Chapter 120: Chapter 120 The Mores Degenerate Day by Day…_1 Chapter 120: Chapter 120 The Mores Degenerate Day by Day…_1 A cold breath emanated from the ring, gradually calming his mind, enabling him to resist the script arranged by the “Narrator”.

“Thankfully, the arrangements of this thing can be fought against, otherwise it would really be troublesome…”

Colin sighed with relief.

So far, he felt that the most challenging aspect of this eerie place was not the willpower, but the resistance to social death…

After all, if the things mentioned above actually happened in reality, they would indeed lead to social death.

“Is this how they train willpower?”

Colin couldn’t understand; he had been informed that this “Passionate Paradise” was initially created by Bonfire Company to cultivate something to counter a particular type of anomaly, but after entering, he had faced a few crises, yet he didn’t feel significantly trained…

Could it be because he hadn’t stayed long enough?

But without thinking too much, Colin’s eyelid suddenly twitched, and he saw a line of information appear before him.

[The bus will soon arrive at Maple Leaf School, where you and a companion girl will get off together and return to class, starting this afternoon’s lessons.]

[You vaguely remember that today is Friday, and the three afternoon classes are mathematics, physics, and politics.]

[Once today’s classes are over, tomorrow will be the weekend, and thinking of this, a wave of joy rises inside you…]

Phew, lucky they didn’t concoct some weird stuff this time…

Seeing that the “Narrator” didn’t mess around for once, Colin instantly relaxed.

Then he took a closer look at the second sentence…

“Math, physics, politics, what’s the content for high school again, hiss, wait, what grade am I? It keeps hinting that I’m a high school student, but it never specifies which year…”

Colin’s brows knitted instantly, sensing something was amiss.

This season, oh, that’s not right, how do you say it, semester, he actually didn’t know which grade he was in, nor did he know if it was the first or second semester.

And predictably, according to the script of “Passionate Paradise”, there was a high chance he would be put on the spot during class.

This was a common scenario in many stories, and Colin didn’t believe that the “Narrator” who liked to play with melodrama would pass up this plot device…

However, if he were called upon and couldn’t answer the question…

He might well be dragged into the office to see if his development was normal.

But at this point, Colin noticed that the girl sitting on the bus seat seemed to be holding a small bag filled with books, which apparently were textbooks.

After a moment’s thought, Colin tried to ask, “Are those… textbooks you’re carrying?”

“No,” said the girl with glasses, shaking her head and volunteering, “Some study materials, extracurricular readings…”

“Study materials? Do you have any for math or physics? Oh, others are fine too, I can’t seem to recall some things clearly.”

Colin’s main goal was to determine which year he was in.

Startled by Colin’s request, she hesitated and then clumsily opened the small bag, “Yes, there’s one, there’s a book on interpretation outside of class, Colin, just wait, I’ll find it for you…”

In no time, she handed him a thick book.

[The small interaction secretly delighted her, and although she seemed unmoved on the surface, she was very happy inside that she could help you…]

There it was again, messing with the love stories… Colin glanced at it, didn’t see any danger, and so he didn’t think much of it.

Afterward, he took the supplemental reading book and flipped through it casually.

He quickly understood the current semester – second year of high school, second half.

Looking at the mathematical terms in the table of contents, Colin just felt a headache coming on; it had been years since he graduated from high school, who the hell could remember all that stuff?

And the most important thing was, his science grades had never been that great.

Colin pursed his lips, took a cursory glance in desperation, hoping to remember something, anything, just to scrape by for a while longer.

But…

Sometimes life can be fudged, language can be fudged, but mathematics can’t be, because if you don’t know math, you really don’t know it…

“Colin, is there anything you don’t understand? You can tell me, I… Don’t judge by my looks, I’m actually quite confident in the combined sciences…”

Seeing Colin’s troubled expression, the girl with glasses mustered the courage to speak.

She seemed to “recall” that Colin’s scores were decent in the arts, but his science grades weren’t too good…

Having said that, she added, “If, if you need it, I can teach you.”

“Uh, I shouldn’t need it for now…”

Colin sighed inwardly, already contemplating what strategy to use when “the teacher” pulled him into the office later.

If he wanted to guess what the teacher would ask, the best option would be to use the “Book of Fate: Fragment”.

But…

Based on the information he had so far, using that thing would probably only make matters worse.

Having glanced through a few pages, Colin resigned himself to returning the book.

At that moment, the bus pulled up to the stop.

Outside the bus window, it was possible to see quite a few students dressed in black uniform suits, and in the direction where these students were heading, sprawled out like a slumbering giant beast, was the school.

“We’re here.”

Colin announced, then alighted from the bus, with his female classmate following him out.

As soon as he stepped off, he saw, not far away, a couple kissing in an alley by the roadside.

“Morals decline, public displays of lewdness…”

Colin shook his head slightly. Seeing their behavior, he couldn’t help but reminisce about his real high school days, when he, too, had seen a couple of high schoolers kissing on the street.

He didn’t linger, shifting his gaze away, fearful that looking any longer might trigger trouble.

Who knows whether the “Narrator” would suddenly have a brain fart and saddle him with a new identity, forcing him to barge in and enact some juvenile drama in front of them…

As for the moral bottom line of the “Narrator”, it was best not to look too much.

The girl with glasses who was following him peeked in the direction of his gaze, let out a little “yah”, quickly averted her eyes, then stole another glance at Colin, her face somewhat flushed, seemingly lost in thought.

However, just when Colin thought he had managed to sidestep one issue, the “Narrator” spoke up again.

[At this moment, across the street, outside the school, some idle loafers were eating, their eyes lighting up the moment they saw the girl by your side…]

Colin’s vision darkened.

Following the Narrator’s intrusion, he saw a few boys with bleached hair start walking over to them.

The girl with glasses also noticed the people across the street, and her expression changed.

With so many good-looking people around, they just have to look at the one next to me, forcing the plot, huh!

Colin cursed inwardly.

And from inside the ring, “Yukionna” offered a tip…
