Chapter 287: Chapter 287: Didn’t You Two Break Up?

"Um, it’s not work-related, you can only see this person at home," Shen Weiyi said.

It’s not work-related, so it must be personal?

Shen Juanzhi looked at her with suspicion.

Shen Weiyi: "Um, my boyfriend came to visit, and he would like to formally meet you. I had planned to give you a heads-up earlier, but you got back so late last night that I didn’t get the chance. Do you want to meet him?"

"Boyfriend?" Shen Juanzhi narrowed his eyes.

Since when did that girl get a new boyfriend? He had no idea.

Shen Weiyi heard the displeasure in his voice. She couldn’t help but silently mourn for the guy in her heart, thinking that meeting her father, Mr. Shen, right after he woke up might not go too smoothly.

However, if that guy could easily handle his studies and teachers, it was just uncertain whether he could handle his girlfriend’s old father.

Shen Weiyi nodded at him: "He’s downstairs; do you want to freshen up first?"

Shen Juanzhi stood still, "When did you start dating this boyfriend?" No wonder that girl had been running around so much recently; he knew something was off.

Indeed, Old Father Shen’s premonitions were never wrong.

Shen Weiyi: "It’s been over a year now, I guess."

Shen Juanzhi’s face darkened instantly upon hearing this: "Is it that same guy from before?"

Even though he didn’t meddle in that girl’s emotional affairs, if someone made her unhappy, he, as an old father, would not just stand by.

He had sent someone to investigate that guy before, thinking he was reliable, only for him to leave that girl behind and go abroad. Did his daughter Shen Juanzhi mean less to this guy than an exchange program overseas?

"Yeah, didn’t you always want to meet him? So here I am, bringing him back to you."

Shen Weiyi was gauging his expression, and once again she felt nervous for Sheng Ting; she had a feeling the meeting wouldn’t go smoothly.

"Weren’t you two broken up?" asked Shen Juanzhi with a stern face.

"We didn’t break up; he just went abroad for an exchange," Shen Weiyi said, feeling somewhat unsure of herself. In fact, she had only recently found out they had not broken up.

"Heh!" Shen Juanzhi scoffed. Did he not have experience with relationships?

Over the years, he had been involved with countless women, seen all types of people, and experienced everything. Would he not know whether that girl had broken up or not?

"It was just a misunderstanding. Anyway, it’s still the same person; if you don’t want to see him, I’ll tell him to leave," Shen Weiyi said calmly, looking at her old father and shrugging.

Shen Juanzhi frowned, "Who said I wouldn’t meet him? Tell him to wait."

Shen Weiyi couldn’t help but smile and said, "Got it, then hurry up." Finishing her sentence, she turned and walked downstairs first.

Watching that girl’s eager figure, Old Father Shen couldn’t help but snort.

Sheng Ting, seeing only her come down from upstairs, couldn’t help but glance behind her and ask, "Is your uncle unwilling to see me?"

"Not at all; just have a seat. My dad will be down soon," Shen Weiyi walked over and sat down close to him.

After a little while, they saw Shen Juanzhi come downstairs.

He had deliberately put on the new shirt and suit that Shen Weiyi had picked out for him recently, even more formal than Sheng Ting on the floor below. He looked spirited when he emerged, making him seem even younger, not at all like he was almost forty.

Sheng Ting immediately stood up from the sofa.

The gazes of the two men met in mid-air, one with scrutiny and appraisal, the other calm and respectful.
