Leng Xuan frowned slightly upon hearing this and said, "Then where is your father now?"

"They’ve taken him, I don’t know where they’ve locked him up." As she spoke, Dai Xinyue’s eyes were already reddened, and tears began to slowly fall.

Leng Xuan asked, "Have you called the police yet?"

Leng Xuan said, "Do you know about Huang Jixiang?"

"Him?" Su Zhenggang was clearly startled, then said, "Of course I know him. He’s been on our criminal police team’s radar. He started in the underworld and although he’s supposedly gone legit now, we suspect he’s still involved in plenty of illegal business—we just can’t find the evidence. Oh, and didn’t you say last time that Flower Butterfly was Chen Feng’s senior? We’ve investigated and found that Chen Feng worked for Huang Jixiang before. Also, Huang Jixiang’s son should be someone you know; he goes to the same school as you, named Huang Xiaojun."

"I see." Leng Xuan nodded to himself. It seemed the apple didn’t fall far from the tree. Neither father nor son were good fellows.

"Leng Xuan, why are you asking about this? Do you have a grudge against him?" Su Zhenggang’s inquisitive voice came through the phone.

"It’s nothing, just asking." Leng Xuan didn’t intend to share the matter with Su Zhenggang. If things went by the book, catching Huang Jixiang on anything could be difficult, and it might be even harder to rescue Dai Xinyue’s father, so he chose to withhold the information. Changing the subject, he said, "Big Brother Su, how’s the situation with Flower Butterfly? Any progress?"

When Flower Butterfly was mentioned, Su Zhenggang didn’t press further about Huang Jixiang and answered, "The approach you suggested last time really worked. I sent men to surround the factory completely. As soon as he came out, we started shooting. Just like you said, that guy seems to be heavily weakened; he didn’t dare to fight back and immediately retreated back into the factory. Even though he tried to break out a few times, we immediately fell back, expanding the defensive line, which forced him to return without achieving anything. I believe in two to three days, he won’t be able to hold out."

"Then I’m relieved." After chatting for a bit more, Leng Xuan hung up the call. He looked at the tearful Dai Xinyue and said, "Don’t worry, I will help you rescue your father, and I won’t let him lose a single hair."

"Really?" Dai Xinyue was still somewhat incredulous. After all, Huang Jixiang’s power was formidable, and how could Leng Xuan, alone, possibly stand against it?

Leng Xuan smiled, his voice exuding strong confidence as he assured her, "Don’t worry, when I say something, I make sure it happens. Stop crying now, stay in the hospital for the next few days and don’t go home. There are a lot of people here, and no matter how audacious they are, they wouldn’t dare to cause trouble."

Dai Xinyue nodded and said, "I understand, you should rest early. You’ve just recovered from your injuries, so it’s better to move as little as possible."

Dai Xinyue looked at Leng Xuan gratefully and said, "Mhm, I will be careful. You, you be careful too."
