Rubbing his somewhat painful forehead, Wei Li immediately changed his expression, and with a ferocious growl, he said, "Pang Shanshan, don’t blame me for being heartless; it’s you who are too ruthless. I’ve been completely sincere with you, yet you treat me like this. Fine then! Don’t blame me for not being polite anymore." After speaking, he dialed a number on his phone, waited for a ring, and then hung up.

Less than a minute later, several people burst into the private room, each one thick-waisted and big-shouldered, a total of five burly men. The private room wasn’t very large to begin with, and their arrival made it seem much more crowded. Upon seeing this, Pang Shanshan couldn’t help but regret her earlier decision. She should have fled sooner instead of staying here. However, she hadn’t left because she was worried that Wei Li might get hurt. But now, even if she wanted to leave, it was no longer possible.

Pang Shanshan turned her gaze and said coldly, "Wei Li, what are you doing? Who are these people?"

Wei Li laughed and said, "Nothing much, since you’re refusing me, I simply have to resort to other means. I think that if we turn the raw rice into cooked rice, you won’t resist me anymore."

Hearing this, Pang Shanshan involuntarily took a few steps back, her body pressing tightly against the wall. Her voice had anger, as well as a hint of fear, "What exactly are you planning to do? I’m telling you, no matter what you try, I will never be with someone like you. Wei Li, you’ve really disappointed me." After she finished speaking, she suddenly thought of Leng Xuan. If he were here, he would surely protect her from any harm.

In fact, when Wei Li had invited her, she had tried to politely decline. But when Wei Li said he was about to go abroad and wanted to have a meal with her as a farewell between friends, she reconsidered. Meanwhile, Leng Xuan had already become restless. With rapid thoughts racing through his mind, he then lifted his head and with furrowed brows feigned surprise, asking, "Did you hear something?"

"What sound?" Li Mengjie asked somewhat puzzled, "I didn’t hear anything."

"But I clearly heard someone crying for help, it seems to be coming from the room next door."

"Really?" Li Mengjie was skeptical.

"Better to believe it and be prepared, rather than be caught off guard. This is the young lady’s own hotel, after all. If something were to happen, it would greatly affect the reputation," Leng Xuan turned to Ling Xuejiu and said, "Young lady, wouldn’t it be better to have someone check it out? It wouldn’t hurt, anyway."

Although Ling Xuejiu had always been cold to Leng Xuan, she was somewhat aware of his abilities and knew he wasn’t one to speak without reason. So she nodded and said, "Alright, let’s have the manager take a look. It would be good to resolve any issues if there are any."

The rather plump manager, upon being informed, immediately called over two security guards and then approached the adjacent private room. There, he saw two muscular men guarding the door, which was sealed shut. Having been a manager for many years and encountered various kinds of people, he knew what sort of characters brought trouble. Looking at these two fellows, he felt a headache coming on but, remembering the young lady’s instructions, he went forward and said, "Gentlemen, what’s happening inside? May I come in?"
