Chapter 92: One day’s time

"Boss, that... that kid..." Huang Xiaojun’s lackey was scolded until his face turned crimson, stammering. He’d wanted to say ’that kid is simply inhuman, way too fierce,’ but didn’t want the boss to look down on him, so he explained, "It’s because we saw Brother Hao getting hurt, right? If by any chance it led to a manslaughter or something, that would be bad. So we carried Brother Hao to the hospital first. Want me to call a few more guys to go to Class 3-2 and teach that kid a lesson?"

Huang Xiaojun’s expression turned fierce; he wasn’t a fool either. Having fought Leng Xuan before, he couldn’t gauge Leng Xuan’s abilities himself. Straight away, he said, "Shit! Do you think I haven’t lost enough face? Get out of here. I need to think this over. Fuck, if I don’t get my face back, I, Huang Xiaojun, might as well not bother hanging around here anymore."

"Yes, Boss." His lackey quickly scampered back to his own class.

Zhou Li, who was sitting at the front of the class, didn’t pay much attention to Huang Xiaojun scolding his lackey at first, but as she listened, she suddenly thought of something and said to herself, ’Could it be that this student called Leng Xuan, who Zhang Hao went looking for, is the same guy who helped me yesterday?’ She immediately grew anxious. But then, after hearing that Huang Xiaojun’s lackey said Zhang Hao was knocked unconscious with a single palm strike, she breathed a sigh of relief. Remembering that Zhang Hao was usually arrogant and domineering and had now so easily ended up in the hospital, a sense of schadenfreude actually filled her. After all, she disliked everyone associated with Huang Xiaojun.

However, as for students who got into fights, she always had a bad impression of them, so regarding Leng Xuan, she also silently warned herself that, should she encounter him again, she must stay far away from him, preferably pretending not to know him at all.

But sometimes, some things just don’t go as one wishes...

Thinking of recent events, Huang Xiaojun was fuming inside; he’d always sailed through life smoothly at school, and now, due to the transfer student’s arrival, he found himself in such a sorry state. When he thought about the reason behind it all, it ultimately led back to Zhou Li, and his patience with her had reached its limit. Suddenly, he slapped Zhou Li on the shoulder and barked, "Hey, Zhou Li!"

Zhou Li, who had been absorbed in her thoughts, was startled by the interruption and turned around to glare at Huang Xiaojun. Seeing his fierce face, she instantly grew fearful and said with a guilty conscience, "What do you want, Huang Xiaojun!"

Huang Xiaojun said menacingly, "Zhou Li, you better not show me that damn face of yours again. I don’t want to put up with you any longer, got it? I’m telling you right now, become my girlfriend. If you fucking refuse, watch your brother’s other leg!"

Zhou Li went pale, her fear mingling with anger, tears glittering in her eyes as she cried, "Huang Xiaojun, you... I warn you, don’t think about hurting my brother."

Huang Xiaojun took a deep breath, his face stern as he said, "One day, I’m giving you one day to think it over. If you don’t agree by tomorrow, you’ll be responsible for the consequences. Remember, I, Huang Xiaojun, keep my word! Hmph!" With that, he stormed out.

"Zhou Li, why are you crying?" asked a female classmate sitting next to Zhou Li.

Zhou Li hurriedly wiped away her tears and replied, "I’m fine."

"Sigh," the female classmate shook her head. She had actually overheard the exchange between Zhou Li and Huang Xiaojun, but she didn’t dare to meddle in the bully’s affairs, so she could only silently sympathize with Zhou Li.
