Chapter 116 - 116 116 Sister Says Downstairs Is Dangerous_1
Chapter 116: Chapter 116: Sister Says Downstairs Is Dangerous_1 Chapter 116: Chapter 116: Sister Says Downstairs Is Dangerous_1 Colin felt as if a bloody character had appeared above his head.
“Danger”!
“Damn it, what’s going on, which one is the right one…”
Colin cursed inwardly, feeling a chill running up his spine, and subconsciously wanted to turn his head. The whispered voice was identical to the one downstairs, it was also “sister’s” voice.
Obviously, the one who had just knocked on the door must be the one who was speaking…
But Colin couldn’t determine which one was real; he had a premonition that picking the wrong one would definitely be a fatal question.
“My instinct tells me that the one downstairs is real, and this one on the second floor is fake! After all, the Narrator’s initial request was to go eat with the one downstairs, anyway, no matter what, I must not turn back…”
Colin’s scalp tightened, forcibly stopping the thought of turning his head.
At this moment, although he hadn’t turned his head, he could “sense” an image in his mind: a petite figure huddled in the corner of the hallway, seemingly trembling as it stared at him, its pitch-black gaze without any whites, as tangible as reality.
He didn’t know exactly what that thing was, but it seemed to be waiting for him to look at it, and once he looked at it…
Colin suspected that would directly trigger some kind of fatal attack, turning his head would be to “go”.
But…
Was the one calling him to eat downstairs really real?
Colin couldn’t be sure, and he paused at the doorway for a few seconds, motionless.
What troubled him the most was that he had just responded to the other party, not knowing if that would cause trouble.
Just then, some information suddenly appeared before his eyes…
[You heard your sister’s frightened voice. Imagining your sister scared and anxious, as a sister-complex person, you cannot sit idly by. You immediately want to turn your head, to comfort your cute and innocent sister, telling her not to be afraid of anything when you are here…]
When he saw this message, Colin’s eyelid twitched, don’t make decisions for me!
However, before he could think further, this line of text seemed to have a strange magic, arousing in him a strong protective desire to turn around and protect his “sister”, unwilling to see her suffer the slightest grievance…
To make everything proceed according to the “script”.
“Get lost…”
Colin resisted this inexplicable influence, his whole body tensing up, trembling in place as if he was combating something.
If he was uncertain before about what would happen if he turned his head, now he was sure that turning many heads would not result in anything good…
It was at this time of indecision that a piercing pain shot through his right middle finger, as if a cat had bitten him.
This snapped him back to reality, freeing him from the demonic influence of the text…
“Go downstairs…”
Colin interpreted Yukionna’s message and immediately headed toward the stairs.
And just as he made his decision, the entire second floor instantly became dark, and from behind came a voice repeatedly murmuring in a low tone—
“Brother, don’t go down, don’t leave me!”
“Brother, do you not want me anymore?”
“Have you gone mad?! Brother, have you gone mad?! It’s dangerous down there!”
“Stop! Quick, stop! I don’t want you to die!”
“Brother, don’t trust the monster downstairs, follow me, let’s be together forever, I can satisfy all your wishes, any wish…”
“Brother, only I truly care for you, melt into me…”
The monster behind him, using “sister’s” voice, issued repeated, pleading sounds, trying to stop Colin’s footsteps.
But even so, seeing that Colin still did not stop, that voice gradually turned to frenzy.
“Don’t go!”
“Don’t you dare walk away!”
“Stop right now, or I’ll kill you!”
His “sister” let out one piercing scream after another. The corridor grew increasingly heavy with a putrid smell in the air, and mold rapidly spread across the walls. The world in front of him was aging swiftly, and the wooden floorboards creaked under the stress as if they couldn’t bear his weight.
This space, once filled with warmth, seemed to be revealing its true nature…
Colin heard footsteps chasing after him more than once, even feeling something filthy dragging on the hem of his clothes, trying to force him to stop.
If it weren’t for the reminder from “Yukionna,” he would have turned around several times already, exclaiming “Mighty Heavenly Dragon” in a loud voice.
However, if he had done so, he probably would have found himself in even greater trouble…
“What can be confirmed now is that although the terrifying things in ‘Passionate Paradise’ are of high rank, they all must follow the rules, just like NPCs,” he thought.
“I have no idea what the thing behind me is, but the pattern should be: if I don’t turn around or respond, nothing will happen…”
Colin ignored the changes in front of him and the odd movements by his side, step by step, he walked toward the staircase.
At this moment, the corridor on the second floor seemed as if it had been stretched, Colin’s progress was slow, but after a while, he finally reached the top of the stairs.
And just then, all the abnormalities suddenly disappeared.
The sweet, yet chilling, calls of “brother” that had been echoing in his ears finally stopped.
[You didn’t find anything strange. You suspect that you have just experienced a hallucination upon waking from a nap. Your sister is clearly downstairs, so how could she be upstairs? Shaking your head, you don’t take these events to heart…]
[——Unfortunately, such a mundane course of events takes away some of the necessary conflict and tension from the story.]
“Damn it…”
Colin got a bit irritated at the “Narrator” written on his retina. If it weren’t for Yukionna raising a hand, he almost looked back.
Even if he didn’t look back, it wouldn’t be so easy to break free; he would have needed to resort to some measures.
Then after that…
Other things might become completely disrupted, turning things extremely troublesome.
“Is this what that person meant about being wary of the Narrator? It seems to have some kind of bewitching power, but it’s still within the range of resistance. More importantly, it doesn’t seem to care much about the ring in my hand. Can it not perceive it, or does it not care enough to bother with it?”
As Colin pondered, he continued down the stairs.
Halfway through, he seemed to remember something, took out a piece of gauze from his pocket, and wrapped the ring in it, making a simple disguise.
After that, he finally felt safe to walk downstairs and saw his real “sister,” described by the Narrator, below.
She sat behind a table, dressed in her middle school uniform with a dress, and draped in an apron she hadn’t had time to take off from cooking. Her hair was tied into a ponytail, draped over one shoulder. Even with her petite form, youthful face, and innocent appearance, she seemed to exude a gentle and capable charm.
“Sis, that hairstyle can be dangerous…”
Colin mumbled to himself internally and then turned his gaze to the table.
On the table were ready dishes: stir-fried tomato and eggs, blanched hollow vegetables, and stir-fried beef – a meal that had both meat and vegetables.
“I got your meal ready there for you, brother. What took you so long to come down… oh, your hand, what happened?”
His sister was taking off her apron while speaking, and then quickly noticed the gauze on Colin’s right hand, showing concern.
