Chapter 249: Chapter 249 Can You Be A Little More Reserved?

Shen Weiyi opened the box.

From the outside, it looked more like a miniature phone charm. It was even smaller than the smallest power bank she knew on the market, yet its capacity was three to five times that of a regular power bank.

Shen Weiyi didn’t know how he managed it; the tiny object felt unbelievably heavy in her hand.

Looking at the item in her hand, she felt a swirl of complex emotions. After a long moment, she raised her head and said to him, "I’ve told you, you don’t need to be so good to me."

Because of Jiang Zhiyi, she felt like she couldn’t completely open her heart to love someone else, at least not yet. And what Sheng Ting did for her far exceeded what she did for him.

He was too nice to her, so much so that she felt their feelings weren’t equal.

She liked Sheng Ting, but compared to him, her feelings seemed too less and too frail, not strong enough to go all out for him.

Could such a relationship really last?

Shen Weiyi didn’t know.

Sheng Ting raised his hand and gently rubbed her head, saying, "I just improved the battery core a bit. It wasn’t a big deal."

Shen Weiyi pursed her lips, her long lashes drooping to hide the emotions in her eyes, and said, "Thank you, I really like it."

"What are you two hiding in the room for?" A knock came from the door, and they saw Shen Jingqi leaning against the doorway.

"Talking about love!" Shen Weiyi turned her head and gave him a look.

Shen Jingqi choked on her straightforwardness, "Hey, how are you not embarrassed at all? You’re in your boyfriend’s house, can’t you be a bit more reserved?"

Shen Weiyi replied, "You know this is my boyfriend’s room, so why are you still coming up to disturb us?"

Seriously tactless!

However, his appearance did help dissipate her earlier emotions.

"I was just getting too bored by myself," Shen Jingqi raised his eyebrows and said, "Look, you two will have plenty of opportunities for alone time later. Stop being mushy and come play games with me."

"You, a senior high student, should be playing what kind of games?"

"It’s called appropriate relaxation. Giving the brain enough rest so I can better dive into the next phase of studying," Shen Jingqi asserted.

"Just you and your twisted theories."

"Alright, you guys go play," Sheng Ting said with a smile.

"See, my brother’s letting us go. Let’s move on," Shen Jingqi reached out and pulled her.

Watching their figures head downstairs, Sheng Ting had a look of helplessness.

He just wanted to spend some alone time with that girl. Why was it so hard?

It seemed he needed to find a chance to move out.

In the afternoon, after having a meal, Sheng Ting drove Shen Weiyi home. On the way, he said, "The professor confirmed a few new projects at the previous meeting. I may need to go out for fieldwork soon. If you need any help while I’m away, you can ask Shi Yu and the others."

Even though the bar incident had been resolved, Sheng Ting was worried that those people might cause trouble for that girl once they were released.

"Will the fieldwork take long?" Shen Weiyi was somewhat surprised to hear that he would be leaving again.

Sheng Ting looked at her and responded, "About half a month, though it will depend on the professor’s schedule." He paused, then added, "I’m sorry I can’t be with you all the time."

Though they were together, they truly spent very little time with each other.

It was mainly because the lab was too busy.

"It’s okay, don’t worry about me," Shen Weiyi said. "Instead, take care of the professor and yourself out there!"

She wasn’t particularly clingy by nature. Being in a relationship didn’t necessarily mean they had to be together all the time.
