they get stuck in the mire and be unable to get away when the time came.
At this moment, the harbor area was littered with corpses killed by an unknown AOE attack, most of them meeting a ghastly end.
From a distance, some pirates saw Colin leaving, somewhat perplexed.
In their view, Colin had eliminated Omar, effectively promoting himself to the second, no, even the chance to contend for the first amongst the seven great pirates.
Yet in such circumstances, he was giving up the spoils of battle and trying to leave?
Is he out of his mind?
Some pirates eyed the gigantic “corpse” of Omar amidst the numerous other bodies, a greedy glint appearing in their eyes. Hesitating for a moment, they swooped down towards the dead to scavenge the spoils of war, embarking on a spree of “free scavenging.”
All kinds of shoving, cursing, and bloody fights for loot ensued after Colin left…
They weren’t strong enough to sense the entity descending behind the scenes.
Another group of pirates looked at the limp body on the ground and seemed to realize something, quickly starting to flee.
They too sensed something was amiss, but they didn’t believe that after killing Omar, he would leave in such a hurry unless something was about to happen!
Instead of picking up some trash, it’s better to escape and avoid the risks!
Meanwhile, Colin quickly caught up with “Surfing for Pigs” and others. Upon his arrival, he saw these employees had already met up with the Arsonist and others but were being attacked by strong fighters from the major pirates’ crew.
The most eerie among them was a gigantic strawman covered in bloodstains, wielding a scythe.
The strawman’s head was empty, with several leech-like flesh tubes wriggling…
Every time it swung its scythe, the group was forced to retreat, fearing any contact with it, and even the pirates nearby didn’t want to get too close to the strawman…
Because in addition to killing enemies, it could also flip open an ally’s skull and directly suck out their brain matter.
Even if it didn’t drink an ally’s brains, just getting too close could lead to cursed contamination, resulting in troublesome ailments.
When Colin arrived, the giant strawman immediately shifted its target, its hollow eye sockets fixing directly on him, and it charged at him, scythe swinging.
“Careful! If you get touched by this thing, you’ll be afflicted with diseases and such!” Dog Brother shouted a warning upon seeing this.
