"Vice President Shen, you’re too kind!" The man smiled, his scrutinizing gaze landing on Shen Weiyi.

Upon seeing Shen Weiyi’s appearance, a flash of amazement crossed his eyes, followed by a slight upturn of his lips and a flicker of frivolity in his eyes, "I didn’t expect Mr. Shen to have such a beautiful daughter. Indeed..."

His words faded into a mumble, not entirely clear but there was an unmistakably ambiguous and flirtatious undertone.

Especially his gaze, which was somehow discomforting.

Shen Weiyi slightly furrowed her brows, her impression of him plunging dramatically.

"She’s still a young girl, ignorant of many things. We’ll have to rely on your guidance and care in the future, President Lu," Second Uncle Shen said cheerily, seemingly oblivious to the other’s inappropriate remarks.

The latter’s gaze became even more brazen, "Vice President Shen, you’re too modest. As the saying goes, a tiger does not father a dog of a daughter. Younger Mr. Shen is so capable, his daughter surely won’t lag far behind him."

Second Uncle Shen glanced in Shen Weiyi’s direction and said, "President Lu, you’re flattering her too much, she still has a long way to go."

"What brings President Lu here today?" Shen Weiyi cut straight through their pleasantries.

Second Uncle Shen’s face showed a trace of displeasure at being interrupted, but the man known as President Lu narrowed his eyes with a smile, "The Shen Family and Yunxin have collaborated for many years, and I’ve been good friends with Younger Mr. Shen as well. I heard a couple of days ago that there was an incident with the flight he took, so I came specially to see how he was."

Indeed, whispers about the missing plane had started to spread on the second day, but everyone was an old fox, and no one took rash actions before the exact news was confirmed.

With nearly a week passing, the plane was likely lost for good, and the fact that Shen Juanzhi hadn’t appeared at the Shen Family’s business since the plane went missing indicated the rumors were probably true.

Shen Weiyi, unmoved, said, "To be honest with you, my dad did purchase a ticket for that flight, but due to a last-minute issue, he didn’t board."
