After two days, coincidentally on the weekend, Shen Weiyi didn’t go to the company; however, she received a call from Xiao Yao, mentioning that President Lu from Yunxin Technology had called.

He wanted to invite her to dinner.

After some thought, Shen Weiyi decided to accept the invitation.

The meeting place was set at a private club in City C.

"I’ll go with you!" Xiao Yao insisted, concerned about her going alone, and suggested accompanying her over the phone.

When Shen Weiyi thought of the way President Lu had looked at her that day, she agreed.

Xiao Yao drove to pick her up; upon arriving at the club, Shen Weiyi told him to stay in the car and to call her if anything happened, and if not, there was no need for him to show up.

Shen Weiyi entered the club and told the server the room number, and then someone led her there.

"Miss Shen, please take a seat." There was only President Lu in the private room; he smiled and greeted her as he saw her.

He even poured her a cup of tea himself.

"President Lu, you are too kind," Shen Weiyi said as she sat down opposite him.

President Lu slowly lifted the teacup in front of him and took a sip before speaking unhurriedly, "Miss Shen, is there nothing you’d like to say to me?"

"I don’t understand what you mean, President Lu?" Shen Weiyi met his gaze, her face calm.

President Lu slightly raised the corner of his eyes, sizing her up as he spoke, "I didn’t receive a call from the younger Mr. Shen yesterday."

Shen Weiyi responded, "Is that so? Perhaps my dad was busy and forgot."

Suddenly, President Lu set down his teacup on the table with a dull thud, his gaze towards Shen Weiyi sharpened, "Miss Shen, you wouldn’t be playing games with me, would you?"

"Why would I do that?" Shen Weiyi calmly denied, "You have been a business partner with Shen Technology for so many years and an old friend of my dad’s. I wouldn’t dare play games with you, President Lu!"

"Since that is the case, could Miss Shen please call the younger Mr. Shen again? I presume he isn’t conveniently drunk again?"

"What do you mean by this, President Lu? Are you saying you don’t trust me?" Shen Weiyi frowned, her tone firm yet respectful.

"I am merely concerned about the younger Mr. Shen’s safety, and I hope Miss Shen can give me an honest answer," he said, his gaze intently fixed on her, hoping to discern something from her expression.

However, Shen Weiyi was more composed than he expected, "The truth is my dad is still abroad, delayed by some matters. If President Lu truly doesn’t believe me, there’s nothing I can do."

"It’s not that I don’t trust you, Miss Shen, but that I am worried about our future collaboration," President Lu explained.

"President Lu, rest assured, the partnership is with Shen Technology. As long as the company stands, our collaboration won’t be affected," Shen Weiyi reassured.

"I value the collaboration because of the face of the younger Mr. Shen, and if anything were to happen to him, who knows whether this cooperation could continue,"

"So, is President Lu here to discuss termination of the contract?" Shen Weiyi inquired.

"That’s not it. I just think that you, Miss Shen, are too young and probably unaware of the complexities of the business world. I’ve heard that you are part of the Shen Group, and compared to you, I’d prefer a partnership with the Shen Group."

"So, what are you suggesting, President Lu?"

"I think that Shen Technology could consider merging under the Shen Group. With the Shen Group as a guarantor, I wouldn’t have to worry about future cooperation facing issues."

No wonder Second Uncle Shen appeared with him; this had been their plan all along.

They thought they could control her this way, but they were mistaken!
